  1. Skyhawk is right on the money. Introduce anonymity, and anyone with self esteem issues becomes instant asshole. Unfortunately, that causes the nice people to become more wary of others, and after getting killed a few dozen times over nothing, they decide "If you can't beat them, join them", and also become murderous sociopaths. And that's where Day Z is today.

  2. I just start at Panthera, so I've no idea where I am. After about an hour, I end up with a can of beans, a crossbow, and half a dozen bolts. I wander around the coastline for what seems like an eternity when I stumble across an airstrip, with two people building fortifications around a helicopter that seemed to be fully repaired. Against my better instincts, I ask if the two people at the chopper are friendly, and they start looking around, not being able to see me, and then say yes.

After asking them not to blow my face off, I make my way over to them and they ask if I speak German. Unfortunately, I don't, but one spoke enough english to help me get by. They asked if I had gas or food, and I told them no gas, but I had a can of food, but I'd help them find gas for the chopper. "Ok we go" was their reply, and they led me to a small boat. Trusting them more than I should, I follow them onto the boat, and we are off.

After ten minutes of nothing but mountains passing by, we arrived at an airfield. I got off the boat, and figured my new German buddies and I were going to look for another chopper or gas, or something of the sort. I walk about ten feet away from the boat and turn around to watch them sailing back off into the distance. Last thing they said to me? "Byebye"

So, that's where I'm left. A random airfield I don't know, but at least it's better than being shot, right?

  3. Lucky you, frost. I was watching and stalking some guy in Elektro, I believe. I probably followed him for about ten minutes without him knowing I was there. I finally made up my mind to see if we could group up. I had the drop on him, as he was looting in a firehouse with his back to me. I aimed at him and asked "Friendly?" He turned around and said "Oh shit, yeah, I'm friendly." I lowered my gun and was about to ask if he wanted to head north, but the next thing I knew I was lying on the ground with a fresh bullet wound in my brain. Douche...

  4. That sounds freaking fantastic. Count me in!

Oh, and my background? I heard about Dayz...got it.

Seriously, though, I've been playing for a little over two months, methinks. I've been around long enough to be more than just a little careful around other survivors. I haven't played all the maps, just Chenarus, Lingor, and Fallujha, but I have them all downloaded.

    And uh...yeah. That's about it.

  5. You've always got to be extremely cautious when finding others, especially if you're alone. I cant count the times I've been told someone was friendly just to be shot in the back the first chance they got. I usually try to avoid other players, but with the amount of wanna be bandits out there, I've unfortunately come to the conclusion that it's probably going to end up with one of us dead, so it might as well be him instead of me. I hate to do it, but with a month old survivor, I don't want to take too many risks!
