I haven't seen a night server in like a week, where did they go?

I remember disabling touchpad on my laptop for DayZ Mod, it made me fire my gun randomly sometimes lol. How do I disable it in the standalone? It was disabled from the start I think but all of sudden it is enabled again. Also, I am too poor for a decent desktop, forgive me for playing on a laptop :P.

That didn't work man, all day. I play on GB, DE, NL servers most of the time, US has a too high ping.

Is there a fix?

10 drinks is not enough, what I usually do is drink water at a pump until it says im stuffed. Then play the game for a bit then eat a whole bunch of cans.

You need to eat and drink as much as possible, even when it doesnt say you are hungry, keep eating and drinking. Then after a short while you will get 'healing' and start to regenerate blood.

Hello everyone. How can I edit the trees to look much less nice? Currently I am playing with 15 - 23 fps, depending on the area. I can play fine in the cities and on the fields, but the trees... they take a huge hit on my fps, sometimes lowering it to 12. Is there any way outside the ingame settings to lower the textures of just the trees? I play DayZ on my laptop, because I am not that wealthy at the moment to afford a nice desktop to play games on. In 1,5 years I will be done with college and it seems that I will get a nice job which will make me wealthy enough to get that decent computer! I hope you guys can help me out!

Most survivors are extremly awkward and rather startled when the diplomacy begins. If you can act a little bit, you can make it more fun by telling them what to do. I have two examples. I was in the northwest in a small town. I was fighting a zombie inside a house, I killed it, and without thinking I walked out of the door. Right in front of me were two armed guys, using the waterpump. I had the upperhand and could have killed them both. I was cornered, and my only way out was passed them because of a wall. I aimed my gun at them, realised they did not see me and I quickly retreated into the house and waited until they left. If they would have seen me I would have shot at them, for my own protection. Example 2, I was approaching a town, and in front of me, out of nowhere, came a guy, he did not see me, but I did see him. I was slightly in the woods, so he wouldnt really see me, nor be able to instantly kill me. So I called out to him with voice chat, we talked and looted the town together. Here is a pic. I could have just shot this guy and taken his loot, but he was no threat to me, killing him ruins this game. If you feel like killing folk, at least talk to them before you do it.

Not the right thing, but its ok because you didnt kill him for fun.

I really appreciate the help guys, have my beans! But is there really no manual way to do this? I remember a post from a guy who removed the grass in the dayz files (I wont do that cuz its ugly).

Im looking for lowering the details of the trees only. These settings will lower the rest of the game aswell.

The goal is to have 100 people on the servers. I think for stability reasons it is now lowered to 40 people max.

Hello, I have a problem with the FPS I am getting in the standalone. When playing the mod, I get 30 FPS most of the time, the standalone however.. only gives me 12-18 FPS. I am not sure why this is.. I think the settings are basically the same. Any idea what causes this?

Since the game has come out, I have played on only 1 character. I have encountered around 7 players, all of these were friendly. I have encountered two bandits who tried to kill me, they really did their best, I killed one of them in self defence. For me this was the best balance. I encounter friendly folk (I think the lack of bullets plays a part here) and the moments someone does start shooting at you.. well thats the thrill of the game! Here some proof:

Indeed, its a videogame, why do you need to "come out" to them? Unless the guys are always talking about pussy, then in that case I think you should just deal with it. Btw most people don't care if someone is gay.

You have 30 fps in the cities, why are you complaining. I would love 30 fps.

Hello, I have this pistol > http://dayz.gamepedia.com/FNX45 It should be able to use 45 acp rounds. I have those, and I have the gun, but I cannot put the rounds in the gun. Please help ?

I love the masks, not that I wear them myself, I love them because it instantly tells me something about the player I am encountering. Someone who plays this game for the survival aspect of the game, won't wear such a mask. Only the COD buddies do that, so I know to not make contact with them.

I would kill for 30 fps.

I have a nice green pen and some paper, when I use the pen on the note, nothing happens! I have seen screenshots here of people who did write a note or found one.. so it should be in the game.
