^ Lmao. Did you go and check out his (even though it looks like a her) gear? I'm guessing no. Sweet bambi stalking bro - You'll get them first round impacts at some point...
-
... Cute name-tag server bro. Skip to about 5:30 in footage guys, everything else is annoying music with pointless running. Any decent player would of had you dead to rights - since you left yourself positioned his direction. Was it my screen or his low FPS that made the video off? -.- Low veg on his part I guess. The only good thing I can say about this is nice job at not being violent to take it.

Rocket is attempting to make all his users turn into mindless zombies from madness due to lack of information. His release date of his "standalone" (which will be the real world crisis - as the infection has spread already in my area, due to informing friends of DayZ MOD, which are now... HUNGRY for the game as well). Hes going to trigger the mindless biting of people, rampaging down the streets from house to house on the 21st when he declares the standalone is pushed right to next year... Oh you cleaver, cleaver Rocket you.

Not sure if it was suggested... had a NEW buddy place a marker down marking our truck with gear... truck got stolen. After we left camp for 20 minutes I map'd back to our camp, saw the marker which was labeled "ORP" ... I said "Man someone stole our truck - some ass hole put ORP right in its place..." him "... Oh... everyone can see that....?" ... Anyways thats what gave me this most likely already suggested idea. Being able to mark your map, and not the "community" map... would be a nice feature. Now I know that no one would really use this... unless... In the standalone they said they are going to remove the way point system entirely (shift left click)... well if you marked your map - you'd put your base at risk of being discovered... I think that the only way point being used is if the player has taken the risk and made a map marker on their personal map they found. So a person thats not so great, or hasn't spend 500 hours on Cherno like most of us has, will be tempted to mark his map... and when he gets balled up hes going to be even ... more QQ? :D I like QQ....

[Video] Taviana Heights - Arma 2: DayZ Mod - Ep.4

"We killed him buddies!" "Yup, hes got M4... Mine, Ohh hes got a nice pack! Mine!" ... "You know what friends, every things mine..." lmfao. -
Please - for the love of god... STOP RELOADING THAT POOR LITTLE GLOCK! ;)
-
Rocket - throw us a bone.... or a can of beans rather.
-
Pretty much, thats why I mentioned it being a risk if carried on you.

Booo FPV only. I like being able to see whats off to my left and right like IRL. The only con to being 3rd for realism is the fact that ya' can see over small walls. Even if thats the case - the guy thats already searching activity for you is most likely going to get the drop on you anyways using his sound. Might I suggest... FPV... and remove 3D sound... because that also aids the person in locating people... Point is ... I want my damn peripheral vision, because I have it IRL. No I can't see over walls, but a single monitor won't cover what the human eye does... I can see my dresser right now as I type - its almost 90 degrees to my right... FPV ... doesn't give me this.
-
Lmao nice man. I thought you had the ConAir take off for a second int he 130... boy was I wrong.
-
... Not very good at the editor crap - but did my best, and will be improving because I've so many funny and good videos to share. Tried the new map, had mic problems (very low voice) - tried to keep it short. Was a fresh spawn in a fresh map... (Taviana) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_Sn8NPXNGA&feature=plcp Toward the end I gave the guy my back... I wanted to see if we'd be able to game together a little longer... You'll see the results...
-
Not sure how to take that - but thanks.

Find a better server with a better admin to play on if you suspect somethings wrong. They can employe mods within the mod to spectate you for cheating and this can be abused by weak-willed admins...

I'm not really a full fledged bandit - but this is the end of the world we are talking about. If someone has something better that I need in the lawless environment thats presents itself.. IMA GET MINE! I do enjoy seeking out combat with other squads or players that are experienced. I will follow bambis sometimes to see how they act, and 90% of the time will let them be on their way. I will follow bandits and make sure they are really true bandits before I start to attack them for their gear. Hero skins I leave alone out of respect for the work it took to get them. I'm like a on - off switch for play style, and often am a better person when not playing with buddies, I'll often bypass rather then confront. When my buddies are on though... we lookin' to play... For that rush - you true bandits know what I'm talking about. Often its a problem brought on honestly because the end-game is really hard to establish in something like this. If I have everything, and don't need anything... what else is there to do besides hunt zombies for numbers, or players for the rush?

Getting the Alienware X51 (i5 with GTX 660 one), what kind of performance can I expect to see in this game
finkone replied to AfterShave's topic in New Player Discussion
650 dollar HP Pavilion HPE tower, 100 dollar monitor... upgraded RAM, power supply (700W) and Video card to a 7850 Radeon 2G for under 300. 1050 dollars later (complete computer) runs Arma 2 DayZ lowest frames hit on Cherno is 38 FPS... Runs all other current crap at 60 strong, (hitman, far cry3) ... I'll never buy a "name brand gaming" computer ever again in my life. -
Consolidated Weapons/Equipment suggestions
finkone replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Can hit standing 400m shots all day with a M24/M110 IRL... 600m pretty reliably (not stress shooting, just a normal rested shot) ... so... yea.... -
Nice GPU man (joking). Regardless, even if you had a better rig - DayZ is a mod off Arma II and is pretty taxing on the system. Google Arma II parameters and see what you find from there, some things might help in changing parameters around to make slightly better use of your system.

