Love this patch overall, there are some bugs but the positives far outweigh the negatives. For the next patch can you just focus on the bugs? In particular fix the Zeds ability to move through solid structures - the worst bug of all and personally cannot believe this has not been fixed months ago -
my favourite cannibal scene in a movie is the cellar scene from 'The road', where a group of cannibals have imprisoned a bunch of survivors and keep them as a kind of living larder. They just come and take limbs and stuff from them whenever they fancy a roast. Be sweet if in dayz you could keep other survivors like that, be able to remove limbs to eat but treat them with bandages/blood/morphine so they don't die. it would be up to their clan mates to come and rescue them or they just have to wait until they eventually do die after say 3 limbs are taken.

definitely mate, i think it would be a good thing, i hate the over emotional doo gooders who want to dictate to everyone else what is right and wrong, but they exist and they are vocal and on this issue they will win

Like I said I'm all for having kid zeds and characters but the fact remains that there are those folks who will not feel too comfortable about a game where one of the features is to execute little children with military grade weaponry. Is it too much of a stretch for the imagination to have a back story where there are no kids because the kids were evac'd out and the few that did get infected were shot by locals in the immediate aftermath? just saying.

there is already an awesome poll on this subject. Personally i don't mind if there are zed kids or not, or even players kid characters for that matter (be nice if you had a character who looked your rl age), but i do understand why some folks would have an issue with it, and i get why a corporation would shy away from releasing a game where you get to waste kids, especially in the wake of that school shooting in the states. As for realism you could just say as part of the back story that all the kids were evacuated after the outbreak.

OP nailed it dayzmod is at last approaching the game it was always meant to be. I laugh now when I see panicked bandits running from zeds with their hatchet out, you can almost read their thoughts - 'what the fuck is going on???? we'll see about this, I'm off to the forums to vent my rage, how dare they make zombies a challenge, how dare they force us to think long and hard before we set out to achieve our goals!' and 'why is that survivor looking so satisfied?' -
Well done, you took some brave decisions and it payed off. my clanmates and I have been drifting around from Dayz variant to Dayz variant for a few weeks now, some of them are pretty good and origins in particular kept us interested for a while but this patch has got us back into the best version of the best mod ever created. Zombies are now a threat to be taken seriously :thumbsup: Boiling water to make it safe? :thumbsup: New guns and vehicles :thumbsup: Flip back ATV :thumbsup: We love these and all the other changes, they all improve the experience so, thankyou Dayzmod origins Original

trouble is cherno has a real time day/night cycle, so for it to fit the realism of the game you'd be needing 4 - 6 hours sleep every 24 hours

not all bad admins are stupid, some are smart. Yep, fair point Orlok. But it isn't always that obvious, I used to play with a guy that had his own server, he kept getting all these kills, kept 'finding' all this stuff, guns, helis, camps etc. I was a noob, i just assumed he was very good at Dayz, as he grew to trust me he began to brag about how he did it. I never played with him or on his server again. since then I've met a few, once I was watching a squad on thier twitch channel as they hunted me on their clan server (they forgot twitch was running lol) I couldn't believe it when they began talking about what gear I had and where i was, all info they were getting from logs. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Too tempting for many to resist i guess, once they start it soon snowballs. These 'tools' have no place in a video game, by 'tools' i mean the admin server apps and the admins using them. -

Agreed with OP, this issue doesn't recieve anywhere near enough attention. Admin abuse is not just about unfair banning although that is a real problem, but also abuse of access to logs that enable admins to locate players, vehicles and camps. It is a form of legalized hacking that need to be made impossible with the SA -
how about, instead of the 'washed up on shore' back story we have a 'jumped out of crashing plane' back story when you spawn in you are plummeting towards the earth, you must try to guide your character to a safe landing spot and choose when to deploy the chute.

the planes could actually 'crash' in the debug planes somewhere (or in other words vanish), it's only that you jump out over the map. There doesn't have to be plane models, you spawn in after 'jumping', so you are just falling from the sky.
