US1249 Hacker named "Mike" spawning random vehicles and using God Mode. (Video Proof)
fujin31@yahoo.com posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Logged into the server and noticed two vehicles on top of a nearby building. Not long after I arrived I hear a helicopter spinning up. Nobody can take this many shots with an AKM, nobody. Hacks at it's best. Ban this script kitty please. Time of incident: 21:15ish EST US Location: Middle of Chernogorsk -
Wow, the barracks are lame--NO THEY'RE AWESOME

I've ran across two of the boxes myself. Not sure if it's hacks or something that's meant to be.. -
US 1046 - Admins kicking to protect their vehicles
fujin31@yahoo.com replied to Garful's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hey Kyriel, yes it would show up in the logs as an admin kick. The crappy thing is since DayZ had the huge hack attack on their system a while back, now only the server admins have control of the logs. It used to be that the DayZ staff had access to the logs without having to actually ask the Admin. Since the big attack they changed it over to Admins being the only ones that have direct access to the logs and the staff having to actually ask for the logs. With this happening the whole process is a huge pain now compared to what it once was. That screenshot shows a definite admin kick/ban with a reason provided, albeit there really isn't a reason just the slang. If they've banned you all for sure and the footage posted is all you have; I would just walk away and find another server and consider yourselves rid of a shitty admin. Anyone who bans with the reason, "get fucked", isn't even worth playing under anyway. You all seem like a good group of peeps, don't let this stuff get to you all. After seeing that screenshot I wouldn't even worry about it anymore, consider it good riddance. I'm pretty sure you can't just randomly ban though. Especially with the reasoning being, "get fucked". More than likely they've read this post and are upset and did it due to all of this. I wouldn't even worry with it. If you report they're liable to come up with some off the wall story about you doing some bizarre stuff just to counter the argument and try to validate that the ban was for good reason. It's just not worth the trouble that it takes in my opinion and normally ends in a huge argument and troll filled thread. I would just move on as I said and consider it good riddance. "Get fucked", goes to show what kind of people you are dealing with here. I would just shrug it off. Best wishes to you all! -
US 1046 - Admins kicking to protect their vehicles

One example of the nature of this error. http://dayzmod.com/f...t-into-a-match/ Just because you see the error, "You were kicked from the game", doesn't always mean an Admin manually kicked you. Battleye kicks using the exact same message for many things other than player violations and bans. This all revolves back to my original statement regarding the inconvenience of not having a definite error code for each kick so that we can identify exactly what caused it. Edit: Not going to have the time to come back to this. In closing I'm not taking sides here, they could have very well been the reason you all were getting kicked. I'm simply throwing it out there that this error doesn't mean 100% of the time that it's an admin kick. Simply put, it sucks and rouses a lot of confusion and suspicion in situations like the one you all found yourself in. I ran up on a camp the other day and as I was approaching received the exact same message. When I was kicked the thought instantly ran through me, "An admin just kicked me to protect their camp.". Upon logging back in, everything was as it was and I proceeded to raid the camp with no resistance. If you all want a clearer picture as to whether or not this is definitely admin abuse, keep pushing them. If they are willing to kick once things get real, they will more than likely continue to do so. Time stamp your videos showing uninterrupted play for a good portion of the time before you reach their camp. Get a kill with their name on screen, then see what happens. If the kicks continue, you will then have much more solid proof of admin abuse than the video you have now which just shows a random kick with Kyriel <sp? sorry if it is>, running outside of the map and a story posted above it. Had I been in your shoes I would have been suspicious too. There's just too many variables with this to make an easy transition from game to forum, regarding what you think may have happened and proving that it happened. Best of luck to you all! -

