hi i have just set up a server through dayz.st everything is great and responsive the only thing im not sure about is how to set up automated messages i.e. i want a certain message to pop every say 30 mins, help would be greatly appreciated cheers

what about the idea of being able to siphon fuel from vehicles with and empty jerry can and say a new extra needed item say some hose, obviously found in industrial/sheds????

hmm true but i'm sure there's not many servers like it so its just one more option for people to try, if it doesn't work ill change the theme :) thank you for the reply

just a bit of fun really and as trichome said there's zombies on Dayz, as the ad says the idea behind it being private and passworded is so i can track the members and know who's on my server there for minimizing any hacking and making it a lot easier to narrow it down if there is. i made it private to stop server hopping and loot farming. the idea of starting with a gillie and a AS50 came after reading some posts in the graveyard or some very disgruntled players who had countlessly been killed within seconds or spawning and mostly attacked by hackers so it also give the "not so experienced players" a chance to try out some of the items they might not normally get to use. i myself have been attacked by a hacker before and even though i was stripped of all items then armed with a gillie and an AS50 with a thermal sight was nice its really not worth losing my cd key over. hopefully just one more step against hackers

quick question can i still set up my server even though i got dayz from steam as i cant seem to find the root files that the tutorial email requires me to copy files too and from???? or can i only do this if i puchase and install from disc?? thanks

when running a dedicated server can i still use that copy to actually play the game or would i have to buy another copy, AND a machine??? help would be great!!!!!!!!!

and can i do this at the same time??? i.e. play on my own dedicated server which is installed on my system with the same game copy???? many thanks

hi i am a new player of dayz and wish to host my own server on my systems but just a few questions if anyone can help. to behonest there arnt really any clear step by step instructions on setting up a new server like, do i get sent the software for accessing the server control panel? do i have to completely dedicated my copy of dayz to the server or can i still play using that server? what steps are taken after receaving my instance id, i.e. do i have to install anything?, where would i enter my instance id? etc if anyone could help??? many thanks
