    I get a bit OCD too lol. i go 1 in inventory, 3 in backpack if i have a czeck or coyote, 2 for other packs. It depends on whether you spend a lot of time in citys, right now i'm kind of hanging around the North west so i carry 4 (boiled) water bottles, once i get down to 1 left i embark on a refill and boil mission. I enjoy hunting rabbits, cos they're tricky and give good blood, i try to have a minimum of 4 on me, again once i get down to one left i go on a rabbit hunt mission. I also attempt to kill every rabbit i see so occasionally i can have up to 7 - 8 on me. If you spend a lot of time around towns with supermarkets then you can get away with a couple of cans and tins.

    What do they mean by "Completely redone"?

    Dayz is a mod, made by one guy with a bit of help in his spare time to just try out some ideas....... and it turned out to be maybe the most original and fun to play game of 2012. Warz was a botched rip off of the dayz idea using a shitty broken engine, it sucks on rusty sphincter holes all day long. The standalone is being made by the original creative genius and a team of pros with the support and backing of a major developer, they have decided to improve everything they feasibly can and will lock down code to reduce/eliminate scripting, redoing the animations, extending the map, opening most of the buildings, redesigning the spawn system, thinking about adding dogs and tons of other improvements which will be steadily added to the initial release. Do you see the difference, how on earth do you think it could be anywhere near as shocking as warz, even if it's hallf as good as the mod it'll curl down a steaming turd onto warz.

    very excited that you are re-doing the animations, this will definitely give the SA a more professional polished feel to it, i love arma but the animations are a little clunky, i suppose for a military sim that works well but dayz need more fluidity. Take your time with this project, the longer we wait the sweeter the first play will be, i am actually one of the few who wouldn't want a beta key, i want to experience the initial release in all it's glory with my SA virginity in tact.

    Must be a sad and lonely existence where a loser feels the need to artificially 'win' in order to top up his depleted self esteem. You see script kiddies are just shit at games, so low on skill and completely bereft of any desire to improve that skill that they feel compelled to resort to cheating, funny thing is they are only really cheating themselves. If a script kiddie kills you don't worry, you bear no blame, you did nothing wrong, you had no chance so don't sweat it, just take comfort from the fact that it has been scientifically proven that kids who cheat at games are far more likely to fail in life too. While they are sitting alone in thier darkened room, congratulating themselves on another well executed script assisted kill people like us are busily getting better at the game, and at life. When the standalone comes they will be back to square one, just shit gamers who'll be left behind, crippled by thier own inherent laziness. edit - Fun fact #1371 - Script kiddies are known to cry themselves to sleep at night, all sticky bellied and sweaty after knocking one out over thoughts of their mom.

    Shitty kill, zeds did most of the damage, took no skill or brains, took no courage or guile. Nothing gained so wasn't even an act of banditry. 3 minutes of my life i won't get back.

    What's the point?

    i still play on public and private servers and i die a lot from hackers on the public hive. I simply view hacking related deaths as unfortunate but inevitable events that signal the end of that particular characters life. I used to get pissed off but soon realised that feeling anger or rage or hate etc was only making me feel bad and fed the hackers weird need for a reaction. Now i just go make a cup of tea, take a piss and get busy restarting my new characters adventure. The trick for me anyhow is to not mind and to accept that that hackers exist and are really only cheating themselves by pretending that they are winning at a computer game.

    You make good points. I for one would like to see leg breaks that require a crafted splint and crutch to walk on, maybe not for 6 weeks but certainly for a few hours. The fact is that with a broken leg and the decreased mobility a player will probably be killed pretty quickly. I agree also that after running for a certain distance your character should reach the point where he simply must stop, this could be affected by things like weight of gear, hunger/thirst and environment temperature etc, would also like to see some type of fitness mechanics based on how well you eat and how much exercise you do, walk/run everywhere and eat sensibly then you are an athlete, Drive everywhere and eat too much then you become fat and unfit. Eat too little, wait for the hunger indicator to flash for 10 mins before you eat? weak and feeble. Again i like the idea of boiling water taking more time, you could light a fire, pop the kettle on, go kill an animal and return with some fresh meat and cook that while the water cools, maybe add hot water or coffee/tea as a way to keep warm too for that matter. Drying wet clothes is another feature id like to see, as a way of reducing the risk of getting sick from the cold. I do all of the navigation manually when i play solo, unfortunately many of my friends have become hopelessly dependent on the usual crutches - 3rd person, crosshairs, waypoints etc so i do play on pussy servers quite a lot, i think that most folks are inherently lazy and if given a choice will always take the easy route, take away the choice and those same people will exert the required effort if the rewards are great enough, with dayz those rewards are certainly worth the effort.

    i don't think a players location should flash up on the screen when you join a server either, get rid of all the crutches and see what happens, if that unfortunate few who're unable or unwilling to learn how to map read piss off to warz then that can only increase the average quality of the community, i see no problem with that.

    no magical green numbers on the screen please. I use gps to get from a to b in real life but unfortunately endless millennia of natural selection mutations failed to evolve my ass a built in heads up display in my brain box. Try as i might i can't get no waypoint to float around in front of my eyes to guide me to where i need to go, and therefore it should not exist in a hardcore survival simulator.

    WRONG!! It took me a few attempts to 'work out' how best to deal with zeds, i died several times as i 'learned' how to deal with them. If you are slow and patient it is possible to loot the NWAF, cherno, elektro, anywhere in fact either solo or as a group, as long as you take it slow and don't get impatient trying to run about to speed things up. The trick is don't shoot, if you get Aggro by multiple zeds then drag them out of the area into the trees and stealth back in. I spent 2 - 3 hours looting the NWAF and a couple of crash sites solo the other night, armed with only a hatchet i got myself a decent primary, nvg's and a coyote pack among other things and i didn't die.

  17. poll question is misleading the thread title asks - 'Admins that spawn stuff to be "Helpful". Yes or no?' the poll question simply says - 'Like helpfull admins' they are two different questions! my answers are yes i like helpful admins but no i do not like admins who teleport or spawn stuff.
