Hacker in my private hive! ( AGAIN )

Best way to prevent hackers to come to your server is to use a whitelister and only allow people who are whitelisted. Disadvantage ofcourse is that your private server won't be that popular.

Things you shouldn't suggest? (Thread idea/game)

A big red button in cherno that calls down a meteor shower on chernarus
  3. Yes, I agree with everything, although, why would you want to shoot down a helicopter? I mean, give it time to land, kill the pilot, and fly off. And if you're getting fired at by the door gunner, trust me, it's very difficult to hit a target from a moving helicopter. And if it would auto hover finally, you have an easier shot on the door gunner than he has on you. The rocket launcher on the other hand should stay exactly the way it is. Difficult to find, takes up 2 slots, difficult to aim with, etc... I liked the game as it was before Rocket introduced helicopter crash sites. (ofcourse, there were almost no cheaters at that time); - The one with a NVG was a god and idol for everyone else - The m107 was just a wet dream for every survivor in Chernarus. - No L85A2 with that ridiculous OP thermal sight. - No AS50 with the ridiculous accuracy.
  4. An experienced arma sniper can estimate the distance with the naked eye up to 700m, which is basicly the max range for killing someone efficiently (I killed someone with a DMR at 850m but the guy didn't move at all, even after a couple of shots...). And thanks to the AS50's extensive accuracy, your zero doens't have to be accurate. Actually, the 50 cal snipers alongside the L85 should be banned from the game, by a simple reason that when an enemy has one of those, the chances of his target's survival are minimalistic (1 shot kills, infrared, ... I think you get my point). Heck, even the DMR is basicly a 1 shot kill (unconscious after first shot, makes followed up shot easy). And the whole point of this game is not to just hunt for a sniper and then just camp away at one of the high value loot buildings.
  5. Yes, + you need to count in the fact that alot of people get banned cause of cheating and buying another CD key. In other words, the same player might be registered 4 times. Long story short, that 1.2m might just contain about 100,000 unique players on this moment (regarding the fact that a great deal of players quit the game already cause of hackers or other obvious reasons)

    NWAF: Sniping spots?

I was just trying to help the guy by telling him the exact position where I always use to snipe. I don't know what's sarcastic about that...

    NWAF: Sniping spots?

Try coordinates 042051 ... It's a little hill, and you can camp under a tree with vision of N Barracks, Fire station & Control tower

    AS50 TWS?

BAF AS50 TWS is NOT legit in DayZ. There's only 1 weapon with thermal sight which is legit, and that is the L85A2 AWS.

Hence the [/end of sarcasm mode] caption in Bravo's post. Get a brain before you try to convince people you have one.

Cobra, maybe you should join another clan's teamspeak and get on your knees and beg them to let you join their clan... And maybe you should stalk them and ambush them later if your join request gets denied. I even have a better idea, let someone else do the stalking for you (I.e. Nelis, who misteriously "spawned" at our basecamp) Go fix your attitude instead of behaving like a baby on the internet... The community doesn't need / want you.
  12. It's difficult to 'snipe' with a Lee enfield at such a distance. Plus, if you set the quality to the highest setting, you can cleary see that the player looted the body, then moved a bit and at last dissapeared (equals disconnecting). However, I don't think the dev team will global ban this player for just disconnecting during a firefight (which is annoying, but not worth their time).

[VIDEO] This is why people shoot first

@RedSeal, I feel your pain bro Some guy spotted me in elektro and asked if I was friendly. I replied positive and we both went our seperate ways. 5 mins later I heard shots at the docks of elektro and I thought that was the same guy who needed help. I decided to go to the docks and help him out. When I arrived, I saw that he was being chased by 2 zombies. Took them both down, and asked if he was okay. I turn around to not point my gun at him (people get a strange feeling when there are guns pointed at them) only to getting killed by him. Since that day (and believe me, I have had tons of those days), I told myself to kill every not-on-our-teamspeak-survivor I see.

    Cheater NL4

Must say I didn't even see the tank when I was driving through Stary Sobor (jasperges was driving behind me). When he was yelling at me he was getting shot at, I drove back to help him out, only to notice the tank was heading our way, shooting with the machine gun and the main weapon. I got out of my vehicle, disconnected and took the server offline as soon as possible (and the server is still offline as we speak). I don't know if there were multiple tanks. It would be much appreaciated if a DayZ administrator could check out the server logs of NL4 and see that whoever spawned that tank gets banned (permanently?). Thanks in advance!

[Report] Spawned in Wilderness/Debug Forest/Endless Ocean

Well I experience the same problem as everybody else who just spawns in the middle of nowhere... my GPS shows the top left corner of the map although when I'm walking/running, the GPS doesn't seem to indicate that I'm moving... Walking to the SE doesn't help cause you'll only end up even further away from the smallest indication of civilization (players spawning before they actually spawn on their saved location. I do however found some cows and a bunny, but no freaking tree to cook the meat so those animals are also a lost cause) & when you reconnect to the server, you will find yourself back at the original position the first time you spawned in the wilderness. Guess the only thing to do now is to wait for a dev admin to reply... EDIT: joining another server will move you to the debug forest (it did for me) which is at coordinates 005116. If you run to the east, you will find pavlovo, a small town north of kamenka.
