  1. Recently updated with an install video and now supports beta if installed: http://www.richardbenson.co.uk/2012/05/dayz-launcher-and-updater.html#.T9R-PtVYvgc NOTE: This launcher was using a different mirror than the one infected. Furthermore it only downloads .rar files and not .exe files, so wouldn't have put the file on your machine anyway. My launcher is also open source (link in above blog post) so anyone who wants to can check out what it does if they're worried, all the heavy lifting is done in DayZ-Launcher/Launcher.cs
  2. Most of them require you to do something (like select where Arma is installed) or click to update and then click again to play' date=' or you have to make your own shortcut with This one is just a desktop shortcut to DayZ that will auto-download, update and then run. So it's just the simplest way of all of the ones I have seen or tried. @Ander: Understood, for anyone else wondering, the source is available[1'], linked in the post or below. Plus it's on my personal site, which has links to my workplace, so I'm being far from anonymous here :). My other public software includes YAMS[2] which has over 600 concurrent servers running[3]. Happy to provide any additional details people want to ask. I just made this because it's what I wanted for myself. 3. There was a problem if you had installed Arma to "Program Files" on Windows 7 with UAC enabled. The launcher will now request UAC access only if it needs it (i.e. there is an update to do and you have installed to something under Program Files). Normal day-to-day running or installs outside of protected directories will not need to prompt for UAC access.
  4. Happy to accept bug reports through any medium' date=' here, reddit[1'] or github[2]. [1] http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/u379t/dayz_allinone_launcher_and_updater_no_input_or/ [2] https://github.com/richardbenson/DayZ-Launcher/issues If you were getting an unhandled exception, it's likely because I hasn't catered for OA and vanilla being installed to different locations. That has now been corrected and the app will update itself when next run.
  5. Hi all, I made a launcher that keeps DayZ up to date and launches Arma with the correct parameters, so you just install, click and that's it. Once started there are no clicks, no selecting the path to Arma (works on all types of install; Steam, retail, amazon etc.), no clicking to check for updates and no modification of shortcuts required. http://www.richardbenson.co.uk/2012/05/dayz-launcher-and-updater.html Will add a DayZ icon to your desktop, if you don't have the mod installed it will download it for you, if the files need updating it will get these and extract for you, once extracted the files will also be deleted. Will check for updates every time you launch but if there is no update this happens so fast you won't even see the splash screen. Edit: There was a problem if you had installed Arma to "Program Files" on Windows 7 with UAC enabled. The launcher will now request UAC access only if it needs it (i.e. there is an update to do and you have installed to something under Program Files). Normal day-to-day running or installs outside of protected directories will not need to prompt for UAC access.
