  3. Hey, Just looking for someone who wants to play with me on the regular DayZ servers. Requirements: - You have to be at least semi active, i might not be on everyday but i need someone who plays when we are both online. - I'm not interested in any of the DayZ Epoch servers etc, i want to play on the standard servers as that's what i prefer. - As mentioned in the title i want to lead the bandit life style on DayZ, that doesn't mean shoot on site but not going over to people offering help unless we get something out of it. - As these are the public servers and im already slightly geared up, you need to be in the same position as me. I have pretty much all the tool belt items, a gun, pistol and a decent bag. I won't be offering any of my items unless it's food etc. - I only take the game 100% seriously when we are doing something productive or in a fire fight etc. When we are walking around from place to place it's not going to be that serious. - The last and MOST IMPORTANT is you HAVE to be at least age 16 and over, the last two people i grouped with have been around 10 years old despite telling me they were 17 :D. I don't mind where your from as long as we can communicate in English. If you want to know about me, im 16 and have a pretty good understanding of the game as iv been playing since the mod came out. I live in England and that's the only language i can speak fluently. I don't mean to come across so strongly but like i said before the last two guys who grouped with me could hardly figure out where we were on the map. If your interested, post below why you want to join me with your skype name and i guarantee that we will be pretty rich bandits.
  4. Every time i go on either the DayZ forums or DayZ itself i always see the same thing. Hero's whining about bandits killing them and saying that the community has turned to crap. To all the hero's out there, stop crying. I'm not a bandit myself nor a hero but this isn't a real life simulator, it's a game. People are going to kill each other because it's a fun way to play the game and a quicker way to gear up, which is want most people want. Bandits killing people on site has become a normal part of the game, and so when you connect to a server that's what you should be expecting. If you really want someone to play with make a thread about it, there are plenty of people in the same situation as you. My theory behind it is that zombies don't pose too great a threat, if they did i guarantee that more people would help each other out, but that's just my thoughts. If you really want to be a hero then go to the coast and help fresh spawns, don't creep around the north asking people if they need help because i bet you they don't. And one final thing. If you call yourself a hero then kill someone because you want their M4 or type friendly on direct chat then shoot the guy in the back of the head, YOU ARE NOW A BANDIT. You can't wake up the next day and decide you want to be a hero, get killed then come on the forums and whine about the community. It doesn't work like that. I'm not against bandits or hero's, but don't come on here and make threads about how poor the community is. If you are hell bent on being a hero then take the risk of bandits killing you to satisfy your DayZ heart. Bandits make it harder to be a hero, you can't live back in the day where people helped each other out more often. The game is changing as should you.
  5. Hello, Iv been playing DayZ on and off since the mod came out sometimes for hours a day and other times only one hour. I would like to start posting random things like this on the forum for fun and hopefully to get some decent information out. Anyway here are 5 tips i thought of last night that might help you play, understand and enjoy the game more. 1. If you want to kill players on site, go for it. If you want to help people and work together, go for it. There is no correct way to play DayZ. People enjoy helping others and perhaps making their DayZ experience better where as others prefer killing people on site for the pure thrill and excitement it brings. Although people say the act of banditry is a poor way to play the game there are still no rules to say you can't do it. Play the game the way you like it. That's what games are for right? 2. Don't get too attached to your gear. The more you get attached to that lovely DMR you just picked up the angrier and sadder you are going to be when you lose it. Trust me picking up a DMR and scouting everywhere you go to spot other survivors who's only goal in your eyes is to steal your precious makes the game slow and boring. You never want to go to big cities in case of death, and somehow even the fresh spawn with nothing still posses a threat to keeping your DMR. So trust me play the game you normally do, just look at that DMR as something to use and enjoy while you play rather than change your play style to protecting your bullet firing baby. 3. Everyone dies, so get used to it. No matter how hard you try to stay alive everyone dies eventually. Weather it be a group of bandits or a poor fresh spawn with a hatchet, wedging it into the back of your poor skull, you are going to die at some point. Rather than blurt verbal abuse into global chat, take from it what you can and enjoy starting this amazing game again. 4. The game can be played many ways, so explore. I prefer the lone wolf play type personally but i have played with one other person up to 4 other other people. Each way has it's advantages and disadvantages. If you have nobody to play with there is nothing stopping you making an account on the forum and starting a simple thread titled "looking for a buddy to play DayZ with". See how you like each way of playing the game then decide what's best for you. If you don't explore each aspect then your never going to get the full DayZ experience. 5. Finally, remember it's a unique game. My ideal way of playing DayZ is to go as many days as possible without dying. Scouting out areas for other survivors, gearing myself up the best i can and enjoying what i have for however long i have it is what makes me happy to play the game. I don't kill unless i need to but i don't share what i gain, even if i can't take it all with me. This last tip is enjoy playing the game for what you want it to be about. The game really has no rules. One person might like playing one way where as others another way. The game is versatile and has many different play styles to go with it. People can role-play with the game if they want to, turning it into a kind of walking dead scenario. Others might want to play the role of a medic, making it his or her duty to carry medical supplies and help anyone he or she meets. You can stretch the game anyway you want to. Play it as you wish and disconnect knowing that no matter what happened you had fun :) Thanks
  6. So my squad has stopped playing and im looking for someone who will be playing not necessarily a lot but is always active. Rather than just make it a one off thing for a night im looking for someone to stick with through good times and bad times what ever happens :) For any of you potential team mates who watch FrankieOnPCin1080p, the idea is we play like him and Jack Frags :). You either know what I mean or don't XD You need to be aged 15 or above, I really want someone who is not going to mess around, as in my opinion the game is most fun when your are out there getting things done :) Post below your Skype name if you feel your are eligible to play along side me and we can get talking :)
  7. Thanks for all posts guys :) Am open to new people as my last guy has made other friends and sorry if i didn't get back to you
  8. So this is a really simple question. Basically, after having DayZ for 3 weeks I have managed, through luck and a slight bit of skill, to become potentially one of the most geared players in my server. My gear, although it's not too important is Primary: AS50 Secondary: M9SD Backpack; Coyote Backpack Secondary Primary: L85 AWS Skin: Ghillie Suit Then my backpack and inventory are filled with food, drink, blood and other medical supply's and some grenades. I even drink Mountain Dew for my drink! This is only really to show you that I am at the top end of the game. What I really feel is that the game has become a bit boring. I have geared up to the max, near enough and the only thing that I find fun anymore is killing bandits. The only problem with this is that I never seem to find any players. If I don't get enough action in Cherno then I trudge all the way to Elektro. Still no luck? Trek up to Stary in another attempt to grab a few bandits. NONE!. So my question to you is, where should i be basing myself in order to get the most gun fights and PvP. I also know that i have not mentioned the NW airfield, this is due to a more intense and serious environment where you get abuse for killing players and is not the kind of place i would like to be. So I leave it down to you :) Post here what you think =) Thanks :)

