No... the map. Like' date=' in the game. And I provided a very strong hint for using that map to figure out where to go to look for vehicles. I have found 3 different vehicles in the span of about 1000m simply by looking at the map and saying "Oh, gee, that looks like an interesting little nook or cranny. Let me go investigate." I would not use out-of-game maps to look for vehicles. The most "comprehensive" one I found didn't have any of the 3-4 vehicles I know about, and I'm not about to go adding them for everyone to see. No troll. Yes, he's serious. With great effort comes great reward.

With due respect, how would anyone ever provide proof without accessing logs which only the offending admins would have access to? Recorded voice comms can be faked, as can server Side Chat, etc. And screenshots will prove nothing except they have a "bunch of stuff" which they will just claim came from lots of good-ole-fashioned hard work. I won't post the how-to, but come on. Everyone knows exactly how easy it is for admins to duplicate entire tents or vehicles full of items with the flick of a wrist, and I have seen so much evidence of it happening on so many servers it's really disturbing. I've seen admins on 3 different servers happily handing out NVGs and high-powered weapons like they were twix bars, not to mention deliberately disabling their own vehicles when logging off, knowing they can willfully duplicate the parts necessary to repair them when they log back in. It's stupid obvious and there will never be "proof" so we just need to wait for the exploits to be patched or for the team to put up some official servers out of the reach of these self-important admins who abuse their power to no end with no remorse. No, you would be all over the map looking for vehicles you can repair at will with your unlimited vehicle parts, or other players to kill with your unlimited ammo and weapons. I'm not directly accusing you, I have no idea what the details of the situation are, but just "being all over the map looking" is hardly evidence that you're not super-duplicating a ton of items and vehicle parts back at your home base of operations.

Yes, total "bullshit" that a company who employs full time, talented, highly-paid engineers to continually entertain you every day of your life would expect you to compensate them in return so they can feed their families and pay their bills you ridiculous, entitled little turd.

I'm fine with difficulty when it takes the form of interesting challenges, not simply frustrating tedium. Why not start with nothing, half blood, no food/water and a low body temperature? All of that would certainly make the game "more difficult," right? Well, yeah, but it would also be a ridiculous pain in the ass. I want interesting challenges. Things that challenge me mentally and socially. Pit me against other players. Force me into situations that require cooperation - perhaps even with those I don't trust. Don't just throw me into a pile of neck-deep shit and say "Look how he struggles! Isn't it challenging and exciting?" No, no it isn't. -

80 DMR rounds can be had in about 45 minutes hitting a circuit of deer stands. My friend will do this for me while I go prone and snipe' date=' continuously, every single ever-loving weaponless survivor that graces the beach. By the time I'm even close to out of ammo, my friend will swing by and drop off 80 more noob party poppers. The fun will never end. Trust me. I would be willing to support spawning with nothing BUT a weapon, but spawning weaponless is a terrible idea. [hr'] Source for this? My understanding was that INITIAL zombie aggro was limited by LOS, not that they will lose track of you if you get out of their sight after making them angry. -

Can I ask what your source is for this, and how old the information is? I can see this being the case for early testing, but now that they rolled them out on hundreds and hundreds of servers I really doubt it remains a completely manual process. That would be unsustainable. -
Where do you spend your time? They don't just pop up in the middle of town, generally. Find a map and study it. I have had a lot of luck with "house at the end of the road" type places. Seek and ye shall find. Of course, unless you have an engine, 4 wheels, scrap metal, fuel tank and at least one jerry can you're going to have to get lucky and find one partially repaired. Or, you can always steal someone else's ride.

I'd donate $100 now if rocket offered to set up a few official servers, and I would pay $59.99 on release and then probably be willing to toss a few more bucks in on cosmetic accessories like shades, hats, tattoos, etc.

For as much bitching, moaning and gimme, gimme, gimme as I hear out of the "hardcore" gamers around here, we could do with a little fresh blood in my opinion. Then, with due respect, gamers "like yourself" are naive and woefully short-sighted. Indie games have every bit the capacity to suck as mainstream games do, and mainstream games have brought us some of the most amazing, memorable experiences in the industry. Tried and true gamers - gamers like myself don't spend our time sitting around passing judgement on other gamers. We don't fight about XBOX vs. PS3 vs. PC vs. mobile. We play all sorts of games and have all kinds of experiences and meet all sorts of people and have a ton of fun doing it. We're not elitist assholes who define ourselves by how much better we think we are than those we deem as being "other" for whatever arbitrary reason we pull out of our pants. We play Halo, and CoD, and BF3 on one day and lo-and-behold that doesn't stop us from showing up the next and playing OFP or Mount & Blade or Civilization and those don't keep us away from Limbo, Braid, Bastion, SMB, Mount & Blade, etc., etc. Hell, we'll even play a sports game if the mood is right. And, yes, we even play WoW. So how about this? How about chill the fuck out and relax. How about we're all here for the same thing? To try out this thing called DayZ and see what it's all about and help rocket weed out the bugs, exploits and drop our 2 cents on new features and mechanics. rocket clearly has it under control. He doesn't need you to tell him who to listen to and who to ignore. I'm pretty sure he can puzzle that out on his own and if the conclusion he comes to doesn't quite match up with your preconceptions of who he is and what he plans for DayZ which is most certainly going to be the case? You can decide to suck it up and enjoy it anyway, or go fuck off to some other game. You're a free person just like the rest of us. I like you more and more every day... -
Please set NYC 8 to restart every 3 hours

Server runs great after a restart, but about ~12 hours in it starts burping everyone's connection every 15 minutes like clockwork. Seems like a 3-6 hour regular restart would make this server much more consistently playable. Thanks! -

Completely anecdotal, but my first ~20 survivors lived for 30m-90m on average, while my last 2 have been 6 days (~30 hours in game) and 14 days (~70 hours in game) respectively. I'm just playing more cautiously and learning from every single death. -

Then stop playing it like CoD if that's not what you want? My last survivor lived for 12 days' date=' 60+ hours in-game. How is that "CoDish?" Yes, because rockets definitely into telling people what to do. You know, it's not like that's exactly the opposite of what he has said he plans on doing.

Really? 'cause Incentives for Cooperative Play seem abundant to me. There's a ton already, and we're only in Alpha. Pretty good sign for the future.
