Will Arma 3 actually be optimized?

No. They are going to purposefully hog your system resources. If you attempt to change your game settings, your system will immediately catch fire. While you are desperately trying to put out the fire, a representative from BIS will be dispatched to your house to have sex with your significant other or a parent or sibling of their choosing. Any bastard children they father thusly will be your responsibility financially, as per the ARMA 3 EULA.
  2. It's funny when someone already knows the reasons why their post is asinine and ridiculous before other people point it out. Yes, these issues existed in ARMA 2, but they weren't as important as they are in DayZ because ARMA 2 is an instance-mission deathmatch game, not a persistent-world, permanent death game. The same is true of hacks which, while annoying in ARMA 2, were not nearly as devastating to the community as they are in DayZ. That changes priorities. Bugs and hacks that were not important in ARMA 2 are now important in DayZ and will be fixed. Incredibly, BIS has devoted engineers who would normally be working on ARMA 3 right now to fixing bugs in the ARMA 2 engine instead, explicitly because they value DayZ players and the contributions we have made to the company financially. In summary: You're an impatient, entitled little turd and nobody's going to miss you. Get fucked.
  3. Sorry' date=' dude. It's clear you put some thought into your post, but this makes absolutely no sense. From the victims' point of view, reasons 1, 2, and 3 [i']are exactly the same. How can the victims' game play be differently impacted by the motivations of their enemies when they have absolutely no idea what those motivations even are? Your post also ignores the fact that 1, 2, and 3 are not mutually exclusive. I can kill you because I'm paranoid and bored. Or bored and greedy. Or a little bit of all three. It's not just red, white or blue there are all shades of reasons to kill and from the point of view of the person who just had their brain blown out through a hole in the back of their skull it really makes not one lick of goddamn difference what their assailant's particular reasons were for pulling the trigger. Lastly, more cooperative elements are great, but they're not going to change PvP. The most effective PvPers are already working in small- to medium-sized teams. More cooperative elements will bolster their advantage over lone survivors, not reduce it. So, yeah. I don't know. There's a lot wrong with your post even though it's presented well and sincere. Cheers.

    Anyone else do this...

Tents are numerous. Tents in those locations are just temporary means to farm loot. Nobody expects them to survive. So you didn't really inconvenience anyone much. They already got their loot and took it some place else to their real base.
  5. We don't have a flagging system. Yet, the game hasn't devolved into a deathmatch. Going to say it every time you post it.
  6. There was the argument that said a much more elegant system would be one that gave you the ability to identify your own enemies so that the game doesn't have to do it for you. The one you completely ignored and glossed over. Like you glossed over all the enormous gaping holes that your system leaves. Still laughing at the fact that if I'm in a firefight with 3 people I'm only allowed to shoot the ones that have thus far successfully hit me with bullets. Otherwise I'm a criminal and have to "deal with it." Yup. Flawless system, yours. No better around, that's for sure. You've convinced me. Implement it today.

    Shoot on site solution...

Great post, Jugg. Give players the tools to establish their own rules and regulations - and identify violators as they personally see fit. Some players will use the system to identify killers to avoid, others might use it to identify targets to track. No engine-driven punishments or rewards. No artificial labels. No blinking lights saying "Bad guy over here!" Just a bag of tools that people can use. Wish more discussion on the forum went this way, instead of "We must punish bandits!" or "lol carebear."

    Alt F4ing becoming absurdly prevalent

They're working on a fix. Not sure we need another thread discussing this...

    Goodbye

Thanks for your hard work testing and many valuable contributions to the community.
  10. He said that' date=' not me. Just because I like the way he thinks about the game mechanics and rules doesn't mean I play the game the way he does. I realize you're new to the forums and maybe haven't read many of my posts. That's okay. Let me restate: I've killed ~10 people in the last 55 days, mostly for shooting at me or trying to steal my things. So, no. I don't need to try again. No, I still have all the other arguments I made and you failed to counter. Those, too.
  11. I never admitted to any such thing; nor do I play that way. I have probably killed fewer than 10 people' date=' mostly justified, in the last ~55 days. The game is not a deathmatch. Cherno and Elektro may be deathtraps but move on and get out and the game resembles a deathmatch about as much as it resembles a city building simulation. Well you used so many words up on your own stupidity I'm not surprised you don't have any left over for mine.
  12. Criminals? Like people who commit crimes? Crime is the breach of rules or laws for which some governing authority (via mechanisms such as legal systems) can ultimately prescribe a conviction. I thought you just got done saying this wasn't about imposing law? Maybe if you didn't constantly contradict yourself people might be able to construct a more cogent argument against you?
  13. Okay. If your system isn't based on that, what's it based on? The Bible? The Koran? What makes killing inherently wrong if not present day standards of morality? What makes a person "innocent" if not present day standards of law? Help me out.
  14. They're in a vehicle. Vehicles catch fire and explode killing all occupants. So all murderers have to do to be safe is travel around in a bus full of survivors? Foolish. Again, no I don't because none of your retarded idea exists and never will. I'll blow the whole fucking vehicle up and piss on their smoking corpses while I sing the song of my people.
  15. *Checks to see if DayZ is in real life* Nope. *Phew* That was a close one. Therefore nope.
  16. except.. those deathmatch style games DO exist. /next What the fuck does that have to do with anything? Deathmatch games exist... okay? DayZ isn't one of them, as evidenced by my post and I hope we've been talking about DayZ this whole time. We've been talking about DayZ, right? Right?
  17. Hahaha. You want me to purposefully aim away from people who are actively firing at me because they are "innocent?" You want me to let a murderer get away because he got in a vehicle with "innocents?" You have officially crossed over from silly to ridiculously asinine. Now I just point at you and laugh. Not that I wasn't doing that already, but now it's a hearty belly laugh instead of a chuckle.
  18. You can sit there and call it a "FFA deathmatch" all you want. Say it until your face turns colors and your lips go numb. Shout it from the hilltops. No amount of repeating it is going to make it true. No deathmatch game allows you to survive for hours, let alone days, let alone weeks, let alone over a month. Learn to survive or get used to dying & crying. rocket is not going to show up on a fiery steed and rescue you like some kind of damsel in distress. Dry those tears, hike that diaper up and reload your weapon. You've got work to do. Nobody's going to do it for you.
