I think I have an great idea that no one has suggested so far. I just finished watching the latest update on youtube by dean hall, and he mentioned at the end that different clothing will have more or less item slots. For example, a pair of jean could have maybe 6 SMALL item slots. Now, how about if some of this small items that you could have in your pockets would be: A pen & a piece of paper. WHAT IF, I, as a lonely survivor I would spawn along the coast of Chernarus, find the nearest town, loot for a while and then find a letter on the middle of the road from another survivor who wrote in the letter a warning of nearby bandits. Maybe he is warning for gunshots he heard nearby or maybe he left a note telling other survivors where he is heading in hope to find a cure for the virus he caught and is now hoping of teaming up with good hearted survivors. Maybe it is a group of good hearted survivors who are willing to help new spawned survivors. Maybe a selfish bandit is using it as bait to attract survivors in hope to find warmer clothing, better gear. It could basically be used for anything. For good and bad. I mean just from this point that someone has left a letter telling where he/she is heading, the excitement of playing and maybe going for a specific mission will be more fun. ANYTHING could happen. And the meaning of this is to widen the options of your choices and adventures along your game play. NOW. A lot of you are probably thinking "just use the side channel to communicate", and yes that is basically how people communicate in dayz when they need blood, want to send a warning to other players. But doesn't that take the fun away from dayz and the way you play as a zombie apocalypse simulation? A simulation is to be as real as possible and in real life we would not use a "side channel" we would probably, like we see in a lot of zombie games, movies and series, write on the walls, maybe put up signs and so on. Now that would be maybe a little more complicated and destructive to the in-game environment if everyone would write all over the walls xD. But communicating through letters would be a really cool idea, imo. My idea so far is to remove all messages written by players that are offline. All letters will be signed automatically by player name when finished writing. The time of the letter written would help to know how fresh the message is. How about adding this cool feature to the game. What do you think?
