Clothing does offer protection, but also don't underestimate the power of "just looks." It's a huge tactical advantage to be able to dress like your friends and squad mates.

How about Balota airfield military loot getting removed?
ZedsDeadBaby replied to Twixxer's topic in General Discussion
I promise you it's both. If Dean didn't want PvP, he could have turned it off 1.5 years ago. -
Consider prioritizing this in upcoming fixes.

So run for 15 seconds? -

Please, no. We all saw what happened with starting weapons in the mod. Noob corpses scattered like beached whales. The game has been infinitely better since removing the starting weapon. And before you say "Those were guns, this is a melee weapon!" it really wouldn't matter one bit. People would still run around smashing each other's faces. -
If you're stuck in a sealed room or a wall, try sprinting at the edge and then logging out while you're sprinting. When you log back in, you might be on the other side. Worked for me.

I tend to live a lot longer when I kill idiots before they kill me. So I would say, yes, PvP is a pretty important part of survival. Unless by "real survivalists" you mean people who get ten cans of tuna and then go sit in a bush for 3 months.

I think he's trying to act like rocket is "disappointed" in us for PvP'ing, even though that's one of the main reasons he created the game. In other words, just another idiotic bitch thread.

Mouse issues, literally unplayable... top priority?
ZedsDeadBaby replied to Rekuja's topic in General Discussion
You know what, I absolutely apologize. I was able to recreate the "problem" you're describing by attempting to whip my mouse around at ungodly speeds from left to right. I guess I just never experienced the issue, because I've become accustom to moving my mouse at a more reasonable rate of speed and in a controlled fashion. So, yes. There is a "problem" in that you can't play DayZ as if it's Counterstrike or CoD. Just move your mouse at a more reasonable, controlled rate and the game works fine. -
Yeah, no. Pretty sure it's dumb either way. If I wanted to read a book, I would just go read a book. Even if I wanted to "roleplay" it, I would still read a copy in real life so the text is actually readable and the interface isn't terrible. And, sorry, "roleplayer" or not I don't believe for a fucking second you're going to post up in DayZ and read a copy of fucking Faust. Besides, what are you "roleplaying?" A fucking idiot? Put the book down and go gather some food and supplies.
-
Yeah, because it's kind of pointless and dumb and nobody's going to do it.

Mouse issues, literally unplayable... top priority?

Or, quite a few people have your mouse? It's a pretty popular one. -
Less than $10M after Steam's cut. I'm absolutely thrilled at their success, and wish them all the best, but I also urge people to maintain perspective. You cannot "hire a massive team" with $9M.

That definitely doesn't work.

Mouse issues, literally unplayable... top priority?
ZedsDeadBaby replied to Rekuja's topic in General Discussion
Gun motion, player motion. They're both ridiculous in Counterstrike. It's obviously not something with the game or we would all be suffering from it. My mouse works fine. Yes, it moves more slowly than Arcade shooters but that's because DayZ isn't an arcade game and it's based on a milsim. -
Would this simultaneously fix Server Hopping and Ghosting?
ZedsDeadBaby posted a topic in General Discussion
http://i.imgur.com/h3sjBVm.jpg This could be implemented with a series of new "spawn points" which, rather than acting as spawn points for new players would act as "bump points" for people who log-out in unauthorized zones. So I think it's really rather simple from a logic standpoint. Just a series of new (x, y, z)'s for bumping. Using the "spawn" functionality has two-fold benefits: one) the basic logic and functionality already exists in the engine and two) it prevents odd situations like getting bumped into water or spawning inside terrain or geometry. Preset "bump points" can be verified safe. There would have to be many points, so you're not likely to get "bumped" to the same place as someone else. To avoid confusing new players, a warning should be issued. "Logging out here will result in your character's relocation" or some such. This would make server hopping impossibly inefficient, and also solve the problem of people "ghosting" into high-value areas in order to ambush players, while still allowing people to log off whenever they want (which is important for people with RL issues like children or irritable bowel syndrome). Thoughts? -

Holy fuck, please no. Counterstrike lets you move like a fucking super hero in a weightless, frictionless world. I don't know what's wrong with your shitty mouse, but the slow pace of DayZ is deliberate. Real human beings can't spin a 180 in 50ms with 50kg of gear weighing them down. -
Anyone know if there will be a char wipe in the upcoming patch?

Okay, what does that have to do with feeding people? -

"End game gear" is such a meaninglessly silly phrase in DayZ. Also, what are you talking about? -
You probably already have one in your bathroom. Go draw yourself a nice warm bubble bath, maybe light some candles, then kick back and enjoy a good book. Come back and play DayZ once your balls are clean and ready for use again.

Resources are infinite, and how was it a risk? You just got done telling us all how your axe was on your back. Like what? There's really not that much to do in the game. It looks nice, and walking is fun, but trust me it gets old after a few hours.

So you regretted not taking a picture of the message, but you also completely failed to take any screenshots during the 10 second long sex animation? Suspicious.

So you were horribly unaware of your surroundings then? Who's the noob again?
