Initially I agreed with you, but then I remembered how great Call of Duty was, and what happened to that franchise.

Awesome! My favourite server! I look forward to seeing you in-game! It will be nice to meet a real bandit, not just someone who kills without reason. At least you try to control players.

You just have to drop the whole "@DayzDespair" folder into the same folder the rest of your "@DayZwhatever" ones are in, then launch it through the OA beta. Once you are in the menu, open your mods menu and enable the one called DayZ Despair. If you have any more questions, PM me so I don't hijack the thread.

First person only, full day and night cycle, no nametags, no side chat. Modified terrain including expanded cities and military camps. Re-worked loot tables including the removal of most military weapons. No GPS, no Rangefinder, no NVG's. Gotta use flares. Rare ammo, rarer weapons. Cans of food are uncommon, forcing you to live off the land. At night, your temperature gauge works, forcing you to move from building to building, or to make use of fire to stay warm. Medical supplies are uncommon, with antibiotics being very rare (Don't get sick!) There are no self bloodbags or any of that other BS. This is a seriously hardcore version of DayZ. EDIT: You would think that I created this mod, the way I promote it. I swear I didn't, i just want more players to enjoy hardcore modes.

Keep that mentality Jock. It is infinitely more challenging to be a hero than a bandit. You start to face questions such as "do I keep my gps on my person while I help people, or do I leave it behind and navigate by compass?" Lately I've been playing DayZ Despair which really ramps up the pressure to survive, especially at night when freezing to death is a real threat, and that has changed the pvp dynamic. It still happens, for sure, but the battles are much more intense struggles, because vehicles are so goddamned hard to get running they're actually worth killing over.

I'm just going to say that breaching a door with a rifle or pistol round would be extremely difficult at best. A real breaching round in a shotgun is a specialized type of round that is designed to obliterate the locking mechanism and stay inside the door so that it doesn't injure any occupants in the room. A rifle round is such a small projectile that it would likely punch straight through the door only causing minimal damage to the lock. A more practical solution IMO would be to have a breaching or 'Hooligan' kit. I don't think he means the rate of traverse, I think he means the character animation seems fast forwarded.

Try DayZ Despair. There is a thread on this forum about it. It is an extremely hardcore version, with forced first person, no side chat, no tags, totally reworked loot tables with nvgs and gps removed, as well as many of the high end military loot gone. It's the best version of DayZ I have ever played. Oh, and they got the temperature fixed somehow, so you actually have to worry about survival at night now. They have also removed unlimited fuel from tanks now, you will never find more than 80-100L in any tank, forcing you to conserve fuel.

15 to 20 tops.
