  1. I miss the zombies too. I joined right after the "too many zombies" update. I got used to it as a noob, so it was normal for me and no big deal. If anything, I think the zombie count needs to be upped back into the thousands, and even more than last time. I have zero fear of zeds today. I'm more concerned with finding water, wood and matches, but even those don't really concern me. Now I just watch out for other people. Then I shoot them if I get the chance, because I've learned the hard way too many times that hesitation = death. From my perspective, the theme of DayZ today isn't survival nor heroism, but cowardice.

The report is completely true and not embellished in any way. When you have a close encounter, you will know. The truth is out there.
  3. The advantage as I understand it, is you can use the beta client to use your microphone for direct communication with others nearby. So if you see someone, you can say hi without opening a chat window and typing.

    UFO's

Last night I was sneaking along in the darkness north of electro and I saw this blue and white light circling in the sky. Then suddenly, it came straight for me and bathed me in a brilliant yellowish light at only 50m away. After a moment, it zipped off to the south at a high rate of speed at only treetop level. Shortly thereafter, a similar incident occurred where I saw what resembled a flying tank come down hard and fast on my position, then landed. For a moment, I thought it might run me over. Then this brilliant white being climbed out, but I couldn't see his face. Fearing an abduction, I swung my revolver up, lined up a shot and put 3 center of mass just to be sure. He may have come in peace to save me from this hellish existence among the undead. I'll never know, because I high-tailed it out of there into the forest night. Sadly, I'm afraid I may have just started an intergalactic war from a small field in Chernarus.
  5. Download the beta, run it, then launch via the beta shortcut in your OA folder. Cake.
