QQ, Zed. If you think there have been no improvements, you're fooling yourself. The AI is miles ahead of where it was. It still has miles to go, sure. But it's way better. Also, am I the only one who has no issues with melee? Short of giving up on the pitchfork, the axes are pretty easy to wield. -
I know what the purpose of experimental build is, I was just confirming it had occurred. Thanks.

Yes, absolutely. Were you* expecting a finished product? This allows (some of) us to provide valuable feed back to the dev team, rooting out bugs and glitches much faster than they would be found with only 100 or less players. Are there lots of bug? Yes! But look at how unbelievably complex this game is compared with say, Battlefield or Call of Duty. In those games you can move around, shoot and that's about it. In dayz you can move around, shoot, interact with the environment, craft, loot, etc. This creates infinitely more possible bugs. Imagine if they had not opened up the game; development time would triple. They would have the same amount of work, a smaller team and no budget. *I mean the collective 'You', not you personally. -

I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. Ever since the last update, I have been dying in the top of ATCs. The first time, I thought it was just a sniper. Unusual to not hear anything, but hey. Maybe it was a long range headshot. The second time I was suspicious. Immediate death with no sounds at all. No Windows breaking, no snap, no thud from the round, Nothing. Just a "My leg is in extreme pain" message. This has now happened to me 4 times. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I had just cleared the top of the stairs and was trying to grab a bag on the floor. On a related note, the staircase in the East Elektro Fire hall just ate my legs. I'm now crawling west looking for sticks XD -

Dawg, I am reasonably confident that it's not a sniper. Not once have I had a first round miss, or been injured, or even heard anything. The last time it happened, I even sat in the menu for 20 minutes, listening for someone to come loot. Nothing. It has to be some sort of bug. -

Good thing Gibonez is here to horribly over complicate things! Here's my experience with real world shooting in a military environment. I have a C79 optical sight with 3.4x magnification. It's calibrated for 5.56mm platforms, and it has a range dial from 200 to 800 m. There is a simple aiming post to tell me where rounds will hit. While I do have windage and elevation adjustment, you never use it once you have zeroed yourself at 100 m. That's it. That's all you need to know to shoot out to 500m with 5.56. The nice thing about military rifles is that they make them simple. Simple enough that some 18 year old kid can figure it out with a little training. You need to know what MoA is, or any of that other shit. -
Stetson (Stetsons are COOL), checked shirt with chest holster, brown hunters pants and wellies, 1911 with 3 mags, and a green Ruger/sporter .22 with 300 rounds. Plus medical supplies and a can opener/canteen. The 1911 is for a little close range stopping power in case of players, the .22 for everything else, including players. (That's what head shots are for) edit: THERE'S A LARGE MAG FOR THE SPORTER?? I need it.

At all but the most extreme ranges, air pressure and humidity would have almost no effect. Based on the current selection of weapons in game and the average engagement distances, wind, range and relative elevation would be the only relevant factors. -
Oh my god. Well, I'm still alive somehow, but I'm in a world of pain, and could use some recommendations. Here's the story: I'm on my own, making my way through NE Airfield when I'm shot (I think). I hear the impact and take a colossal amount of damage while bleeding, and I get the status that my leg is in pain. I bandage, take two painkillers and somehow manage to escape the airfield. I decode to make my way up north to Svetlojarsk to try and get medical supplies. While I'm there, I get mauled by several zombies and have to repeatedly bandage. Finally, I get smacked by ANOTHER zombie and she breaks my damned arm. So now, my whole world is 50 shades of gray, my leg is in pain, my arm is broken and in extreme pain, I'm dehydrated and hungry and have no idea how to treat my injuries. Somebody please help! I have never been in quite this terrible shape. I'm honestly not sure how I'm even alive at this point.

You lost me when you said bipods don't improve accuracy. They absolutely do. A bipod creates a much more stable shooting platform which reduces spread. This increases your precision. Accuracy is up to the shooter to aim in the right spot. -

Even if it did, the temperature created by firing the round should burn off most contaminants.
