In a squad fight, when the squad comes under fire and one player pinpoints the location of the shots, using compass directions is the easiest, quickest and most accurate way to communicate that information.

No need to shoot on sight unless you stumble across a guy with a gun who is looking straight at you. If you want to make friends, approach carefully and make sure you always have the advantage of surprise and positioning.
