Looking for people to play with

trolls.. He obviously wants to play hopscotch on the moon with Daisy Duke. Might want to look for a clan if you are serious about playing in a group.

    Funny Bandit Trap Fail

pretty sure even just 1 is more than enough to kill you, must have been a hacker. Oh well I guess that's the karma part, don't set traps for people in side chat :P

I hope they add this to DayZ SA

if you can turn it off it would be fine because no not everyone wants to yell all the time. The last thing I need is the neighbors calling the police at 3 in the morning because they heard me yelling death threats at people.
  5. You are meant to be able to play as you like, freely doing as you choose. By adding consequences to one of the three basic playstyles (hero, survivor and bandit) you are NOT giving players the freedom to play as they like, but you are cornering them to choose between being neutral and being good. It is realistic that it is easier to be a bandit; how many starving, thirsty, desperate, afriad people do you think would be friendly to strangers in this situation? If you want to walk up to someone and be friendly you are putting your life in the hands of a complete stranger, who would have a lot to gain by just shooting you and taking what you have. With banditry, your life is in your hands, it is much, much safer. It is a much smarter way to play if you want to make sure you remain safe. It's human nature to be paranoid and survive no matter what. Put those two together combined with desperation and you have a pretty clear cut outcome; people will kill each other out of paranoia and survival instinct. If you want to play as a hero you are taking the hard path. It's like choosing easy, normal or hard in a game. Do you complain that hard is unfair compared to easy/normal? Of course it is unfair, because you chose the hardest difficulty. With DayZ, everyone is choosing a different difficulty. Those who play as bandits will have the edge on you because it is easy to just lie and shoot you. It is not alright to make everyone choose the friendly path (via punishing bandits) to make your more difficult path any easier. If you don't want everyone out to get you and don't want to get killed as much, play as a survivor and avoid bandits (or kill them if they attack of course) like everyone else. So basically heroes have it rough because they are trying to give an angry bear a hug. You can either join the bears (or the survivors, I guess they are rabbits? IDK just a metaphor) or just come to terms that there are a shitload of angry bears out there and they will get you if you let them. No need to punish the bandits because you are punishing yourself by choosing the hardest way to play the game. Also just forgot to mention, there is a big consequence for being a bandit; If you kill just about everyone you meet then you are also killing possible allies who would make life easier. You also have the skin which I don't like but for now it's an instant KOS red flag for all survivors and heroes.
  6. 1. Zombies are a twitchy, spastic mess that can go from standing to sprinting in the blink of an eye. If they would stop doing that stuff, that would be great. 2. very clunky and awkward when moving around in buildings, sometimes if you even turn the wrong way you are forced through a railing and are killed. 3. If this is still happening then choppers leaking fuel because some glass is cracked should be fixed. If it has already been fixed then I guess cars should be made a bit sturdier, you know so they don't explode if you nudge a few things too many times. Please don't write this again or many people will have broken noses from facepalming too hard. -Sincerely, the rest of the internet.

    Blood on Your hands

you can be as dirty as you like as long as you have antibiotics :)

    Blood on Your hands

I would think not washing your hands after feeling up a corpse would make you sick, that would probably make more sense rather than making you easier to spot. Keep clean or get sick.

    Mental System [SA]

The only way I could agree with killing people affecting sanity would be the first couple of kills. Maybe at first you would think "shit I just killed a person" but then you would get used to it, especially if you are okay with killing infected (I mean what's the difference both are human beings). You know what you call someone in this scenario who can't bring themselves to kill another person? DEAD. You can put your morals behind you, suck it up and survive or dig yourself a grave. You shouldn't be forced by game mechanics to make nice with people because if you don't you will get a disadvantage, that's just bullcrap. There are already pros/cons for either trusting people and being friendly and being distrustful and just shooting whoever you come across. If you trust people you could either be murdered or you could join a group and be very proficient in surviving. On the other hand if you shoot people who come up to you, they won't have the chance to kill you but you also just killed some potential allies. IMO no need to bring silly mind games into DayZ to reduce the amount of people who choose to kill. They only do it because nobody likes to put their lives into a stranger's hands; you can change the game but you can't change the players.

