    Are you sure it's overwritten rather than selectively used at game-startup? I have OA installed via Steam, and I have this directory (built by DayzCommander): c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\ which is where the added shortcut called "Launch Arma2 OA Beta Patch.lnk" points to. If I run OA using "Arma2OA.exe", the displayed version at the main screen is 1.62.95248 If I run through the run beta link, I see version 1.62.100296 Hope this helps, AC

    Balotabuddies.net is not uk based- was actually Australian initially. We've several Whitelisted Servers in each of us, uk and au. I'm pacific NW US, on bad Internet and get 90ms to us, 200 to uk, and 300 to au. All very playable. All sorts of flavors of dayz, and one of the best communities you'll find. Every player is in our dedicated TS server. Come check us out (again). AC

    Check out BalotaBuddies.Net. We run whitelisted servers in the US, AU, and UK. and one public hardcore server in AU. We're a community, which I know you said you werent looking for, however we have several subgroups run by guys who are ex-military. Mostly this means accepting the importance of good comm discipline, after that, most other things can be taught. Hop in, satisfaction guaranteed, or your money back :) AC

    Pointless thread. Clearly the admin of the server wants a different mod than you. So exit, and find the server you like. It's a sandbox game, some admins like more or less sand, some have buckets and spades preinstalled. Accept, enjoy the diversity. What's the best gun? Will my computer run this? When's the standalone coming out? Who likes / hates the latest patch? Blah blah blah.... Can't we all just get along with good netiquette, proper spelling, and the correct use of your, you're, yore, yaw, and y'all? AC

    Dayz is boring if you choose to do the same thing over and over. Get out of your comfort zone. Likely you are too scared of pvp or losing your gear to take the risks necessary. Try getting enough of an adrenaline rush that your real body shakes. That's DayZ Hope this helps, I'm not being a dick. AC

    Balotabuddies.net White listed servers in US, UK, and AU. Several flavors of Dayz, great admins. Heroes, bandits, medics, and Bambi's all welcome. We run our own TS, every player is required to have a mic, and be in TS to play (multi channels per server). Come check us out, you won't be disappointed. AC

    The other obvious answer is that perhaps dayz isn't for you. I like anchovy on pizza, my wife doesn't. Lots of energy expended by people trying to explain to you why the game is great. Equal amounts of energy by you trying to explain the flaws and problems. People in first group are obviously able to see past / get around the flaws/ enjoy regardless. I say move on. Next topic please. AC

    If you dont want to deal with bullshit servers, and bullshit hackers, come and try: balotabuddies.net We're a whitelisted community, with zero tolerance for hacking. It would only be better if they served tea at four o'clock. AC

    Please pardon the stupid questions: Do you also have both the Arma2 expansion "Operation Arrowhead", and dayz installed? First thing to also check in Dayz Commander: Under Settings > Steam options, did you check the box next to "Replace original Arma2OA files with Beta so Steam Works" What game versions do you see listed? Hover mouse over the "version" column by a server, mine are Arma = 100544 (top line), Dayz = 1.7.4.4 Hope this helps, AC (Check out balotabuddies.net, get whitelisted, play in a hacker-free awesome environment).

    Never found antibiotics at a helo crash. Found them at barracks, deerstands, and hospitals. Try loot cycling a hospital, don't forget to toss the spawns on the roof (ladder on the backside by the dumpster). My last episode with TB, was fixed with one cycle of loot at Berezino hospital, hopefully, you'll be as lucky. Hope this helps, AC Looking for a great place to play?     Cars, Good or Bad?

    Vehicles are a disposable luxury, viewed as anything more, they're a liability. Useful if you're rolling as part of an organized group. With the present graphics engine though, they're almost impossible to hide (trees become 2D at long range, anything hidden behind the tree therefore becomes visible to a long-range observer), particularly from helos. Risk versus reward though- with a vehicle, you can cover large distance, with much better chance of finding a helo crash. As ever though, keep all you care about in your inventory and backpack- including enough food and water to ditch everything and run for it. AC

    Your initial post sounds fishy. You have access to the entire arsenal, but don't appear to have tried any of the weapons? Try the weapons in the Arma 2 armoury. ... and if you were thinking of doing it, don't cheat. AC

    Try installing DayzCommander too; it'll got through an auto update process. You may not have the Arma Beta set up correctly, you may not have the steam linkages set up correctly. Battleye (BE) may need to be updated too. DayzCommander will do all this automagically If you're looking for a great place to play, check out BalotaBuddies.Net - we run whitelisted servers all over the planet (AU, EU, US).
