They are abusing people's stupidity, it's as simple as that. Too many people download stuff (not only fake hacks) from unknown/untrusted sources and solely rely on their anti-virus software, which doesn't even detect cd-key stealers in most cases.
-
Just defending a bit. ;) Actually I'm not happy with the situation at all (like everyone else). I really wish BE could prevent more hacking, but due to the game engine's weaknesses combined with the massive cd-key theft BE's effectiveness is greatly limited.
-
They have been detected for longer than 2 weeks. Still, what is your point? You want to vouch for PB/VAC? ;) It's amazing that now (maybe because of BE?) people take the detection of private hacks for granted, when in fact it's just a bonus.
-
False, feel free to use DC and let me know if you are still unbanned after a day. Btw, I have to say this entire discussion about private hacks being undetected is pretty ridiculous. BE detects much more (and more frequently) than PB or VAC ever have/would (they mostly don't detect private hacks at all) and you seriously come here and complain about it? I'm sorry to say there is no 100% detection rate, but BE comes much closer to it than these other anti-cheat systems.
-
BE constantly bans private hacks for months (neither PB nor VAC does that).
-
Just have some patience, I'm sure it will be fixed soon. Again, these filters are community-made and therefore beyond my control.
-
Yes, it's totally BE's fault that a new DayZ version breaks community-made (read: not official) filters. ;) Btw, I heard that Dwarden just published an update for the scripts.txt filters on the CBL (http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/source/browse/filters). I advise all server admins to update their scripts.txt to fix the "Script Restriction #44" kicks.

VAC knows when a game's memory is read? I'm not even going to comment on that. Go look up some popular private hack forums to get your proof. They hate BE like they have never hated any anti-cheat system before because they get constantly busted every few days for months. They can't wait to finally get some relief with VAC which bans them close to never. Anyway, I guess there is no point in arguing with someone who admits that he is hacking himself. Obviously you don't have any interest in getting banned all the time, right? ;)
-
Explain? He said that BE bans pretty much all hacks (including popular private ones) quite often, which is true.
-
Thanks for posting the truth. Ironically it's mostly those from the other side (i.e. cheaters/hackers) that appreciate what BE does. There are two main reasons why BE is quite ineffective right now (yes, it is!): 1.) A multiplayer engine that allows a client to do pretty much anything (no limits). 2.) Cheaters don't care about being globally banned over and over again because they can always get new stolen cd-keys for just $2 or less. Both of these issues cannot be solved by BE, which is incredibly frustrating for me (I really would like to, but I can't). Luckily they will be tackled in the standalone, which is what I'm personally really looking forward to.
-
I'd appreciate if you could stop spreading false information.
-
Again, problems happen from time to time, BE is no exception there. This issue was unrelated to specific systems or software setups though, it was entirely random and unfortunately I couldn't reproduce it a single time.
-
That's wrong, every new version is tested before release, but sometimes there can be some unforeseen issues. Anyway, the problem should be fixed now. You can safely re-enable your anti-virus software.

Battleye update fails because of potential malware in BEClient.dll

It's a generic/heuristic detection, hence "TR/Downloader.Gen". -

Again, what programs are you running when this happens? -
kicked for battleye Game hack #3

I'm sorry for this, I will change the kick message from "BattlEye Hack #3" (not GameHack) to something else shortly. I will advise the BEC staff to lift bans related to this violation as well. Could you guys tell me what sort of programs you used when/before that happened? From what I have seen so far it seems to be related to recording tools? -

According to https://www.virustotal.com/file/903525a103c1e1bbb18f0e3687dbad0de497a7d1a74704a19d20903d6e0af904/analysis/1358307158/ the Avira AntiVir false positive should be fixed already. -
Alright battleye, what the Duck is this about ?

Please report this to Avira as a false positive and put the BEClient.dll on your exception list for the time being. -
And even if it banned the whole account (which it doesn't), the cheaters will simply use DayZ-only accounts and create new ones once banned. Anyone believing that those that want to cheat will stop because they have to pay $15 every few weeks (that's how fast VAC usually is) needs to think again. Before cd-key theft was prevalent a few months ago they didn't care about having to buy the game again either.
-
Could you describe what those problems are?
-
Thanks for posting some facts! You didn't mention BE. May I ask why? ;)
-
Wrong, if BE was used in DayZ on Steam its global bans would have the same effect as VAC bans. There won't be any cd-keys in DayZ and therefore the whole Steam account (in effect the SteamID) would be banned from BE servers as well.
-
Did I quote you? Your question is answered in my post as well: Yes, it's safe to share your BE GUID.
