  1. When you call the new guy at work a bambi....
  2. There have been a few individuals wanting to ask admin questions. Hasn't seemed like admin was present. Some of us are wanting more information. The OP was way too brief. There is like NO information in the OP about the server. Where are the bases? Which ones can't you loot? How do you know which base is lootable and which base is a faction-base? Where do I report problems? Who's in charge? What are the rules? Are there really 500 vehicles and if so, where are they? How do I become a bandit? Join a faction? Those are the "nutshell" questions that have been brought up. EDIT: And there's also new heli crash sites with different types of loot evidently. Just found one outside Cherno. no info on those. Please elaborate on OP. Thanks, and take care
  3. None of the download links work. Is the map gone? DayzLand shows an error for the download link. And the alternate link says the file will take 436minutes to complete, and looks a bit shady. I'm not about to download from that site. Is it still available on DayzLand?
  4. Hello, Could you elaborate on your 'custom weapons"? Thanks and take care
  5. Hello, Could you elaborate on "Custom Weapons"? And what additions were made to Kamenka, Skulka, and Cherno? Do you have any future plans to changing towns? Thanks and take care
  6. Hello, Could I suggest including the list of changes to Chernarus in your OP? (specifically what changes/additions to Towns) Also, perhaps a random statement, but I'm interested in how some servers make changes to existing towns, or buff, or create new ones. Or changes to loot. If you have a "team" of brain-stormers, I'd love to help out for your server. See you on there! Is there any form of communication for the server? Do you have a TeamSpeak? Thanks, take care Dustin

    Children screaming for help?

Yea, I heard it for first time on namalsk. I thinks it's strange. Just some sort of ambient track.
  8. Hello, Could you elaborate on your special wrecks and care packages, in regards to what kinds of items those things spawn? Also, have you altered the list of available weaponry? Will I find an as50 tws? :) Thanks and take care
  9. Hello, Could go into further detail about your custom crash sites? Also, what types of weaponry are available? Standard dayz or are all Arma2 weapons available? Thanks, take care
  10. Hello, May I enquire about what weapons you have and do not have on the server? Have you excluded any weapons or can find all Arma2 weaponry? Have you considered adding a fire station to Zelenogorsk and/or market to Kamenka to further dilute the chance of intentionally suicide after a Kamenka spawn? Or add 1 barracks to NE airfield? Very interested! Thnx, take care
  11. Armor. Nothing fancy or intricate, just basic military helmet, armor plates or vest. This would only have a negate a percentage of bullet damage, but should still knock you down or unconscious. Perhaps they could be as rare as an AS50 or something, to ensure they are valuable and it doesn't turn into an arcade shooter. What about different clothing providing armor? If I found a leather jacket, the bites and scrapes from zombies would be negated to a certain degree. What if I found bike armor? What if certain shoes provided different benefits? Running shoes allowed faster running over boots..?
  12. Hello, May I ask how many members you have? And what's the average age? Thanks
  13. Hello, Are there opportunities for advancement? If so, how does that work? Thanks Dustin
  14. Hello, May I ask what the age range is for your active members? I am very interested. Thanks Dustin
  15. We all spawn on the coast somewhere, but how many of you actually bother swimming over to one of the islands? I ask because I'm considering how reliable it would be to place a tent on one of those small islands right off the beach. Specifically, the small island behind the light house island between Elektro and cherno....and also what about the couple islands off of Kamyshovo? I mean it's close to traffic, but do you actually ever bother going over to one of these islands? I'm wondering if the best tent hiding spot is actually right in front of people, in a place that no one ACTUALLY bothers to go to. Thoughts? Thanks
  16. I'll have to restrain myself while I write this post. my heart is pumping like hell out of my chest. So I been playing for like 5 hours straight. Got a nice M14A, tons of essentials, ammo, etc. I've been by myself on this server for like 2 hours now. Just me, one player. I go from Cherno, over to Balota airstrip, then NorthEast to Bor, North East some more to Zelenogorsk, head straight north to Pustoshka, up to Vybor, loot the town, then up to the NorthWest Airfield. I'm walking up to the barracks, check the server list, I'm alone! I see an M204 with like 300 rounds of ammo lying next to it. Awesome shit. But I have to get rid of some raw meat to make room, so I start to go outside and start a fire. All of sudden, zombies come aggro'in out of the woods and into the barracks behind me. I hear gunshots, from two different weapons. In like 30 seconds time, these fucks spawn in right at the airstrip, steal the loot I came across, and kill me. How is that possible? Did they disconnect right next to the airfield? How can they get there so quickly? Is that a strategy to disconnect next to the airstrip? Their 30 second parade ruined my 5 hours work. Fuck me. I have never been so irate at a game's existence and so in love with it at the same time. Their names were Ivan and Nicolai

How exactly is this game fun?

