I actually don't mind them, I used to play Namalsk a bit and the first time I ran into one I had no idea what it was and it scared the hell out of me. It chased me for a bit and I panicked and wasted a lot of ammo shooting at where I thought it was, it was fun. I wish there were moments like that in normal DayZ, where you aren't completely certain of what you are up against all the time and it's a heart pounding challenge to beat them.

they grab you because thats what they do in stalker, and I agree they shouldn't really be in dayz (arent they only in namalsk though?) because it's a mutant.

wow 40 slots that's stupidly big when you compare it to how much CARS can store I mean a part of DayZ is finding more stuff than you can carry and you have to make a choice between keeping or dropping items. 40 slots? with that you can just take everything and haul it around no need for a camp

I think if someone tries to post a thread in ban appeals with "Global Ban" in the title it should prevent it from being posted and redirect them to a thread about global bans

I find vehicles and keep them fixed if I can, only thing to do tbh. Though it makes looting a bit harder because I don't know if it's fixed now and im just retarded but it seems like whenever I drive to buildings theres no loot so I have to get out 150/200m early and run

I guess it's alpha because there's no point in stepping it up and making big changes to the mod since the standalone DayZ is pretty much a separate game and already well underway. Normally though a game would be alpha then beta then released, though standalone will probably be released finished and the mod will stay in alpha.

commander is much better when it comes to patches, don't know why you wouldn't wanna use it anyway it's pretty good he's sayin he hopes OP isn't pissed from everyone telling him to get commander even though it's superior

my opinions: make scoped rifles a little harder to use, stop removing/banning weapons and start adding many more weapons. -
I have.. I would just rather have more than 1 shot per inventory spot, more than 1 shot before reload and a weapon with a usable sight. It's been awhile but I used to pick them up but every time I would be losing bolts, because the recovery system was giving me the shits. I had to wriggle around and experiment to get the sweet spot for the bolt sticking out of the zed's head. Oh well by the time I come across one I usually already have a hatchet so I don't bother with them, but if I had NOTHING to attack with I would use it.

true though it can be hard especially if theres some lag though if you figure out the timing you can hit them from really far away

besides crowbar which really only sucks because it's the buggiest weapon in the game I would have to say I never ever pick up the crossbow, you'll see me throwing tin cans before using that waste of space. I think bizon sd has same problem only the ammo is way rarer so its even worse

sometimes the only way to get people to understand is for them to play the game themselves. If it's possible he should give it a go and who knows he could love it. Though if you were to put it into words I would say your description is pretty accurate. Show him some videos of the game. Did you tell him about how DayZ can actually twist your stomach with fear and make your heart race with adrenaline? -

I didn't really like the idea of finding keys on zombies, but I think it would be cool if you found a house and it has a car parked on the street out front and you had to tear the house apart finding the keys. -
wat damage is way too low you can survive over 1 mag being shot into you that's just nuts

lol was just thinking that myself just because it's nato doesn't mean there's gonna be a crapload of them. I would say most AT squads would use rocket launchers of some kind also someone keeps mentioning the apparent in-built range finder on the KSVK, do they mean the scope itself or an actual distance measurement displayed inside the scope? I think an SVD does that but idk about KSVK -

I tested the KSVK in the armory before posting awhile ago and unless it's different in dayz or I'm somehow doin' it wrong there isn't a rangefinder. Even if there is gotta be a way to disable it. pythagoras's theorem A2+B2 = C2 so 8002+ let's say 3002 = 730000, square root that = 854.4m away. I think it would have to be hovering 1268.86 meters above the ground to have hypotenuse of 1500 I apologize if I misunderstood but it just doesn't make sense to have it 800m away and not high off the ground but actual distance is 1500m. I think hypotenuse cannot be larger than adjacent and opposite sides combined that's why it looks weird ^ -

1.5 km is a little exaggerated since I don't think many servers have a view range of more than just over a kilometer. I don't see the point in taking the scope off a sniper rifle to add zeroing when you can just leave zeroing out of the equation and use the scope properly. Not much fun/skill involved when your friend just says ok its 920m away not moving at all, you press a button and zero to 900 (or whatever is closest probably 800) and shoot knowing the bullet will hit. Also any pilot with common sense would not just sit in the exact same spot for too long, it's just an invitation to get shot at, a good pilot will constantly be moving and land quickly etc. I mean helicopter hunting with a rifle would be useless if it's moving which is likely the case. -

totally agree with the KSVK replacing both as50 and m107, it was the first thing that popped into my head after reading the OP. It cannot be zeroed, it is bolt action, 5 round mags and it is probably very accurate but lack of zeroing would make it harder for people new to the gun/scope type. -

bandit/hero skins are useless since like it has been said you can just heal a few friends and then go out and be a bandit doesn't mean anything, also since everyone is KOS you might have to defend yourself and get the bandit skin from idiots trying to kill you.
