    Controversial Topic: BANDITRY IS DEAD.

:o Well, being a bandit is a subjective topic. Some say "Hey, I'm a bandit because I'm a mass murderer and grief people!". Some say "Hey I'm a bandit because I rob people!". Either way you slice it, they're all bandits. The difference is, those who are robbing are RISKING their lives and putting themselves in danger. Any Bandit with the interest of obtaining someone's loot will tell you, "It's easier to shoot them and take the loot, than it is to attempt to rob them vocally." That's entirely true! But there's hundreds of players killing other players randomly without context or reason. I TRY to kill for a reason, but sometimes if a player looks at you with his gun pointed, you have no choice. Now, some would argue that I'm NOT an efficient bandit because me communicating vocally gives my prey a chance to become alarmed and try to engage me. I can't really refute that because, it's true - I'm in danger when I tell them I'm there and I want their gear. But, I consider it an added challenge to being a bandit. After awhile, shooting everyone you see instantly becomes too easy so instead I challenge myself with the task of robbing people. I guess what I'm trying to say is, banditry is what players make it. Whether it's for beans, for their loot or just for lawls - it makes no difference. It's a matter of survival, so let's all see how we can survive. PS. Ty OP for using my video as a reference to this controversial topic. It may open the eyes of some newer bandits who don't know their options when approaching players.

Day Z [GUIDE] - Assault Rifles: Part 1

Sure, it seems a lot of people want my personal opinion of the gun included too. I'll make sure to do it in the next video.
  4. Hello Day Z Community, My name is S6! Acebane and I make a variety of Day Z youtube videos. You can check out my , , and several other videos for Day Z that you can check out on my Channel. But I'm now making a new "Mini Series" known as Weapon Guides. I'll be covering Secondary Weapons, Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, and Machineguns. Hopefully you find this helpful. I must inform you that this is based off my personal experience with the guns and the gun scores rely heavily on my opinion of it. I explain in decent detail as to why I gave it the score I did. You're entitled to disagree but for newer players, this will be a good "Mini Series" to keep your eye on. Click Here to subscribe to my channel! Sniper Rifles Guide is out! Assault Rifles Guide coming soon!

US195 - Super Six Gaming Server

I can confirm that the server was auto-updated without our knowledge to the newest beta patch. That's what was holding us back from connecting. Upon updating to the new beta patch, we can now connect to the server without problem. So update to the 95054 beta patch and come play. To those who did kill us, our deaths are confirmed and we're on the coast right now. If you want, I could upload the footage I just took of it if you want more proof.

US195 - Super Six Gaming Server

It MAY be this: " DayZ 1.7.2.3 & Arma2OA 95054 This will install v1.7.2.3 & Arma2OA 95054 on your server. Please refer to the DayZ changelog for more information. Installed" we DID not update to this manually. We were playing when this apparently self-updated it's self? Vilayer does auto updates on it's own. Will try to update to beta and see if can connect to server.

US195 - Super Six Gaming Server

I can ASSURE you that us dying had NOTHING to do with it. We're honorable players, we do not dupe/exploit/cheat by any means and we're honest admins. You can ask several other players on the server, we die all the time and never restart the server. Server restarts are announced every morning around 12 PMish and that's only to change it to day. We're currently getting kicked for Battle Eye client not responding, etc and getting connection failed. Trust me, there was no funny business. The second it went down, I was even frapsing and I said outloud: "Oh god, that looks really bad.. really bad". S6 has always been credible players and we never do any exploiting and/or misusing admin powers. The current status of the server is unplayable as non of us can connect. We can't "fake" this error with our server atm. It's a legit server crash. If it comes back up tonight, we'll gladly log on while you guys are on and let you rekill us, assuming we're alive.