How not to take off in a helicopter

This happened to me with a huey that was stuck between two trees. Rotor grabbed the trees and I ended up flipping sideways into the air and exploding haha

    Machete VS Snipers FAIL

haha I thought you would have killed them for sure, oh well got one of them. It took them way too long to kill you though, I guess sitting on a hill sniping all day isn't good when a crazed machete man attacks.

    Night creature

packs of hungry wolves in forests at night sounds like a good idea, you can either risk people and zombies in the towns or aggressive animals in the forest.

    DayZ's Counterintuitivity

I had a look at it, I guess if I get bored again I'll play that. LAST time I was bored I ended up on omegle for 13 hours :|

    DayZ's Counterintuitivity

true, this is why other games usually don't get people excited the same way DayZ can. Games like Minecraft where it is different every time are usually very successful.

    DayZ's Counterintuitivity

white house mission, professional, the assassin did kill me in what I assume was one shot. I walked out onto the scaffolding above him hoping to toss a mine down or something. As soon as the animation to step onto the platform ended the guy snaps up and shoots me and I die with a lot of health and armor. 1b or not I would die from bullshit hits from that last guy, i finished the game but it will remain in shit games just for how many times I have lost my shit over it and uninstalled it.

    DayZ's Counterintuitivity

I guess it's because it's fun to get that stuff back and recover, but in the other games you start with that stuff. If you respawned in DayZ with full gear it would be the same as dying in any other FPS. It sucks to die and lose it but it is evened out because of how fun it was to get it in the first place. Playing CoD though you get the frustration of losing something without the good feeling of gaining something. Sometimes I'll rage uninstall games and move them into a special 'SHIT GAMES' category in my steam library e.g. hitman blood money stuck on last mission the guy would get bullshit 1b kill on me somehow every fking time and I just lose my shit. Most I've raged on DayZ is I just yell 'fuck this shit! this game is piece of crap why do I fucking bother!' and quit it for a week. I did that once from dying on the shipwreck with some of the best gear I had ever owned, with a hundred day old character. Another time was the game magically making me run and dive off a dock crane when I tried to prone. Despite all that I too come back pretty quickly. I don't think it's because DayZ is 'just that good' I mean look at it for what it is, buggy zombie mod for a dated game (at times) crawling with skiddies. It's gotta be those feelings of accomplishment that we don't get from generic FPS games these days. Dat adrenaline rush too, can't get that from many other games. "Life is a journey, not a destination." Same thing applies here really, FPS games all you get is a destination lest the leveling up but that isn't much. DayZ until you have an as50 collection, helicopters, cars, trucks, boats and tents full of loot you aren't finished and the whole experience is a journey. So it doesn't matter that you died since you will embark on another fun journey, who knows how far you will get this time.
  17. you can play how you like, better than the polar opposite which is running around the coast to kill as many people as possible. I also try to avoid people but I still go to 'popular' places to find good stuff. Mostly Stary, NWAF, NEAF or Balota.

    AS50 or M107?

yeah Halo: Combat Evolved. I have so many old memories of that game, this thread made me remember one of the coolest guns in one of the best games ever IMO.

    Zombies in Starysober

Agree there, it's all about risk. Sometimes you can walk right by them, sometimes they will spot you from almost crazy distances. Just make sure you have your hatchet at the ready. Also imagine if you had batman level equipment, damn you would be set.

    Zombies in Starysober

use hatchet or silenced guns and use smoke grenades to lure them away from where you want to be. You might want to try playing when it's dark too, makes it way easier to stay hidden.

    AS50 or M107?

it's ok, can I have your stuff? I'll redo it now to make sure it's my legit mark. A little less this time, wonder what it was. Also more on topic thinking about the M107 noise has given me an urge to play the first halo on PC again, but I think I lost the disk :(
  22. Chris529

    AS50 or M107?

It's really anticlimactic :( such a big gun, probably the most powerful one you can get yet that's the sound it makes. It needs way more oomf if it ever wants to be cool
  23. Chris529

    AS50 or M107?

That noise is the coolest noise a gun has ever, or will ever make. I'd pick M107 just to hear it shoot.