There are tons of things that can cause this message other than a direct admin kick. There appears to be a moderate amount of server lag in the video, which doesn't help your case much either. The reason most all the other players seem to have stayed on the server is usually due to them doing exactly what you all did and instantly rejoining, thus allowing their name to be displayed in the pool. The only way you're going to get anywhere with this is if Rocket and Company actually decide to investigate. With the evidence provided, I see slim chance in that seeing as how busy everything is on that end right now and the sheer volume of this type of complaint that flows in daily. They may very well be abusive Admins, who knows. It's unfortunate there are not ways for us as players to pinpoint if it's definitely an admin kick or the heaps of other things that can kick you from a server. Sorry to hear you all had a bad night. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. -
This game won't be popular at release
fujin31@yahoo.com replied to mkrrr's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
One of the largest appeals of DayZ is the fact that it's character driven. We are provided tools, it's up to us to put them to good use. DayZ was never meant to be your typical "Fun" game. This game is entirely based on heavy decision making that authors some of the rawest immersion (if allowed), that many have seen in years. One of those games that annoys you to the point of logging out, only to return thirty minutes later. The only deciding factor as to how broad you can be with your adventures is what supplies you have at hand. Therefore, it's truly on you to make or break your DayZ story. It's almost like a sick social experiment, but I love it. Edit: If you run with a crew of friends, I would highly suggest setting roles and appointing a navigator plus some leader role. Running about with no motivation is a waste in many ways. Get creative, be aggressive. Don't just sit at camp holding hands. -
Possible cheat on US 252 Dallas

Dean made a comment about the radios during a Q&A session at Rezzed, if I'm not mistaken? I would expect for them to run parallel in terms of operation with the A.C.R.E. (Advanced Combat Radio Environment), mod for Arma 2. -
Autohotkey or any 3rd party application, usage?
fujin31@yahoo.com replied to orbital's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Personally, I don't see any problem with TrackIR since it still requires player input just the same as traditional methods. It's actually a really neat bit of hardware. I use a Microsoft Sidewinder X6 keyboard that has an autorun feature (repeats same button pressed). The keyboard also allows remapping of keys and assignment of special "Macro keys" that allow for a sequence of keys to be activated by the press of one button, like many other gaming keyboards do. Programming a keyboard to run a series of key presses from one key, has little use in DayZ opposed to say an MMORPG type game. Again, here I don't see any real conflict. Even if I did program my keyboard, it's not doing anything that another player can't do by pressing the same keys in the same sequence. (i.e. I can't make a semi automatic, automatic via keyboard macros.) As far as Battleye goes, I have heard that DirectX overlays aren't allowed. The odd thing here is that Steam and Fraps both have DirectX overlays. Maybe they keep track of an official known overlay, opposed to some homemade program. Even Rocket has brought mention to this in the past saying that he uses Fraps all the time and has never seen any issues with Battleye. In terms of TrackIR and other third party programs, it's all client side, Battleye isn't going to know one way or another how you're inputting your character movement and actions unless illegal scripts are being ran. In the end, as long as we still have unassisted aim and no external programs or scripts actually giving us an official in game advantage over another player, I'm cool with whatever. A lot of the tweaks that third party software and hardware offer are more of a comfort and ease of use thing, more so than a definite "advantage". -

Two uploads with max shadows to maintain thread integrity. [attachment=1278] [attachment=1279] Trying the game on max settings with brightness and gamma turned fairly low produces a realistic effect. Hopefully with time we can all run the game on max and experience decent frame rates. Having a universal lighting that can't be altered would be nice too, but that's a totally different subject. -

Hey Guys, I've attached a screenshot that displays one example of interior lighting that's much brighter than the current daytime cycle. This isn't an issue with all of the interact-able buildings in Chernarus, but most of them. The idea of darker, shadowy interiors, maybe even to the point of needing a flashlight indoors if there is no form of exterior light coming through; would definitely amp up the immersion and add an interesting approach to looting buildings. I realize this probably falls into the actual Arma engine needing to be modified which may not be possible at this point in time. Just a thought for the future. Keep up the great work team, I'm looking forward to your future releases! [attachment=1276] -
