A friend was having a similar problem. Switched his headset to an empty 3.0 and problem ceased. Hope link can help.

Sadly, GameSpy who run the master server list and manage all of the querying of the servers has shut down, it has caused hundreds of games problems and means that arma had to act quick so that it wouldn't be affected. Arma published this press release explaining the update here - http://www.bistudio.com/mailing/html/arma2-operation-arrowhead-update-1.63.html - and it explains the changes that have been made. The change has since broken DayZ Commander, there is meant to be an update coming out but we are unsure when this will be released. There is an alternative Launcher which lacks a in-game browser but will allow you to download the game files, and join arma2 with the correct dayz mods. DayZ Launcher - http://dayzlauncher.com - is still in early alpha and more features will be coming to it soon, including an out of game server browser. Totally agree :) Very challenging and aspects like stealth and survival are really starting to come together. The zombies are definitely are a right pain in the ass and getting off the coast with the basics poses a big challenge. Even after you have established yourself with a vehicle, tent and supplies, every trip from base is best well prepared and planned out.

How do you check your back? If I was bleeding from a gunshot wound to the back I think I'd know about it without having to look at it.

I hear this a lot. "On a long enough timespan everyone turns to banditry." While there may be some truth to this, I rather think it's the newcomers that have been solely attracted here by the game's popularity rather than its meaning, that are detrimental to the game. I don't think it comes down to personlization as much as it's a competition for player numbers. Maybe at the start, but when the players begun to drift towards highly customized servers, other servers felt the need to customize to compete. One tries to up the other until we end up with servers that have coastal barracks, 100+ helis and no junk loot!

No to any form of locked/safe storage. If it can be locked, there should be the means for another player to breach it. This is the challenge of dayz that I've come to love to hate and what makes mods like epoch ezmode and unchallenging. Now that would be hardcore! Death would literally end that character, including stashed gear that your new character somehow has knowledge of :huh:

The game and getting around in it at its current stage can be a little clunky at times. I find server performance to be a major factor for an enjoyable experience. Steer clear of experimental servers if you're already finding it choppy. It can have its moments of terrible desync on a subpar server having you walking on the spot for minutes and getting caught on objects.

This suggestion is in the mod thread but you mention the Mosin. Was this suggestion meant for SA? Defibrillators are in DayZ SA, but can't be used to revive another player yet. I'm sure it will be updated and have a purpose like that of OP's suggestion in the future.

Make sure you're moving the items from your vicinity (far left of inventory screen) into empty slots either in your backpack,vest or clothing (far right of inventory screen). Clothing items,vests and backpacks at the right can be opened and closed to see their contents by clicking on the +/- icon to the bottom right of their picture. You have to have an item on your person before it can be added and used from the hotbar.

Be sure that the servers you're attempting to log into are in fact Dayz, not Epoch or another mod. You can choose to display only DayZ servers in dayzcommander with the function to the left under survivor count (hide empty/full).

The threatless zombies are already in, just need a building mechanic so people can hide in bases all day.
