    Apparently I'm playing Dayz wrong

If I'm not in with some of my online buddies from teamspeak, then I'm lonewolf (we refuse to use teamspeak while ingame, and stick to using ingame comms - it's just better) Recently came across a freshy outside of elektro, asked him if he wanted a makarov and dropped it in a nearby building so we could get away while he picked it up. Just because you do not trust people, doesn't mean you should kill on sight, I think that is what a lot of people have to learn. If they have a gun; either avoid them, or, if they have seen you and are hostile - hunt them down. No question about that.

[Questionable] New military grade spawn area?

I just use this: http://dayzmap.info/ No idea how correct it actually is.

[Questionable] New military grade spawn area?

Those open Cargo containers have a 4% military loot chance too, and those small garage/workshops.

Anyway to track a player down ?

Other than click on all the servers to load their player lists, nothing really

    I'M ON SOME BATMAN SHIT!!!!!

It's all good until someone trying to copy you comes along and axes you, thinking you're one of those meanie sniper bandits. :D

    Is this admin abuse?

They might pay for the server, but that does not give them the right to do what they like. All they are doing is renting the DayZ files, that's it, all rules set by Rocket are to be adhered to - no matter how much they dislike it. Restarting servers because you got your items stolen is abuse and will get you blacklisted.

    New audibility mechanic in 1.7.2?

Look's like we will have to test it out and provide feedback once it's out ;)

The thing with the broken legs

People actually blow out the hospital windows? Man, you become a fish in a barrel if you do that. I go around the back - there's usually a medical box beside the ladder, and if not, there is always one on the roof. Then it also becomes a good place to scope out the greater area for players.
  9. I've played on a server hosted by my friend (private hive) and I must say, it was terrible. We ran around Cherno, then up to Stary Sobor and NWAF, we got all the good loot - there was no risk of running through open fields or shooting every zombie like a bunch of mad men. We did everything that you wouldn't do on a normal server, I told them about how unexciting it all was, just to be able to run anywhere and loot anything. While the coop was fun, I will admit, it was also very bland - all we did was watch each others backs when a zombie got aggrod, there was no point to any of it, no incentives. I'm hoping I can talk them into playing on a real server, to play coop how it is meant to be played. Running around blasting horde after horde of zombies is not what this game is, and that is all no-pvp servers are, it is boring and uneventful - you have no risks, so there are no feelings of reward for anything you do. What's the point of playing coop only, accumulating gear and making a home base if there is no risk of actually having to defend it from other people? All it becomes is a collection server, there will be no point in playing, no reason to do anything, no risk - these servers will be the ones that people get bored of and die out first. DayZ is meant to be played always watching over your shoulder - it's the fear of someone sitting in a bush with you in their cross hair that makes everything worth it.

To Rocket & the “Hardcore” crowd

This is a fucking retarded attitude' date=' and sadly it kills games. People should be more open minded. [/quote'] Rocket has stated many times that he doesn't care if the mod dies because people don't want to play it, for him it's art. He is trying to make something different in a bland world, he is trying to make us feel emotions, and he is succeeding. That is all he cares about. The thing that is going to kill this, is close-minded players that demand it be something, or like something, that has been done to death - because it makes for a better game experience. This isn't about trying to cater to your ideals of games and making it fun, this is to entice raw emotions that you don't get anywhere else in gaming nowadays. It's something that steps over the line and it's a brilliant breath of fresh air. So yes, if you don't like the direction this bus is going, it is advised that you politely step off to keep the other passengers comfortable on their journey. You all know what it's like to have to sit with one of those passengers. Why do people believe they have some sense of entitlement to direct development away from where the designer was going just because they aren't having any fun? If you can't see yourself playing the finished game as outlined by Rockets mission statements here on the forums, I really don't see why you think this game is being designed with you in mind.

    Newbie imperssions on version 1.7.1.5

I just spawned a few times to see how bad it really is, took me 5-10 minutes each time to find a primary/secondary weapon. If anything, people need to clear the coast as soon as they can and stop panicking about food or water. I got from the coast near Elektro all the way up to Gorka and Berezino, only stopping to pick up a pistol and hatchet; once I arrived up there, I looted a few buildings and had more than enough supplies to survive.
