    I think what it means is you will SEE how many slots it takes up before you put it into your pack. No more, place assault rifle into pack, medical supplies try to run away all over the floor because you only had 6 slots instead of 9 or something.. Diablo 2 inventory!

    I think ArmA's 'clunkiness' actually makes the game better in a lot of ways, of course it needs to be smoother looking and feeling to a certain extent, but I think it makes DayZ. What you wouldn't want is people strafe running around like some corridor shooter dodging bullets. Item spawning definitely sounds like the most interesting thing other than Zombie AI and animations Great Q&A Guys.
  5. As far as not-announcements go, this is great. You get a update knowing that the game hasn't hit a rut, you get to know that he is feeling a lot better in himself. AND He has said sorry for screwing up and making false 'promises'. People need to look at this as more of a 'Off the record' kind of deal. THIS also excites me. Same game you love, but different, in a good way.

    Got two links for you buddy, Forums and Reddit That is your FOV problem fixed. The clunkiness is just ArmA and possibly mouse smoothing, turn that shit OFF.

    I really think 3DP needs to go. I remember playing on a forced FP server and getting shot at from the forest while running to a barn, Now if I was playing on a 3DP server I could just scan the forest for this guy lean out and plug him in a heartbeat, thus making his awesome position null But I had to lean out to get him to try and fire to try and see where it was coming from, yes I died eventually, but he had outplayed me and deserved it. Why should bushes be made even more useless for Ghille guys? The argument shouldn't be about 'I could do this IRL' the fact of the matter is that 'IRL' you still have to endanger yourself. Being able to see people and wait till they make a run from their cover before you expose yourself and shoot, is Not Fair

    I just thought today about something that this game is missing. Imagine the scenario, Your buddy is being held at gunpoint and being threatened execution, in a game what would you do? Just outright shoot them dead, job done happy ending. Now imagine if that guy you shot had a spasm and unloaded into the back of your buddy's head before he dropped dead. Not such a good idea to ignore his demands now is it? This kind of feature would make stand offs alot more tense, and actually make people think before they pull the trigger, the people who want to avoid bloodshed, wouldn't feel cheated for being shot while trying to negotiate with someone, while both people are staring down the barrel of a gun. Thoughts?

    Would be the best and most annoying feature ever :rolleyes: I think that's something to do with the game being clientside for hit detection, you effectively shot each other at the same time kind of thing.

    People moaning about the tents etc needing a fix, ask yourself what is more important at a games convention? A build that has it fixed and no new features, and that you could easily play at home instead of travelling to gamescon? Or something new and interesting that will get more people interested in the MOD/Game? And this MOD is far from dead, just because it hasn't been updated in a few weeks doesn't mean alot isn't happening behind the scenes.

    Character Stuck - can't move, die or respawn

    I have exactly the same problem just now, had a zombie chasing me, then I suddenly stopped, the zombie ran right upto me, then jus wandered off as soon as it touched me. Now my character is stuck. Very strange.

    Yeah the Minigun on it looks glitched, me and my friend found a DMR, L85 Thermal/Night scope and NVG's all on one crash site. If you found a crash site many patches ago they didn't used to spawn any loot, and were kinda buggy. Edit: Only vehicle I found was weeks ago, and that was a bicycle that a guy was riding round on. Oh and a bus I saw driving along the coast.

    Haven't found any Ghillie or camo since the patch, but NVGs are definitely spawning. Try to find helicopter crash sites.
  15. I enable dayz through the ingame expansion menu. I find it much easier than having different shortcuts, but that is just preference. I only use six updater to keep the beta patch and dayz upto date, I run this shortcut through steam so i can get the overlay to talk to my friends without minimizing.
  16. My game shortcut looks like this. "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -cpucount=4 -exThreads=7 and my game path is this "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\" I can see from your shortcut that its pointing to the original exe rather than the beta patch one. Hopefully that solves your problem, as mine definitely works. Oh the end part is because I have a quad core cpu and that increases performance slightly.

    Rocket, dude! Can we have old mouse wheel menu back?

    Im pretty sure the only reason it was removed was because the game was constantly doing a check of 'Is the player wounded? if true add menu item if false goto start' kind of thing, and I guess 50 players with 3 different checks going on every second or so is going to make a hit on server and client fps/bandwidth. I personally prefer using the gear interface, it adds that sense of panic to bandaging yourself up. Imagine how you would react if you just had a zombie take a chunk out of your leg, then trying to kill it and stop yourself from bleeding out while in pain. The game can't simulate that without lengthy animations taking it out of your control. What fun would it be if zombies triggering you to lose blood, only drained 300 blood because of your leet scroll click skills.

    Wandering Zombie Groups

    I had a search for this and couldn't find anything, I'm sure a similar/simplier thing would be worked in later anyway. How about walking 'hordes /small groups' of zombies that just wonder and sort of follow each other about, either from town to town or lost in the woods. Maybe they could be drawn from hearing gunfire at a distance so they can shamble in that direction or something.

    I was thinking as this is along the lines of a MMO style game, why not have an extra character slot to play as? I know alot of people will see this as a stupid idea as its permadeath, but at the moment I find myself not playing untill my mate is on, now that we have finally linked up ingame. Remember not everyone has all day trying to find their friends to have a game with.
