Hey, make sure you firstly run both ArmA II and ArmA II Operation Arrowhead, and then both as combined operations. Also just a tip, the DayZ server rely on hives - There is one public hive and many, many private hives. On one hive you may have one set of items, but on another you may have none. Most servers with a country name then a number will be public hive, and will share data. For example AU #500 and US #691 have the same hive. basically you can choose to play on any public hive server, or a private hive, it's completely up to you. Have fun! :)

I just died with a ghillie, GPS, AS50 and all this other stuff from logging in and was teleported to debug plains, so I would be very appreciative of you if you could supply me with any kind of gun. as50> 14 mags m4a1 cco sd> 10 mags m14> 3 mags>on me Any would be fine! :3

Similar posts to this are all over this forum, it's all been suggested before and similar features are bound to be in the DayZ standalone anti-hack system.

To explain the servers, basically it's divided into hives. There's a main hive, then many, many private hives. If you're using DayZ Commander you can choose to filter out non-official (Or private hive) servers, and there are public hive servers based worldwide. Good luck! :)

How about customizable gear? Like a sash you can wear, or berets, different camo colours, etc. Then it would be easy to distinguish between teams, friends, allies, foes, etc. :) -
Exactly. You don't want too many people hanging around waiting for a .50 caliber sniper, everyone would have overpowered gear in a very short matter of time.

Well DayZ runs on real-time, so seasons would be real-time too, beyond a doubt.

Loving this idea, sounds very nice! I can just image spraying a magazine from an AKM into a zombie and watching the gore and blood fly everywhere. Happy days.

With ArmA II now slightly outdated something like this should be possible in the standalone. Rocket said to expect improvements to everything and I know a new custom weapon feature was added, hopefully it will be what you're looking for. :D

When put that way, I can see what you mean. Perhaps something similar will be around in standalone, but after rethinking, I'm gonna go with orlok and say it suits ArmA better than DayZ. Nice suggestion anyway. :) -

I recommend looking at some starter guides, they can be a real boost when you're first starting out. There are some YouTube guide channels around, just do a google search for DayZ starter guide, and you'll get some very useful results. Good luck. :)