Thanks! You sir have a good name :). @Dr. Toros, maybe you're right. Maybe not. Time will tell. @Aoshi1992, I completely agree that some situations, you CAN'T take the risk of robbing them. If you're not behind hard cover and they look at you? Go full lethal on their arse. No time to see if they'll comply to robbery demands. That, or take a chance and regret it. I prefer to live than die to someone.
  14. Well, isn't this a shit storm. Point is, exploiters/dupers/"hackers" (they don't deserve the title but eh) are ruining gameplay for Day Z. Now you may say, "you admins not following da rules be ruining diz community moar". Well to you I say, I'd prefer to play alongside an asshole admin who abuses his privileges and in which case I can appeal the ban/report him to Day Z staff. Opposed to the hacker who has unlimited ammo, cannot be killed and teleports behind everyone and kills them just for the lols with his AS50(This just happened recently on the server I host). Public relations and community member banning/unbanning can all be dealt with logically and in a fixed location (forums). Where as cheaters who play the game CANNOT be reasoned with at all because they love to see the world burn and can easily conceal their identities by changing profile names. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to throw my hands up in the air and say, "I hope Battle Eye gets them next time". Now you may argue that, "hey mr. acebane, u r a fat noob n u obviously don't know how to check ur 1 GB + script log file." Well you're kind of right, considering this is my first time owning a server, I pretty much lack the know how of how to deal with hackers aside from BANNING THEM. Problem is with that, I can't ban anyone neither because it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to get 100% legit proof of someone doing it. I can make judgement calls based on instinct, but we all know that sometimes our instincts are wrong. So we're at a stand still - can't ban people (1. because IDK who it was and 2. it's against Day Z's rules apparently), can't stop cheaters. What do us server hosts who spend 40-100 bucks a month on a server do? Throw your hands up and pray they move to another server by the end of the night. What's the possible solution? Hell, if I know. All I can think of is a better cheat detection, a cheater detective that goes and checks server logs for known cheating scripts, or admins just start banning anyone they believe is involved in suspicious activity. All of which are rather half-arsed solutions. So just band together as a community, play Day Z, enjoy your time while there are no hackers/exploiters present and log off at the end of the night. PS. It would be amazing for Day Z staff to somehow stop duping/death dodging/ghosting. Let's hope they can do it!

Yeah, most bandits/players will just continue to shoot on sight and that can't be helped unless as a community we "evolve". It's not an easy task, hell it may even be impossible but a little bit of hope and effort can go a long way. Let's just see what happens with our attempts to change.

@Carl, lol the 30 seconds to bind a key is so much trouble. Let's just spend another 25 minutes running back to your body instead. @Allot :). @JasonX, any time! @Serpent10i, awesome little tid bit! I didn't know that myself (despite accidentally doing it before).

Haha, awesome Brew78! Glad this offered a solution to your suggestion. @SnR any kind of punishment may detract from the bandit experience. There's "no honor among thieves" so, if there are some "honorable" bandits that spare their victims, that's cool but there's no rule in place to stop them from being mass murderers. The freedom to play the game you want to play is VERY appealing to all players who play this. Some ruin your experience sometimes, but hey - not much you can do about it lol. Look @ hackers who just go around shooting people for no reason at all other then to grief.

Ay mami, gracias ;). I want some frijitos for sure! My hat is off to you for spreading the word. The power of knowledge is up to us to share with the mass public so we can advance as a community. Good call.
  19. Totes counts. Thanks dude! I'm glad you and your group are like minded individual when it comes to banditry :). The communication and human interaction when robbing someone is exciting and brings back the heart racing feeling that I've lost so long ago after many kills/deaths. I love the AKM as a robbing weapon. It's cheap, not THAT good that you'll feel bad losing/trading it but it has zeroing so you can practically snipe with it if you range it right. Recoil is high and sights do suck sometimes, but other then that, greatest stick up weapon :D.

r u trolling me? :( lol. lol@Yahhzoo, Idk what you're talking about
  21. I know it's an added risk on your part as bandits to "give survivors" a chance but as you successfully shoot everyone you see on sight for awhile, it starts getting boring. So I encourage you bandits to challenge yourself with robbing them and letting them live. I just made a new video/thread in regards to the Surrender key to increase awareness of it - that way us Bandits can maybe have more success in robbing people. Keep in mind, any animation whether it be salute/sit down/surrender can all be used as a "surrender" key.

US195 - Super Six Gaming Server

How's the server treating those who have played there?
  24. Well I can play in 1st person too, it's just a matter of appealing to a wider player base because I know A LOT of players don't mind or even like 3rd person view. Hardcore servers are rare when in comparison with the amount of 3rd person view servers. Thanks for the thumbs up :).
