[Help] Can't join any sever mutilplay DayZ and Arma 2: OA
Fern Baron replied to Peter_p's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
If you can, copy the entire error message you receive in full and post it. -
EUROPA server fills up daily. It's in your timezone and they have a teamspeak server that you could use to group up with others.

You will also need the DayZ mod files, free download, available on steam here. Hope this helps :) -
Really Want to get back into the mod
Fern Baron replied to bozo97's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Check out the vanilla server list The high pop servers from this list would be DayZ EUROPA or US434 -
CCG vanilla server recently had a pop crash, I think they lost a bunch of data or hard reset the server. Disorderly Conduct server pop is increasing, lightly modded from what I have seen (starter kit with winchester, water and antibiotics). Musty Gaming run a couple of vanilla server from the US, should be playable, but pop is low atm. Have you tried to approach the admin(s) of US 434 about your ban? Have you been banned from other servers? Could they be sharing a ban list?

What is the recommended way to run DayZ Mod?
Fern Baron replied to Robert Neville's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Be sure you're attempting to connect to servers running the same version of the dayz mod that you're using. -
If you're really content with mass farming pumpkins and flare gun fireworks I'd go for a quieter server. Musty's US1 is highly populated with PvP players. I managed to attend the BBQ and meet a few people and it was a pretty funny scene. I only showed up for the inevitable shitstorm and was in no way let down. The explosions by flare light was a awesome way to go out. The chaos upon returning to Otmel island was exactly what I expected to happen for this event on this server. Hungry bandits that caught wind of the bbq were picking off the returning friendly party goers once they killed off what security was present at the bbq. If you chose to host a similar event on the same server I'd definitely attend again, with friends, for the inevitable shitstorm :)

Too many voices at once. From what I see you're not muting any of your channels, so if you were attempting to talk to someone in game while your mates in ts are chatting away, could cause confusion. Confusion in dayz results in death. Only tends to happen if you're playing with a few people in a group or one really chatty type.
-
Nice to have it all in on one key, but I can see this causing confusion if say you're negotiating with someone you just bumped into and your buddies in ts are asking you for locale. Has this happened to you or do you have a work around it?
-
You can have a multi-button comms setup. Assign a 'toggle speaker mute' button in ts and just hit it if you need to communicate in game via direct.

*sigh* I feel your frustration. This is nothing new, but at a high due to their script subscriptions being useless.

To the two that KOS'd at NW last night.

Emu's just went down a couple of notches in my book. -
Don't devalue the long con. This would no doubt be a highly used tactic in a real life survival of the most willing to adapt situation. Take it as a lesson to lift your game.

DayZ will freeze for a few seconds every so often.

Any other games suffering from the same issue? -
Primitive equipment: possibilities and such
Fern Baron replied to Whyherro123's topic in General Discussion
You're jumping to the extreme end of the spectrum. This thread is merely suggesting features and mechanics that could be added in to support the playstyle of a wilderness survivor. I don't think I once seen anyone suggest removal of modern day items in this thread. -
Musty Gaming Standalone (Actual Private Hive) US/EU(Hardcore)/AU
Fern Baron replied to kichilron's topic in Servers
Whitelisting on the server has be postponed until 14th March. Server population has been consistently high and the script kids are on the low. To maintain the enjoyment of a highly populated server we wish to increase the whitelist numbers before activating it. If you frequent and enjoy the server, please take the time to register on our site and go through the simple process of filling out an application form for whitelisting. -
Meat. what does it say when its get cooked.
Fern Baron replied to Survivor1965's topic in New Player Discussion
Meat on open flame ie, directly on to fireplace, will always ruin meat. I think the use of cooking utensils like a frying pan are now needed. Hopefully someone can confirm. -

Hey that's pretty interesting and equally gross, would fit quite well in the game I think. -
8 hours of playing and 3 character resets later

Do you log back in to see the kill screen or a completely fresh character? -

It's not fertiliser, it's lime. Lime is used in the tanning process funnily enough called 'liming', that removes hair and fats from the hide. I'm all for a more detailed process of leather preparation like you suggest with the tanning racks and a wait time, but I'm not sure why you would add guts to it? :S You're trying to remove all of that with the lime, not add it. Maybe another step in the process like scudding; removing the fats and hair with a blade? -
2x2 slots and can be stacked.

Erm, did something change with fireplaces
Fern Baron replied to theirongiant's topic in General Discussion
Try again with at least five sticks attached to your fireplace kit. -
If it doesn't auto store to the bottom of your inventory it may be dropped to the ground. I've had many different reactions when this happens. If you're lucky, the gun will drop to your feet and you will be able to simply pick it back up. Other instances it has jumped to a close-by spawn location, so check all your typical gear spawn locations in the vicinity. And if you're unlucky, it's gone. Just be sure to give your inventory and surrounding area a good search before confirming the item disappeared.

Check your inventory and scroll to the bottom to see if your second rifle (one in hands) is there. It will sometimes be stored at the bottom but not be visible on your toon. Just move it back to your hands to reequip.
