  1. No need to report errors like this, perhaps the best solution is just to PM one of the staff members rather than make a post about it. Unfortunately it happens all the time, hackers have reduced this mod to their playing field, but this should be fixed with the standalone. Fingers crossed. :)

[Trading] a lot in stock. Robin's shop [open]

Nice shop! I can offer you an SVD Camo, what's up for trade? PM me!

free coyote pack for anyone who is interested

No need to advertise stuff like this.. Coyote packs are fairly easy to find, and there's a certain challenge in finding them yourself. Just my opinion. Happy trading. :)
  4. Oh god, it's beautiful. I'd heard so many rumors around DayZ using the ArmA 3 engine, then back to 2, then 3 again. It's great to get some clarity on the matter. Just saying, player numbers per game is not an in-game feature, it's server side, so if the server hosts were to update, which is unlikely, then that would be possible but only then. Don't get me wrong though - it's beyond a doubt that there will be some extremely large servers, with numbers similar to those you have posted. I'm not making any personal promises but it would be in the best mind for the server hosts to upgrade, as they would be getting more business done.

    Emergency Medical Support - (EMS)

Cheers, I look forward to working with you! What's our 'home server'? I'm based in Australia, so it may be a bit hard connection to a server thousands of kilometers away. But hey, I think I could contribute some help to your team, I'm a hero, and I guess you could say I'm pretty mature for my age. Added me on Skype yet?

    Boomerang Sniper Detection System?

You wouldn't even need a boomerang, you could have an alternative. Maybe like an earpiece that tells you the direction that noise is coming from? I just feel that would be less awkward and more usable.

Dayz Gone By: A Trailer of Sorts

Wow, beautiful animations! You are very good, keep it up! You made everything look so smooth and natural, extremely well done. Was After Effects used?

    Best day in DayZ

Impressive! Today I found my first ghillie suit, and got an SVD Camo off a dead guy. It was so amazing! Thanks for sharing.

    Disappearing vehicles?

You have to select the 'Save' option before a server restart or they will be wiped and respawned.
  12. Good evening everyone! I know this is only my first post and I'm not gonna make a long introduction, I'll keep it short and sweet. I'm solitude, my real name is Jake. Anyway, after playing DayZ for a while recently, I've noticed that the flashlight is both.. A) Unrealistic and infinitely-lasting. B) Not compatible with any guns. What I'm basically proposing here is that the flashlight (In the new DayZ standalone game) be completely reworked to work with more weapons, and function more as a flashlight really would. After all, if reality is the inspiration, you can't have a flashlight that has infinite battery life, can't be held with any weapon, and takes up both hands 100% of the time. I've summed up my suggestions into three main points, as follows. 1 - The flashlight should be a one-handed weapon, and should be weildable alongside any other secondary weapon. After all, it's not exactly a big feat to hold a gun in one hand a torch in the other. If this were applied in game, the flashlight would become much more realistic, and much, much more useful. Though some may argue it would be 'overpowered', and in a certain light it would be, however it would add to the game's realism. For example, you're trudging through the woods, it's getting dark. You use the last of your DMR ammo on a bandit you find, and just to stay cautious you make sure that you have your side arm ready. After a short time you can no longer see clearly, and decide it's flashlight time, so you pull out your handgun and flashlight in separate hands, and the ability to use a weapon and have illumination is now at your fingertips. 2 - Batteries batteries batteries! You should be able to find batteries in such places that they would be in reality, such as supermarkets, homes, hospitals, etc. By Right clicking on your flashlight and clicking 'check battery level', the remaining battery level and time would be displayed. Let's say each battery would last 4 hours, and the flashlight would contain two, so on average you should expect around 8 hours of battery life. This part isn't really up to me but that seems fair enough, as you wouldn't be using the flashlight in excess (to that extent, usually), and 8 hours in-game is a fair while longer than the average life expectancy. 3 - Light drainage - I'm not sure if the topic title makes too much sense, but what I'm suggesting is when your flashlight is under 1 hour battery (or something of the like), it would slowly begin getting darker, flickering and jamming (semi-dying) until the batteries are out of energy. As an example the indie horror game Slender (now Slender: The Eight Pages) uses such effects to add to the fear factor, it would be a great addition to DayZ. Anyway, I'm going with my better judgement and leave this one to democracy, please voice your opinion in the poll and let me know what your thoughts are on this topic! I personally think it would just improve DayZ ever so slightly, and many small updates like this would help the dev team perfect DayZ. Thanks!
  13. I'd go with using up a heap of battery. While I'm no expert I'd say it's a decent gamble to say that a pair of NVG's would chew through 2 D-size batteries in under 3 hours.

