Back in my day we had no such thing as a loot map, just a makarov and a whole weekend to learn rough russian and walk around getting lost and being excited by every building we saw.

i have a problem. I extract the files into both "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead" When i launch (Using Dayz commander) i get a CTD?

This is how i play: First look at map, i plan a route using just a compass direction and angle to where i want to be, then use a chem light as they produce a LOT less light and cna only be seen withen a few metres away from it and carry that with my main gun, when approaching the destination i THROW the flares around the area lighting it up and since it's more then one anyone with NvG's become blinded giving me enough time to run in with my flare. If it's not picture black i dont usually carry a chem light

i man up. Play at night without the video and gamma tweaks and just get on with it

Ok i notice a lot of people getting kicked for this script error, i was to and this simple quick fix works for me! if you've tried this already sorry to get your hopes up, if not give this a try!! On Dayz commander go to "Install/Update" Click on "Reinstall" for Arma 2 beta patch (second one from the top) Follow all the instructions then join a server! *This is a once time fix, after you return to a lobby or leave all together you must reinstall the beta patch each time* Happy bean eating! =)

i know i loved it ^.^ to the OP, i would suggest letting you have shout outs for songs, or just a shout out in general to link to the players (like the old one you could get somethign said on air) and you could even report in bandit locations on servers! man i miss that guy

there was a guy that did this, he role played and broadcasted from the same church, could even ask for shoutouts and songs!

the problem is: Resoruces to bountiful, people to scared to loose easily obtained high end gear, i suggest playing 2017, a mod for Dayz which makes loot so much rare most people trade

Medic needs people to fly with me in chopper!

TMW stationed me in the NW covering starry to guba, i consider myself most home up there after 3 months of that one area but roam anywhere, still get that coming home feeling tho!

Being a medic im tied to public hive for patients, in the past 5 days i've gone through 10 choppers, 3 pains of NvG's GPS's etc, 2 buses, 1 car, 3 ATV's, 2 boats 1 peddle bike.......you get use to it :P

i edited the config so it's constently zoomed out in first person, Trying to land a heli in first person servers is always a challenge but one i enjoy, makes the game harder but everyones on the same playing field

See thats the difference, i've played so long and had so many choppers and high end gear i dont really care about gear, not as attached as you are :P

Never KoS, yes i die a lot but what people don't understand is that the true joy of dayz is not PvP as this is offered in numerious other games, it's not the looting as again this is in tons of other games it's the social interaction between players. talking to two russians equally as high geared as you both scared of losing it (as you are) but you spend 10 minutes talking in jumbled up english and a bit of russian trying to understand each other near the NWAF and then healing them up, sharing food and giving cords of vehicles and tents to each other that might come in useful then both parties leaving unharmed - most scariest 10 minutes ever on Dayz, also the best. Meeting someone and talking, trying to help each other, gear up and move out, going seperate ways or just talking randomly and sharing local information and even god damn trading is so unique in this game that i dont ever shoot. simply so that maybe 1 out of 50 people wont shoot back and i can enjoy that glimer of sweet sweet gameplay.

I've learnt that female characters use the fact it's a female skin to try and get closer or befriend you before backstabbing you, male characters just shoot you when i say "hey i'm a medic im friendly" Female characters seem to go along with being friendly until they get where they need or what they want, not sterotyping just talking from experience in game
