the great thing about napalm is it isn't explosive and only the area exposed to air actually burns. It's effectiveness comes when it splashes and spreads about suddenly exposed to the air, instantly igniting, sticking to every surface and burning at extreme temperatures. So you could for example hold an old bean can or a bucket full of the stuff, light it and then drop it from a chopper or rooftop quite safely, the energy released by the force of the impact 'detonating' the bomb. The chances of hurting yourself are slim, unless say you were too close or shot or knocked by a zed mid throw, then you'd surely wish to god you hadn't bothered with it. EDIT maybe leave a couple of napalm filled bean cans in a strategic position, then, once a poor unsuspecting bandit/survivor/hero passes by throw a molotov cocktail. (this would give the fabled bean can a slightly sinister twist). Or light a campfire and drop/throw a few balloons full of unlit napalm onto it, or wait for a player to light his fire then just as he's reaching for the steaks WOOF, flambee. I reckon there might be many ways to inflict serious harm with some gasoline, a little sugar, a naked flame and a bit of imagination.

If my old chemistry teacher is to be believed all you need is petroleum and sugar to make a rough form of napalm, both of these ingredients would be pretty easy to source. I don't think the military grade 'raining death from above' type of ordinance would suit dayz at all, but smaller less devastating bomblets could feasibly be dropped from a chopper and would definitely add something new and interesting to the game.

I think you're right, the SA will have issues, it is being rushed and BIS have a track record that suggests the first release will need attention. Having said that the DayZmod has been out there for months with hundreds of thousands of players clocking up millions of gaming hours finding problems and enabling the dev team to learn tons of valuable lessons. ArmA2 has been out there for years. It would be extremely pessimistic to believe that the SA will fail to improve on the mod, and warz? well lol, that was rushed out even more quickly and attatched to an even more broken engine so improving on that is a given.

Even if the DayZ standalone only manages to be a 0.0001% improvement on DayZmod it will literally dump an ocean of diarrhea all over Warz Wankz and will proceed to pile insult on top of injury by wiping it's dripping arse beard across the keyboards of all those poor unfortunate souls that spent good money on Wankz only to discover what the rest of us already knew.

I know the feeling as far as vehicle fails go dude, i feel your pain. i was given a fully repaired fully fuelled chopper the other day by a kind soul who'd spent hours fixing it up for me. Within 3 mins i had lost it by landing by a crash site, i killed the engines, jumped out to engage zeds and noticed with horror that my new heli was sliding down the gentle slope. I managed to jump in but wasn't given the start engine option so I sat there, dumbstruck as it slid into the trees. As it came to rest in amongst the pinetrees the fkn engine starts up and despite frantic mousewheel spinning i get no option to stop it. Booom!!! QQ

last night i was dying of starvation, I sneaked past the zeds at the NEAF and killed a goat with my silenced weapon. i clicked 'gut animal' and the animation began, unfortunately this triggered aggro from 3 zeds. Nothing I did would interrupt the gutting process and I died. It should be possible to stop whatever it is you are doing - refueling, gutting etc - to interrupt the animation so you can move away or defend yourself. In a real life situation if I was filling my car with fuel and someone began shooting at me I wouldn't ignore it and carry on fueling up, I'd drop the jerry can and run for cover immediately, or go for a weapon and return fire, this should be possible in-game too.
