    this mod is stupid now

I started anew for the first time under the new settings ~4 nights ago. Within 90 minutes I had a Winchester with 60 rounds, an M1911 with 14 rounds, a hatchet, hunting knife, map, watch, ~2 sardines, pasta, ~4 sodas, an ALICE pack full of medical supplies, and 45 zombie kills or so. Krutoy Cap-->Tulga for deerstand/food --> Barn for hatchet --> Another barn further north for Winchester --> Berezino hospital for medical supplies --> Berezino south grocery story --> Berezino north grocery store. That was it. 90 minutes roughly to a nearly full starting set of gear, ready to raid some of the high-value targets.
  2. "I went to Cherno and got killed" stories start sounding so funny after awhile. Like "I touched a hot stove and it hurt! Now I smash all stoves." or "One time I jumped out the window and got killed. Nerf windows!"

    Remove broken bones for now

"I was roaming around totally unprepared and paid the price! Quick, change the game design." Anyway, patch is reducing frequency of broken bones. That seems reasonable as it seems like ~20% chance to break on zombie strike. A bit high. Maybe 5-10%? We will see what he comes up with.

    The Pvp Problem.

Of course you don't have a problem with PvP "to survive" because it doesn't exist in the game. Your survival never depends on murdering another human. It's always possible to get supplies in other ways and with less risk than hunting other players. There are only three legitimate reasons to PvP in the game: 1. It's fun and you want to do it. 2. You want more gear for yourself or your friends. 3. Self defense against the people from 1 and 2. And since 3 depends on the existence of 1 and 2' date=' there are actually only two reasons to [i']initiate PvP. There is no such thing as "necessary" PvP and if something were implemented that made it such, the outcry on the forums would be torrential.

    Make a party spawning lobby

Stand close to each other. Do things together. Voila! Party system done. Ship it. Where's my check?

    Why did you shoot me.

Yeah. People like you need to get bored and leave. An "asocial deathmatch arena?" That's really what you're going with? Ridiculous tripe with no basis in reality.
  8. Really trying to avoid this thread and its endlessly circular arguments, but you people ranting on and on about "PvP players" and "PvE players" are arguing about a game that doesn't exist. DayZ players are necessarily both - and the vast majority of DayZ players do both. The game is about PvE and PvP. You cannot PvP effectively without also dealing with PvE aspects - and you can't be effective in PvE if you're not willing to PvP at least once in awhile. For the first time in a really long time, the P's are now part of the E. This is a good thing. Don't fight it. Embrace it. Let it flourish.
  9. I had a lot of issues getting it working. Finally used the registry script suggestion here by Mctittles: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=12236&page=2.

    Why did you shoot me.

Hogwash. It's built on a military simulator. The entire game is specifically designed to award tactical team play. Incentives to cooperative play are quite numerous and more are coming. However, that's irrelevant to the topic of "PK." Team play will not reduce PvP. Teams will simply kill other teams and solo players. In fact, I predict an increase in murder rates as team play becomes more prevalent for the simple fact that teams are more effective killing machines. Carry on.

    Let Players "Synchronize" GPS

Really? How many GPS units have you found in the game? It's still damn hard just to get one let alone two. I think having some reward if your entire team is able to get a unit is not that "easy." Just like finding radios would help your team communicate, finding GPS should help them track each other's location. I get the feeling you've never read any of my other posts or really understand the implications of this suggestion.

    Server Hopping/Exploiting Prevention Idea

There are FAR more elegant solutions to this problem that don't involve undermining so many fundamental aspects of the game. If I have 25 characters instead of 1, how will death have any meaning whatsoever? "Oh well, I died on N21 but that's okay I still have N26 and NY38 and Seattle 9!" Eww, grosss. This is on top of the obvious issues - servers can be offline, full or the owners can simply stop paying the bills whenever they get bored with the game. You want me to lose my 47-day-old survivor 'cause some guy decided he can't afford to keep his server up anymore? Eww, grosssss.
  14. Does getting shot in the fucking face not qualify as a repercussion?

    Bounty's on bandits

All rocket needs to do is make it more possible to identify players in the game and players can make their own bounty system.
  16. ZedsDeadBaby

    Bandits and Survivors

Yeah! Military tactics be damned. Nobody has to worry about establishing or maintaining a formation or communicating during battle or thinking intelligently about how firearms work, etc. Friendly fire incidents are half of what makes battles in this game so intense. Please just go away, okay? This isn't the game for you.

    The Pvp Problem.

Wow' date=' really spreading this tripe around today, eh? Complete and utter hogwash. Your odds of being killed by another player while attempting to murder them are [b']orders of magnitude higher than your odds of dying to zombies will collecting the best loot in the game that literally just spawns lying on the ground. I looted ~6 helicopter crashes with my gang yesterday. Two pairs of NVGs, M107, M249 a Bizon SD, and an L85A2 AWS all with zero risk to ourselves because we were playing on a lightly populated server. And I'm supposed to believe that this was somehow "more difficult" than hunting down an intelligent, heavily-armed, fully-aware human player? One who quite likely is not alone? That's seriously the party line you're going to tow around? Killing in real life does not have repercussions. We had to invent those ourselves, remember? Do you think the neanderthals suffered "repercussions" when they killed people? No. We had to establish the rule of law to punish the crime of murder. Now that rule of law is gone. If you want it back you're going to have to establish it yourself. rocket is not going to do it for you. They are. You can visibly see the blood that comes out of them when you shoot them. If you want "repercussions" then hike your fucking diaper up and go dish some out with extreme prejudice. Quit asking the game design to do your dirty work for you.

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2

Last Visit: Today 09:57 AM He's out there. Probably busy working hard. Patience, patience.
  19. You don't have to break into hospitals. Medical crates spawn on the ground outside and on the roof.
  20. ZedsDeadBaby

    Let Players "Synchronize" GPS

That's neither technically correct, nor relevant.
  21. ZedsDeadBaby

    Please wipe everything

Wiping doesn't improve testing in a game with no character progression. You test the same mechanics and functionality on Day 50 that you test on Day 1. Scheduled wipes are pointless and counter-productive to long term goals. It's just as important to test the "end game" aspects and equipment as it is to test the new player scenarios. I would, however, support a one time wipe after item, tent and vehicle duplication issues are fixed. Duplicating items is far too common especially (don't hate me) among server admins who can basically dupe anything at any time with a server restart.
  22. Don't try anywhere but hospitals. You can get more than you can fit in your bag from any hospital. Residential/military spawns are 1% to be medical and medical loot is 1% to have morphine so your chances in a medical/residential loot pile are 0.01%. You could search for hours without finding any - faster to go to the hospital.
  23. Some interesting ideas, but they will not "prevent" or even significantly reduce the presence of "deathmatching." People who play the game solely to murder other players aren't just doing it because they're bored by zombies - they are doing it because it's fun and that's what they want to do. If you force them to cooperate, they will - and thenyou will have more small teams of murderers coming to kill you instead of individuals but you'll be dead at the end of the day all the same if you don't figure out how to deal with them.