*Sits down at desk to write a letter to Rocket, rather then Santa* Dear Rocket, my steam is broke. I log in, once a day... I click store... I do a DayZ search - waiting for DayZ standalone to pop up... instead, it takes me to a game I've owned for a long time... Arma II. Could you please direct me to the correct location, or perhaps method to solve this problem? Thats all I want by Xmas... or slightly before the end of the world so I can enjoy my last few days alive in a digital world...? Love FinKone. .... Just busting your balls. Last I heard (posted some time around the 26th of Nov was that a week long evaluation was being conducted to determine if the standalone was going to be released this year... and if anything I'm at my boiling point for news, even if its bad news - along with everyone else I'm sure. Yes, I check the blogs and so forth in relation to DayZ... I'm just trying to see if that hard exterior shell of Rocket can be cracked up just a bit... for his loyal followers.

Change use of .50 cal Sniper Rifles
finkone replied to JimJam (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
In regards to the M107... 28lbs dry (no ammo) is a no joke weapon system. Every 7th around shot down range is 1 pound of lead released just to give you guys a idea (thats not counting the casing or the contents) The best common misconception of the M107 is that it is a semi-automatic sniper system... The weapon system is a 3 MOA system, and was made by Barrett and originally submitted as a EOD system for counter IED/material situations and solutions to be employed with engineers and EOD... The weapon was rejected on this basis and was sent home crying - Barrett then took the weapon system, renamed it a "Long Range Sniper Rifle" and resubmitted the unchanged weapon - the application was resubmitted to congress and sounded bad-ass, so it was approved. Anyone that has been into the Army Sniper School in the past 5 years (such as myself) is told that this thing is great for hitting people as the same rationalized range of a M24, or M110 - if you are unsure why - educate yourself on MOA (Minute of Angle) and then figure the rest out from there. Don't get me wrong, ya' can hit a freakin' technical (car) far out... but if you are shooting a single person 1200 meters out there is so many other, better solutions. No one uses these "carrying cases" during a deployment situation... they are used to transport the weapons from point a to point b, and the case is left at the FOB or COP. The weapon system can be broken down and stored, or shared between a 2 man team, but rarely happens. I've seen these weapon systems fired at close range targets, from the kneeling position unsupported so thats a myth that prone is the only option. Now that we've covered a few things... lets take other things into consideration. M107 is not the only heavy weapon system in the game. For example the M240B (belt fed) weapon system is 23 pounds dry, thats without its 100rnd'er hanging from there. That guy is fired from the unsupported position also. Will we be forced to be slower carrying a engine block, or a main rotor for a helo in our backpack if realism is the deal we are going to get carried away on? Our characters already move at a PT stud pace with a ruck, regardless of other factors - in a game where running is the most common thing, is this something we want to implement? Slowing a active sniper from making a escape will only lead to server hopping more and more for those "legit" Cherno/Lectro snipers - do we really want to encourage more Alt + F4ing, or ghosting? While it would be nice to see some type of heatcat system placed into the game, or some better ruck sack system in the game, it wouldn't be fair to only slow a player because he has a more dangerous weapon system. The only respectable thing to do would be implement a system that covers not just weapons but all items in your pack - but once we do that, the sniper with the M107 will roll low ammo, light weight... and you might have to dump that car engine in your pack to catch him... which in turn wouldn't lead the any solution at all in the first place. So I understand where you are coming from - me and my buddies always joke about being able to move so far, non-stop, with such a heavy load, and need very little water considering the movement speeds and distances we are doing... but I think if they ONLY did this to weapon systems that you dislike - it wouldn't solve anything at all. -
4:23:06 ... -.- *watches*

Defending a suggestion - Sure. Attempting to slam anyone that disagrees - Retarded. I had to make I think 4 visits here to bicker with you why your eating and drinking input was a joke. At first I didn't even care about this topic but I had to join in after seeing the first page of ranting because I enjoy a good rant. I'm happy I could help clear things up within your topic about why the food / water ratio is pretty nice how it is. -

finkone replied to DiazWaffleCrabstro's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
OP - Wrong again. If my body is broken down, just because I stop'd for a bit after several days of hard moving, doesn't mean my water and food will just BE OK. It has to play catch-up so to speak, but whatever. You're coming off as broken and dumb at this point man. ;) I made my points, Mr Ima Defend My Topics is all this thread has turned into. Often military "legs" are broken down into 600-800M movements, short halts for those that don't get it. Yea yea, for a map-check and so forth but I'll be damned if you don't find someone snacking or drinking water during a short halt - even in country. -
... I was weighing in on it - with agreeing with the person above me as not supporting it. If there is ANY TYPE of skill or development character wise, I don't want to see its progression of have to make a choice using a menu or anything of that nature. I should have to figure it out on my own. As you said - everyone has a opinion and I voiced mine... agreeing with the person that posted above me... ?
-
Not sure why you quoted me - I was agreeing with the person above me, and in general you are also... but anyways... Billy is gonna get killed with his friend once they approach the mechanic for help - because hes gonna steal their UAZ. 1.3Mil players for a mod is already a blockbuster - that is a monster record for any type of mod. With that said, this is a mod, it would TAKE OFF - if ever dedicated advertisement took place. I am entirely against any type of perk class, or skill class, or picking a background for my character. Take your regular old guy get him tired, wet, hungry, scared, and give'em a weapon - he will do unthinkable things. Think I'm shitting you? Check youtube videos of black friday crowd madness - people biting each other. So Billy and his buddy can be interested in skill-set all he wants... if it was IRL, I'd be thinking, nope another mouth to feed, another possible enemy in my AO, I managed to link up with several friends, I know I can rely on them, if that "mechanic" looking guy comes my way I'll kill him for his wrench.
