Needed to make an image for the slideshow on my website' date=' I wasn't a fan of the hands in the slide, but they're awesome in the image. So I came up with this franken-picture, I like to think it's half as good as the original. :P

    Patch 94444 Wrong CDKEY error

there seriously need to be a sticky "THIS GAME IS NOT STEAM FRIENDLY." You need to first run every game on steam, ArmA 2, then Operation Arrowhead, then Combined Ops, as LVG already stated. then if you still get an error verify the integrity of game cache. After that, if you still get an error, simply download the latest beta.zip and right click on the .exe inside of the archive then click view file, then run the .exe files one by one.

    U Jelly? Showoff your Hording!

I'm guessing this is probably only ~1 or 2 km off the map, thosesedans drive 20 km/h offroad. unless you spent and hour and a ton of gas refueling them (would be hard with no gas tanks) you couldnt go too far.

    Bad serial number?

the steam version strikes again... usually this happens when someone launches the beta wrong. follow this tutorial, edit the cmd and remove " -windowed" from the .cmd file (right click and edit). http://dayz.sykotix.com/arma-ii-beta-client-install/

    DayZ Development Twitter

The original post is over a month old, the news page wasn't working back then. But, yes it is the same twitter.
  13. Please pm me if anything hack related occurs and the player isn't removed automatically, thanks.
  14. The server should kick for spawning ai now, the player probably spawned them where he clicked on the map, not on players. The script used to force other players to execute your code is also added to the scripts.txt. battleye will not ban you for this.

Updating beta patch doesn't update beta patch

you deleted the beta folder... Restore the beta folder from the trash bin, overwrite the contents of your current beta folder (if it's there) with the old one. Wait for six-updater to update the beta.

    Military barricade in Cap golova

I believe the skin you are seeing is the old Bandit skin. No... this is actually a soldier skin, the bandit skin is not a skin pack, it's simply a different player model the player used to morph into when humanity was low. Skins are only a means to an end, when you change "skins" all you do is change your player model, this is why females cannot wear skins, there is no player model for them other than survivor. Bandit model: bandit1_DZ If it was a skin it would be: Skin_bandit1_DZ case "Skin_Soldier1_DZ": { If player is in or switches to the soldier skin than his model will be: [dayz_playerUID,dayz_characterID,"Soldier1_DZ"] spawn player_humanityMorph; A soldier. The fact of the matter, whether the soldier skin spawns on its own or not, is still to be addressed.
  17. Doing position checks on every single person in the server whenever someone logs in would probably be a disaster. The server keeps tabs on position data, but it isn't updated everyone at once.
  18. "remove listed files" which files were listed? This usually means you are running one or more mods/addons and the server does not have the key files for these addons.
  19. aha, it was only a matter of time before someone used that script... you'll have to wait for most servers to blacklist it.

As an Admin, how do I deal with this?

Sorry, WTFAU? I've not once banned the wrong person, although I doubt you have any experience maintaining a server. Not my problem, that script is blocked on my server. In my ideology carry a hacked weapon, unless you spawned it in, is not bannable. Besides, how is every player supposed to keep track of what guns are legit and which are not? They could have got it from anyone they killed.

As an Admin, how do I deal with this?

I'm not really sure what to think of it, the best way to get hackers added to the distributed bans.txt would be to contact a dev on IRC/live chat. Cheat reports here don't do much, and most of the helpful threads get pushed under people complaining about admin abuse.
  22. Maybe you forgot how it worked, let me remind you. A. you kill a survivor and you loose humanity. If humanity was below 0 you became a bandit. B. You killed a bandit, you gained humanity (hooray). C. You were a bandit but gained humanity for behaving (not killing survivors), you eventually will become a survivor again. Kind of like that timing idea, just a little... Note: humanity lost/gained is directly proportional to the amount of humanity that the the player you just killed had. Did I mention that there were magical skins that identified bandits, wow neat-o! It was not account based. And there was no margin for error. ie, a few kills here and there that don't perma flag you. How the hell would it work if it wasn't account based? It sure as hell wasn't based on your player name... it was based on your PID (profile ID), YOUR ACCOUNT. why would they perma-flag you? it would make no sense, because I was a bandit at first, then I changed into a survivor because I simply avoided people instead of shooting them. Everyone can have a change of heart, and they deserve a chance to recover from their old ways.

After many, many, studies of real-life zombies I've published my findings in a documentary, here take a peek. This documentary would in fact prove the OP right, zombie are dumb. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxFTO17QNMs&feature=related
