Barbed wire, traps, camps, etc = SERVER RESET
icomrade replied to Ghandi's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Server administrators have no power to reset the map, unless they have more than 1 mission ID, in which case they should also have more than 1 server. I'd call their bluff and go nuts with barded wire and other stuff. -
wow posting a video on how to cheat, aren't you brilliant...
-
Post your .rpt file http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/arma.RPT This question would be better asked on the BIS forums (as would most troubleshooting questions).
-
it should depend on the caliber/ammunition. have fun reading http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?93262-Bullet-velocity-inaccurate Edit: it seems that this problem was solved?? https://dev-heaven.net/issues/show/8219

Cargo.sqf spotted in the wild again !
icomrade replied to rajkosto's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
a lot of those players are banned from my server as well. Repeatedly getting caught, they just don't get it... -
when posting about hardware related problems you should include your hardware. Note: telling us how much RAM you have is not helping.
-
how are you launching the game? try using this. http://minus.com/mGelGtFpT/
-
it depends on your backpack, and if it has stuff in it or not.
-
run TS as an administrator.
-
I have absolutely no idea why people automatically assume it's the admin that takes down the server when they come across some tents. Unfortunately this does happen, but I doubt, if the server has been down for some time now, that they shut the server off to get gear back. Also your in-game name is in your screenshot...

de.innosystec.unrar.exception.RarException: unkownError
icomrade replied to thecrackmuffin's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
install DayZ using six updater. -
If you have a slow hdd (5400 rpm) and there are a large amount of textures to load from the game you will have micro-stutters. If you upgrade your hdd to a 7200rpm drive you should get rid of the problem, if you get an SSD you will probably gain some fps (not too much). The truth is I don't use steam so, I don't know. The people I know that do use steam for CO seem to have a lot of problems launching the beta through it. For simplicitie's sake just create a non-steam shorcut to the .cmd file you downloaded (that is, if all you want is the overlay).

you can add any scripts you want to your scripts.txt file, there is no definite way someone could know what is being logged and what isn't when they are in a server. Battleye will ban these people using the "BE Bypass," next time they do a round of bans there will be lots o crying because people think they are invincible now.
-
Wow, you created 2 garbage, threads way to go....
-
Open the .zip there's an installer, of course you have to run the beta after you install it. It's a separate executable, so you have the stable update and the beta update at the same time. you don't need the txt files anywhere those can go in the trash unless you care about what they have to say.

Dedicatedserverinterface.sqf?
icomrade replied to MarKeR (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The server control panel is used by hackers to run scripts, using a hex editor. -
Server name?

wifi intereference and ethernet cables
icomrade replied to gurei's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
quality of WiFi depends on 3 things: router's antennas, router's WiFi chip, and your WiFi card. I seriously hope you aren't using a shitty USB adapter. -
wifi intereference and ethernet cables
icomrade replied to gurei's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Okay first off, install DD-wrt, see http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database to see if your router is supported. It may be even if that says no, just search in google for "router model" DD-wrt support. For the love of god please follow an installation guide for your router, just google "router name" DD-wrt installation. Step two setup QOS (quality of service) and enable uPnP (universal plug and play). It's fairly straight forward to setup QOS if you need help just ask. Step three get a wire (optional) if you still can't get good speed. -
Sorry for taking so long, you will need to either use the beta batch script or use a shortcut to launch the beta and DayZ. see here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=9314 see here if you get some errors: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2085 Edit: try this first, it's an edited version of the beta start batch script. Revised, fixed the stupid windowed mode start... http://minus.com/mGelGtFpT/
-
sorry if I wasn't clear, use this in your mod line. right click on your shortcut and paste this before "-mod=@DayZ" -cpuCount=4 -exthreads=7
-
what graphics card do you have? try this suggestion http://www.armaholic.com/forums.php?m=posts&q=16644 Edit: also what cpu?
-
The game is ArmA 2 CO and the mod is DayZ. If you read up on the subject you will find that ArmA is much more efficient on higher speed processors, rather than more cores, which leads to lower cpu utilization. Also ArmA 2 is a multithread/core application, so it can use more than 1 core at a time.

BattlEye not kicking for scripts
icomrade replied to urbanfox's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Add this to your scripts.txt, it should fix it for you. Although it will probably also kick legit players in some cases. 5 private ["_dummy"]; _dummy = [_this,"players"] execVM "\ca\ui\scripts\dedicatedServerInterface.sqf"; -
I have no clue why people that don't know anything blame the engine. The engine is extremely efficient in what it does, what other game do you know that run a 225 km^2 map? It's a problem with the broken bone system used by DayZ, note that ArmA 2 doesn't even have a broken bone system. Most likely you were crushed by something, this will happen if you lay down next to a tree or rock.
