    You would get stuck on things all the time e.g. come back after 15 minutes to find out you went 30m before snagging on a tree and making zero progress. It's not really healthy for the game either, you could run into someone and they say hi or whatever and you just keep running in a straight line without saying a word, then get stuck on a fence. It sort of breaks immersion for everyone you come near.
  2. What if being kicked for errors or high ping was excluded? Then the only problem left is when games crash to desktop (or any 'player is losing connection' disconnects) etc but that usually doesn't happen very often. Also yeah 5 mins is a bit short, probably takes 2 to switch servers. 10 or 15 would be ideal. Also you don't have to quit the game to keep your character safe while you are busy. If there's still a lobby in SA (don't see why they would remove it) then you could just go that far and if you have to, minimize the game. Even if you are kicked for idling after ~5 minutes or so, it's a kick so you can come back anyway without being locked out. Yeah ghosters could just use this loophole to ghost, but they could also spike their ping to get kicked. It's just most are probably too lazy to jump through hoops.

I think it would be fair to lock you out no matter how you disconnected (I say this because if you crash often enough for the wait to be a big problem, maybe you should look into WHY you are crashing in the first place). It sucks if you crash but you can easily just join another server, and either stay there or come back when the 10 mins is up. It could be 5 minutes instead of 10, just to make it less harsh but it would still be pretty effective. But even 15 minutes would still not warrant complaints. Oh great, you have nothing interesting to do for 15 minutes while you wait to get back into the game to do something exciting, such as running around for hours looking for rabbits and camps.

    I read it, checked the changelog, thought about what he said, but (unfortunately) mistook it as whinging and viola. I thought this because I have no problems with the amount of zombies at the moment. While FPS has never been too great with DayZ, even now with a lot of zombies around, I barely notice much of a drop. I thought the problem lied with him but clearly I was mistaken. Thanks for clearing that up, but I think the condescending attitude was a bit unnecessary.

    Or you could fix your computer, just saying. Misunderstanding, agree that a system like this should probably have a limit; if the idea is to improve FPS what good is it doing by lowering FPS with more zombies, kind of defeats the purpose.

    Agree, but I think the breath would be more useful for checking if someone is dead, knocked out or just not moving without having to go right up to them.

    Offline Mode + Editor Mode.

    SP would be a nice addition, I don't get how there could be any opposition. If you don't like the idea of it you don't have to play it, might as well not stop other people from having fun in their own way. The editor would go hand-in-hand with SP, both would make the game better.

    Yeah, generally the servers with more PvP are the custom servers with way more guns and vehicles. Choosing a vanilla server (public or private hive) might help. It doesn't guarantee no PvP but there's way less chance of bumping into heavily armed players with more ammo than they know what to do with.

    M14 is very versatile since you can use it close/medium/long range it doesn't matter. Plus it does a ton of damage. Only problem is it's on the loud side and it's too overkill to use on zombies (you CAN but it's like going fishing with grenades)

    + I agree with impaired infected (blind/deaf/crippled of varying degrees), it makes sense not all are 100% 'healthy' but this might already be planned (from what I remember at least). - I don't think slow = powerful, I think slow = weaker than normal hence can't move very fast. IMO Invisible enemies like bloodsuckers are a big no-no as far as Dayz is concerned.
  13. It would have been a good idea to say you're slowing down first, but as long as they aren't right up your ass and they aren't lagging they should have been able to slow down.
  14. vehicles can be pretty delicate, there's not much you can do other than keep spare parts and be careful.

    You get to see the smug grin on the face you're about to destroy through your scope, that's gotta count for something. Besides that and a few other occasions it's not a big part of the game, just a thing on the side that would be pretty neat.

    Difficulties with game.

    There's a bit to figure out at first like how to lose zombies or avoid aggro entirely and learning how to use the inventory. Practice makes perfect, just try to have fun.

    It's fun to speculate, I'm glad they aren't announcing any dates because then people will just moan when they push it back. It's smart because we are coming up with these dates so we will only be disappointing ourselves if it's not out for Halloween, impossible to pin the blame on the dev team.

    I know, I just meant it like they are probably not going to keel over in pain from a shot in the gut/they won't stop because of pain or fear. Exactly they are alive, so why does it matter if they can be unconscious or not if they will bleed to death from the wounds that made them lose consciousness in the first place. guys If I'm not making sense sorry I haven't slept for a couple days.BUT Basically I mean they would be pretty tough to KO since they are so riled up and very animal-like, from OP's example we assume he shot the zombie, a pretty devastating wound for any being. In which case it makes sense to pass out from that but I don't see how you can bleed out on the floor with bullet wounds then get up and get into a physical altercation with someone. I guess briefly you could say 'If you hit it hard enough to bring it down, it's not getting back up' however I could maybe see the unconscious concept working with blunt melee weapons, e.g. baseball bat isn't the most dangerous weapon but it can knock out infected for awhile instead of trying to fatally wound them