On my 4th day, I have realized why so many people enjoy the game. I would say it requires a person to REALLY put themselves in the characters shoes to create this dynamic. Food, supplies, essentials...they're all scarce. Avoiding zombies while trying to find items can be hectic and tense. I spend hours finding items to survive. Its the moment when you see someone else, several yards away, that your heart starts pumping, and adrenaline starts rushing. It's not a game. It's me dude. I'm trying to survive, and if I die its all over. Everything I did is over. That's about as close to real death as you can simulate in a video game. Permadeath man. So why do I enjoy this game? Because I'm ACTUALLY terrified. My heart rate skyrockets when I'm stalking someone, or run into someone. its because there's no Save button. There is no respawn at last location. its over If I'm killed. I'm scared, incredibly tense, and I love every minute of it. Its the most frustrating and emotionally draining game I've ever played, for real. because I try to put myself in the shoes of the character as I try to survive. As i write this, I'm still coming down from an incident ten minutes ago. I mean I'm literally trembling with anger. It's not a "pick up controller, press start, start shooting" type of game. And if walking and looting isn't your thing....head to Cherno or Elektro on a server with 20 or more people. You'll see the value when you come face to face with someone. I assure you. I've been playing PC Games since Doom was out on shareware. I'm 25, and I've played all the big blockbuster games and the lesser known ones as well. This mod for Arma is literally the first game I've ever played that makes my heart pound. If you treat it like its you, and not a game, then you might see the greatness of the mod. its easy to miss because there's SO MUCH empty space out there on the map. The mod seems boring. Repetitious. Just learn where to go for loot, and you'll run into others. After you've spent a couple hours finding some awesome stuff, come back and tell us how it feels to get it all ripped away from you. Is there any other game that manipulates your emotions as much as DayZ?
  18. I cannot believe the emotional rollercoaster ride that DayZ facilitates. Most types of encounters are intended, some unforseen, and a small percentage were unfair. Here's my short list of my encounters so far after only 2 days of playing. I've been killed by: -zombies, too many times! -trying to run through a rock...??? -falling off a building -starvation/bleeding -lied to, stabbed in the back from people that I tried to help -invisible hackers My most memorable moment: I had just spawned in, determined to bounce back after a string of unfortunate deaths. I had formed a new gameplan, and developed a better understanding of how to avoid zombies. I crept in to Balota from the coast, and made my way over to the medical tents. I had made it to the guard tower and climbed up to find an AK47. From my periph, I noticed a jeep with its headlights on (it was at night) pull up to the far end of the medical tents. 3 masked bandits jump out, and yell out to me "hey, we see you! Put your gun down!" I had no chance in hell of out running these guys, so I dropped my weapon, climbed down, and followed them to their jeep. This was the first time I've ever been held up at gunpoint. They told me I'd be okay if I did what they said. They forced me into their jeep, and drove over to the airstrip across the road. Another survivor was attempting to loot the hangar but these guys saw him running. They put their headlights on him, pulled up to the hangar, and all 3 of them got out. One of them told me to stay in the Jeep, and another told the survivor to stand still and drop his weapon. This is where I should have made a move.... All of sudden, from across the airstrip, muzzle flashes light up the treeline. Some unknown soldier started firing rounds at the bandits with what sounded like an AS50, maybe not. Mayhem broke out, the bandits and the unknown soldier exchanged gunfire for a few moments. The lone survivor was unfortunately killed, 2 of the bandits were killed. The last bandit managed to kill the unknown soldier across the airstrip. I, like a scared little bitch, stayed frozen in the Jeep. I SHOULD have made a run for it. I SHOULD have taken a weapon from the dead bandit and killed the last bandit. But I stayed in the Jeep. Like a bitch. I thought I had done what they wanted, I thought I had earned their trust and my freedom. I was wrong. Another bandit, or the same bandit after spawning, miraculously teleported next to the Jeep. After a moment, they decided I had outlasted my worth. I sat in the back of the Jeep, helpless. They had to get rid of loose ends. The shot me in the head. ------------------------------------------------------- Exhilirating, infuriating, frustrating, and exciting. I love this freakin' game already. Those bandits kidnapped me, killed me, and I loved every minute of it. I wish you could have seen the firefight at the airstrip. It was downright epic mayhem. Dustin
