  1. That's certainly my preferred solution!

What were the arma developers thinking?

BE doesn't "stop" hackers, it simply records the fact that they hacked and bans them for it later. Over time, this will have a net positive effect on the community. To truly stop the hackers, BIS will need to update their client/server architecture and lock down permissions on what clients are able to do. BE can't fix the scripting loopholes in ARMA's engine. I think it's obvious BE is doing a decent job. Look at the ban appeals forum - hundreds and hundreds of potential scripters are now out of the system for good. That makes us all safer tomorrow than we were yesterday.

Simple Solution to Loot Farming via Server Hopping

Thanks for the (mostly) constructive replies, folks. Good discussion. If you feel that way' date=' you should read the OP again as well as the thread. All of your questions are addressed and answered clearly and succinctly. If you don't want to do that, let me answer briefly: loot suppression only effects the suppressed player. No other players would be impacted in any way. This is not intended as a fix for combat disconnects. I agree that is an issue that needs to be addressed, but it's a separate issue with many facets and considerations that don't really apply to my suggestion. My suggestion is designed only to discourage loot-farming via frequent server changing.
  4. All of our tents save fine. Are you sure someone doesn't just know your tent location?
  5. It's amazing. 400+ hours and never a dull moment, and we're only in Alpha. Every person I have introduced to DayZ is hopelessly hooked. Though, I have to say, how is it all possible in a game that you personally have been claiming for weeks is ruined and destroyed by players who aren't playing properly, or treating the game as a "deathmatch?" Don't want to argue; just hope to see more posts like this from you in the future and less of your typical fare which has been... less constructive.
  6. Only 18% of the currently living players in the game are bandits. Otherwise, your question is moot. The goal of DayZ is not to perfectly emulate what would happen in reality - not least of which because it's impossible to know, but also because it doesn't necessarily make a very interesting game.
  7. Keep up the good work team.

All ready to go (DayZ Style)

    Just... in case?
  9. Then my insult wasn't directed at you, was it? Why are you acting as if it were? I'm simply pointing out that a tester who leaves because he finds bugs or incomplete features is not a very good tester. I think we can all agree on that. Not sure what we're all getting so angry about. Now you sound like my wife.
  10. Didn't you get banned from the forums once already? How did that get lifted? And is this the quality of post we can expect now that you're back?

    My 2 cents (1.7.1.5)

I appreciate your enthusiasm for DayZ, but you're not helping. Not everyone who has a frustrating experience at first should be ushered out the door. Some just need time to come around to the experience of DayZ and realize it's not a traditional game. OP is at least not ranting and raving about the ruinous mess of a game that is DayZ. I don't agree with any of his suggestions, but at least he presented them without acting like most of the people on the forums. Try meting out some advice. OP might come around one day and see the light.

An Actual in game Day Z

Camping is solved by scarcity of food. As long as animals do not re-spawn, food will run out rather quickly for most people. This would actually create an incredible dynamic at the start because people would have to weigh priorities - should I try and gather more powerful weapons, or start hunting and build up a storehouse of food? Incredible idea. Would love to see it and participate in at least one round.

    Which servers have vehicles?

Yup. They're all hoarded. That's why this weekend alone my small team of four friends found an Offroad Pickup, Bicycle, Dirtbike, Land Rover, Ural Truck and a Yellow Hatchback. We now have more vehicles than people. Most of them were in their original spawn locations, untouched, waiting to be repaired by us. All servers have vehicles and they're not hard to find. Anyone saying it's impossible because they're "all hoarded" are just too lazy to spend a little time searching. You will notice they tend to be the same people who complain about the other parts of the game that aren't spoon-fed to them off a silver platter. We also don't hide them off the map. Most people don't. It's pointless and inconvenient. We had one of our trucks stolen today, but even in a vehicle driving 10km off the map every time you want to log off the game is incredibly prohibitive. Especially because some vehicles don't do that well off-road. It takes so much time and fuel it's not worth it. People think this happens all the time on every server. It really doesn't. Most groups just park their vehicles off the road in the tree line and hope nobody spots them. Run around and keep your eyes peeled, you will find them I promise.

    DayZ analysis

Yup. Your contributions to the thread have been SO mature and reasonable. You're a straight up twat, dude. If you don't want to participate in the conversation, next time just keep that shit-chute you call a mouth shut.
  16. Scumbag tester. Plays alpha build. Leaves because not all mechanics work perfectly.

    Let friends spawn together

Using map, compass, and communication to find each other is a huge part of the challenge and intensity of DayZ. Also, deciding whether you're going to go meet up with your friend who just spawned on the coast or wait for him to come to you is part of the social dynamic of the game. What's more important to you, staying away from the coast and surviving, or meeting your friend and helping him/her get started? This suggestion takes out a big part of the game. The furthest you can reasonably be from anyone in this game is 21km. If you both run at each other, that's only 35 minutes. No big deal.

    Pass out needs to go

There are items in the game that solve this problem for you. Use them.

    Clear proof of wall hacks.

Wow, so we've racked up blind, stupid, rude and too craven to own up to the fact that he was wrong. Never seen someone reveal so many despicable character traits in such a short period of time.

12000 blood - what unit is that?

All the average humans are dead.
