This has to be my favorite thread in the entire forum. There is no other way to track what Rocket is doing except here - and I'm thankful for that. I'll be adding more tomorrow... if I see him, something tells me I will.

Yes. Many hackers. Come off that mostly private server - play on more populated public server (I know, it can be scary) and you'll see. It won't take long. Arma II is great, I'm not saying it is not. It will become old news once Arma III hits. At that point I think my Arma II copy will no longer be used, seeing as there will be better, more optimized and more realistic engines (Arma III) out... -

I wish you would - since you don't seem to make many useful replies in the first place. :thumbsup: :emptycan: Snip'in a small section of my rant post to make it seem like I didn't at least state something in my post, well thats just rude. Stating it gave me a headache is a big game breaker - seeing as its on the relative same engine. Nite. -

Next your going to want Alt View to be removed... or restricted because it swivels to much. ... See above post. Gives players headaches so you can have a restricted view. No. Didn't read your reply all the way... to big. -
If that don't work... try to restart. Windows can be a whore at adding registrys sometimes.

Those to photos I feel help make my point even more. peripheral vision. When I'm looking straight ahead, I should be able to see the ground closer to my area, to my right and my left. The blue'd out areas - almost grant a tunnel vision as compared to 3rd. How a target could easily be missed because of a FPV restriction. Didn't move, just switched views - might not seem like a lot, but it is. Notice the black dot on the run-way... over 4 feet of view where added by changing view points, and thats on something thats very close. In a real world situation - you are CLEARLY going to see that guy to your left, CLEARLY. Because this is a game, and we are pretty much looking through a small window (our monitor) to gather information, we are restricted in regards to a FPV... -

Damn... I thought he was putting in every stupid idea that ever pop'd up... I thought that this is why the suggestion forum was created, so he could ... pick what he wants without looking at the communities input.. Rocket relies heavily on us for feedback. The majority of players opinions on 3rd person view is that its wanted. I feel more comfortable using this view, not sure why, but I do. Not to mention that for some odd reason I get a headache with FPV, EVEN WITH HEAD-BOB turned down. No ones complaining about zombies being used to gauge a persons area or anything of that nature... yet since this main argument is about being able to use 3rd person to cheat, isn't using what I listed a worse method? Abusing another game mechanic to defect players is what this debate is about down to its core. The amount of time I use to look over walls, over small hills, or around trees to track players using 3rd person view is a small percentage compared to using zombies to locate players. I often rely on sound. Being in first person doesn't do anything for the horror feel of the game, I switch to first person when I'm about to get into a gun fight most the time because of the down time created in bringing up sights from 3rd. Lastly - IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT. Having servers with options is not a bad thing. The select few that desire this type of restriction could play the game on the servers with the set terms they are interested with. I'm not saying work on every type of suggestion every type of person makes... thats retarded. I am however saying that the settings are there already, there are already servers that support FPV ONLY... Lets try together... IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT. -
This needs mods attention - posting names of cheat packs ain't gonna help. The little brats are onto it now...

My view is if people want to use 3rd person and get a more enjoyable gaming experience out of it - let them. Have servers with restricted options, that force these types of options, and that way the few that do seem to want this, get it. Oh wait... this already a option. -

So its settled - keep it as it is. First person view servers - if thats your freakin' cup of tea GO THERE. If there ain't a lot of players, maybe it sucks then. I want my wider field of view. -

A sniper limited on a pistol as secondary? ... Hell no. Lost me there. There are plenty US Army Snipers that carry a lot of mags, for their secondary clearing pistol... I don't like the idea of trying to limit some player styles based on making some weapons a harder carry combo. Someones really gonna have a easier time carrying a M4 and MP5 as compared to a M24 and a M9? I ok system if it was handled realistically. I like the idea of being able to reload single bullets, this was already talked about by Rocket I believe... and many, many others... I do support the over all method of handling ammo - as I have in other threads typed out similar to this... There is even one guy out there that did a completely sexy looking UI and plan lay-out on reddit I believe. -
The idea of making any type of revive mechanic stands very dangerous for player abuse. It would be neat to see someone able to perform CPR on a person thats unconscious - something that could take time, and or fail - you know, them LOONNNNGGGG times when someones out and you just happened to leave your epi in your other ghillie suit?

You wake up in a random bed room, with a extremely heavy hangover. You roll over, to see a 4'6", 298Lb, "women" ... you're choices are... 1) Kill yourself for being that drunk 2) Kill her 3) Keep her around, in the event zombies find you - you can always run faster then her 4) Get drunk and stay hidden with her in her apartment and repeat options to player again in 14 hours -
I'm not getting on that freakin' bird. I'm rebuilding humanity right where I am.

That is why stronger announcements would be a positive for this community. There are so many, unregistered, prying eyes that also need direction. I know I'll wait, and I'll be happy as hell when the SA is released... What about the guys that just stumbl'd upon Frankies videos, and mistake DayZ for the WarZ as the standalone? I mean there is literally at times, a bread trail that we are following, and I consider myself well informed. There are still confused, simple individuals out there that download this WarZ all the time, play for a few minutes, get completely turned off by it, turn it off, and write off DayZ standalone as a pretty weak sauce game... A offical thread should be placed at least some place in the forums that new guys will SEE to inform them that DayZ is not WarZ, as stupid as it sounds. I had a bud freakin' tell me DayZ SA was released... and he was pointing me to WarZ ... I hate this. Not Rocket, nor his approach - its his baby (the game) so he should get to raise it as he sees fit (even if he does drop the ball entirely on giving us updates) but because the sly - poo faced tactics of WarZ, DayZ might not have the biggest impact it could of had without a untarnished name thanks for WarZ.... To be honest, the income generated from a game is often used to re-project it, and make it even more successful... This mishap has had a bigger dent into it then meets the eye... and I think thats what hit Rocket hard... Rocket man - you gotta be like Joe Dirt, and keep on keepin' on... lmfao. PS... Sorry if I get this thread locked... :D