    More in game action...

Some refreshing comments guys, i appreciate it :) I don't think i have the will power to give my gear away but im going to try the hatchet idea =)
  10. Just a short post. When I am in 3rd person with my sniper and 1st person for a matter of fact, I can't zoom out with my sniper and have it stay there? with my side arm and other AR's its fine just as soon as I get my sniper out it wont stay toggled out? I would also like to say that I have tried using - on my key pad and + on the key pad and it has not worked. I need help as its starting to annoy me Thanks :)
  11. So I hear people in my server talking about turning up their gamma and HDR quality so that they can use their AS50's during night. At first I began to think that changing these settings to enhance the night brightness scale in order too see without NVG's was cheating. However once snipers are thrown into it the story changes. They want to make DayZ realistic right? then why can't someone use the sniper of their choice whenever? The theory through my eyes is, if you have these NVG's on your head then why would your choice of sniper impair your sight through it, I mean the goggles are on your head so what stops you from looking through an AS50 or an SVD? Although I am never going to do this the point still stands, the type of sniper should not matter, the AS50 is a rare gun and although it is a very powerful and deadly weapon in reality the NVG's would not only be usable in a DMR and if they want the game realistic then why not change? But I am going off track now. I hope you see my point, the reality is the AS50 and other snipers can be used with NVG's, but not on this game. I can understand why people are going to play around with settings to be able to use their favorite sniper even though it does eliminate the chase for NVG's. the AS50 is my constant example due to it's popularity among the DayZ snipers I encourage you to post your opinion as well =)

    DMR or AS50?

So after picking up my first AS50 in an ATV I was pretty happy with the gun. It killed all the bandits I shot in one hit and although the ammo is kinda hard to find, I never seem to run out as you don't need a lot of ammo. I find the ammo, despite its rarity, before I run out which is handy. However after watching countless hours of FrankieonPCin1080p (his videos are VERY entertaining and helpful, I advise you watch them) iv noticed that he drops AS50's for DMR's which made we wonder, is the 2 hit kill with the DMR and its ability to use it in combination with night vision goggles and its more common ammo worth it instead of my AS50? I do understand that the AS50 is a rare gun but the DMR seems worth it to me as I do snipe at night and also carry an L85 AWS. Iv only recently started to snipe around Cherno and Elektro to try and help the bambis by killing the snipers. Should I run the AS50 L85 setup or DMR L85? Post your thoughts here, thanks! =)
  13. So after having DayZ for a while, still being relatively new to the game I decided that it might be about time to make a base. I was lucky enough to find an ATV although it was in pretty rough condition it still worked. The ATV had a decent amount of gear on it and this is were my problem elevates. I don't have enough room to carry all these goodies but don't want to leave anything as these items are very useful. The items on the ATV include an AS50 and a silenced gun (I forgot the name) I'm already carrying a DMR which I need for night time but don't have a big enough backpack to take it all! So I'm asking you guys, should I make this base with a few camping tents I found to keep all these goodies safe? Or should I drop some of these things and carry on my adventure? Thanks

Should i make a base, or not?

Thanks for all the support :)

I can never find a sniper rifle!

    1. It's all luck, my advise would be to check heli crash sites and NW airfield as you are doing already. This might not be the only places snipers spawn but they are the most common. It's just going to take time, be patient :) 2. I was lucky enough to find an AS50 in an ATV i found but that's not useful to you. My friends have found multiple ones at crash sites and NW airfield so stick to what you are doing already :) 3. Remember Frankie and his amazing DayZ videos are recorded over hours, even days of gameplay.