    DayZ Standalone Pre-order

From what I've heard, it's coming out in alpha first, a bit like how Minecraft first released. It's kind of like a pre-order, it'll be a lot cheaper and also a lot buggier, but once it goes through updates it will all be sorted, so no real demand for a pre-order. Just purchase it online when it's in alpha.
  15. Hey everyone! I'll keep it short but I'd like to propose a complete rework of the 'infection system' in DayZ, with the standalone version releasing soon and all. By no means am I demanding this to happen, just I would love to see something of the like in-game! I think the infection system is lousy and unrealistic. If you get infected by a zombie, you lose blood and cough. Well, to me that's not enough. I would like to see you start to rot, start changing into a zombie, and lose control of your senses gradually. Further refining my suggestions in detail, I'll write them here as follows. 1 - System stays as is, but with additional features. Currently I like the way the system works, just I don't think it's enough to be called an infection as is, and there should be multiple different infections caused from different things, as stated in argument #3. 2 - Redone blood loss system (while infected), with a small chance of the blood clotting and no longer bleeding. Possibly the addition of 'High strength' antibiotics and then just the usual, which would both reduce or remove the infection depending on how long you have had it. 3 - More ways to become infected - Hanging around dead bodies, getting hit by a zombie, or breaking a bone could have a chance to infect you, but all in different ways. For example, a broken bone, if left untreated for too long, could attract flies (you'd be more easily heard), could slowly drain your blood til about 3000 or so, and could give you 'Headaches' - Similar to pain but the screen loses all colour, and your character looks down and makes loud noises of pain for a short period before recovering. The infection would be curable with antibiotics, and the headache would be curable with painkillers/morphine. On the other hand an infection from zombies would slowly turn you into a zombie (so goes the mythos) in small increments, for example at 12000 blood you would be getting headaches, maybe pain, and slow blood loss. At 9000, the headaches would get a little longer (15 seconds max) and have a chance of .5% calculated every second, similar to passing out of blood loss. At 6000 blood, your headaches would become migraines and would begin to deal damage and take up to 1 minute. By 3000 blood, you would start losing your humanity (not as in the level) and slowly become a zombie. I.E. attacking your team mates or nearby survivors involuntarily. If your blood dropped below 1000, you would then become a full zombie and have the option to respawn. tl;dr = If you get hit by a zombie, you slowly become a zombie.

    Improved infection system.

Even so; when you died of an infection your not-quite-dead body would become fully infected, and act as a normal zed. You would be able to watch it while you are dead but not influence anything it does. You would have the option to respawn.
  17. Solitude

    Improved infection system.

Perhaps it is. ;) No but I mean once you're dead, you become a zed and have no control whatsoever of what it does. So there's really no point staying alive after, but the zombie has your items on it and looks like a survivor. What do you think?
  18. Solitude

    Improved infection system.

Lazy. ;) There was a tl;dr. Check the bottom of the thread.

    Survivor Zombies

Infected person = Zombie. Technically you can't control yourself when you're infected, so dying of an infection or something like that would lead to your corpse not dying but becoming a zombie. I could see that happening, would be nice! Can't wait to see a hero zombie. ;)
  20. I agree! It could be that you could find 'duct tape' or something of the like and use it to tape the Military Flashlight to the weapon. That would be epic!

Are you a heavy machine gunner and want one??

Being realistic, it takes a team of 2+ to set up a MG encampment even with the most modern and lightweight technology. They weight a ton, you wouldn't be able to carry all of that in your backpack! :P
