    Best ways to find game

    One tip... Look down at the ground, and check for little white dots on the edges of your screen ;) (Seriously!). This doesn't work on veteran servers though :) Also, don't wait until you need them! Kill & cook meat, and keep 3 min. in your pack at all times - then if you get low blood, you can eat enough to give you some vision back - enough to survive till you find an animal, at least :)

    Hey, I'd check our 'The Silent Warrior' dayz tool - it allows you to create protected zones... Or, if you want to do it manually, have you tried this? http://dayz.st/w/Protected_Dome

    My first experience attempting to be a nice guy.

    Don't tell someone new that you are about to go afk... If you have to leave, log briefly to the lobby - ideally NOT letting them see where you despawned! Or, test a noob first - say your going afk and do so... whilst your hidden friend covers with a dmr or similar from a way back ;) If the guy proves to be friendly, slowly up the trust levels ;)

  6. Thanks! - We had to remove the AI island (lag!), but there is a NEW AI BASE over at Green Mountain... Try to raid it IF you think you can handle it!!!

    How about our server? Active friendly admins, AI base (enemy AI), Whitelisted (see sigy link below for applications), Rmod, extra buildings, and lootable weapons crates at the AI base IF... and only IF, you can raid the place and survive! (no need to do this, it's just extra gameplay if people want to!). If you are interested, check the link in my sigy for our thread!

    How about ours? Our server recently re-launched - active admins (spanning 2 timezones), some cool features (AI bases, auto-fuel on mouse scroll at fuel pumps, etc), and most of the players are friendly. We are also whitelisted, and the server is on mainland europe :D (I'm in the UK myself, get a decent ping!). The players are mainly friendly... but bandits ARE allowed - any sign of hacking though, and our admins don't mess around :D Click the siggy link if you are interested! :D Oh, and we have a strict no voice in side rule, and no teamspeak as yet, but even when TS is live, it won't be mandatory!) - voice in direct or vehicle is obviously fine!

    Good servers

    It's fine to ask noob questions, especially in the new players section! I would first decide what sort of server you want to play on? rmod enabled? (not hacked, just extra gear), PvP/KoS? (Player vs Player with Kill on Sight), or more teamwork based? Or ones with clans/feud's? There are servers for just about every scenario :D I would just start playing, and like I mentioned in another thread, note down the servers, and scribble some thoughts on the style of gameplay on that server... Then pick the one(s) you like best!

    Don't lose heart! Not all servers are full of KoS style players! Just keep trying different servers, make a note of the server, and what the play style seems to be like... It shouldn't take too long to find one that's to your liking!

Although there will likely be bandits, we are trying to encourage co-operation on the server, and encourage survivors to make camps, and try to survive as best they can. If anyone needs help downgrading to 1.7.5.1, feel free to email me: admin@petuniaserver.com We will look to sort dayz 1.7.6.1 ASAP, however as we only just managed to migrate all the gear over etc, it will be a day or so until we manage to do that. Well, I am sorry, but because: You seemingly just went straight to vehicles, without deviating at all You went straight to a base, that was quite out of the way Your guys all suddenly had loads of amazing gear inc as50's with lots of ammo (way more than you find on a crash site!) even though you had only been on for 30mins Battleye kicked you for hacking (not admin) EVERY player on the game got a pop-up window with some dodgy looking code in it All the above means that, unfortunately, the admin ban remains in place. We have some loyal players, and we need to protect them. No hard feelings, and I wish you guys all the best - but under the circumstances, I owe it to our survivors to keep the ban in place. I wish you all the best elsewhere though! :)
  17. As far as I am aware, Zombies can still see you, yup :) Not sure if it makes you LESS visible to Zombies, or not - but it certainly helps when hiding from players :P Not as much as a ghille does though!

  20. Hi Christophe! Well, we will be maintaining this server still, even on standalone launch, yes. We may also run a server for the standalone game as well, so both can be played :D

Actually, you used map hacks to run directly to a hidden chopper, then used map hacks to locate and kill some survivors, then used map hacks to go straight to a base - all straight lines, no deviation etc. PLUS when you got to a base, EVERY player on the server saw your/your friend's hack pop up (screenshot attached), and then battleye (NOT me as the admin) kicked you FOR HACKING. So, you were then banned. Every player on the server, INCLUDING THE BANDITS welcomed your ban, as you were hacking. Plus you spawned yourselves as50 with a crazy amount of rounds, NVG's, coyote packs etc, all within half an hour (as you yourself point out in your post!) of being on the server. The ban was actually JUST on our server, but since you felt the need to try to post here and bad mouth us I will submit your ban to the global ban list, along with the proof (logs of battleye kick, and screenshot of your friends hack). BANDITS ARE WELCOME ON OUR SERVER, IT'S PART OF GAMEPLAY - HACKERS GET BANNED, END OF. Proof: Thank you, and goodbye!
  22. Hi guys! Any ideas why when I run a beidi file through the 3d to 2d converter, it changes the co-ords? Like: Beidi: POSITION="[3721.9106, 14501.003, 0]"; TYPE="Land_A_Castle_Bergfrit"; Mission that is given after conversion: position[]={3721.9106, 0, 14501.003}; vehicle="Land_A_Castle_Bergfrit"; Any thoughts would be appreciated!
  23. Hi :) Ahhh that makes sense! I did try those steps before, but slightly different (opening server sqm in 2d editor, and using merge option), but I didn't know about the init stuff!!! So, in the setVectorUp I add to the init section, would i take the Z coordinate from the 3d editor to know what the altitude of the object should be? Is that how iI measure it? Thanks again for all your help :D
  24. Hi :) Ahhh okay, I think I understand a little more now. So, are there ANY tools at all to help with this, or any guides? I have access to the dayz mission pbo and the server pbo (dayz,st is the host), so would that be enough access for me to add the init fields? I am wondering if it is just a case of using the 3d editor, converting to 2d, then trial and error adding the setPos and setVectorUp ? Would that be in the sqm file? Sorry to be a pain, but I am more than happy to learn what needs to be done, if someone could point me in the right direction :D Thanks so much for your help so far! Oh, and happy new year!!!
