Apparently our server is down as well after trying to update it to 1.7.7.. Haven't been round yesterday, but our hoster is pretty stupid.. Going to be fun tonight trying to sort it :( :( Your guide should definately help get us on the right track.. Cheers Jimmy :)

You can try ours as well if you want. My signature has the details. Teamspeak as well if you want for a chat or grouping up or your own group channel. Peak hours are during the evening.

You're basicly saying, remove the CBL banlist (thus letting all the legitemately banned hackers free to get on your server) and play on? Unfortunately, in your words, we do accept collateral damage. We didn't create DayZ, we run a server. We didn't create the anti-cheat nor did we create any anti cheating tools out there. It's not our fault the CBL project was abandoned and this mod is overrun by cheaters. We do what we need to do to protect our legit player base. If this includes OP as well he can, again, appeal his CBL on OUR forum and he will be removed. Simple as that. Comparing a computer game to real life situations doesnt really work well, does it?

Like Orlok said, the way the multiplayer coding in the SA is done is completely different from the mod (serverside). This should ensure that client side hacks don't work anymore..

Like said before, for our own reference, he can register on our forum and we'll be happy to lift his ban. We won't lift it just cause he made a post on the DayZ forum. We'd rather have 100 innoncent players banned of our servers then getting 100 more hackers on there who are banned legitemately through the CBL. Don't hate the players, hate the system ;) Ps. I never said he scripted or cheated.

You are right about the fact that WE don't have any evidence of him using hacks or whatever.. but he's the 1 that wants to play, we're merely giving him the option to do so on OUR server. We didn't create the CBL, we're just using it as another means of getting rid of hackers... He definately did something wrong to get on the CBL in the first place...

Maybe you're on the CBL (Community Ban List). Servers (like ours) using this banlist autokick every1 on the list basicly.. Dunno whats going on with your 3rd point. Re-installing should do the trick..

I think he means a hive instance ID. Theyre provided by th DayZ people, not the server hosting company ;-)

Mine has definately got to be the adrenaline rush of running in the middle of no where and then getting shot at when you least expect it... Haven't found this sense of exitement in any other game yet.

If you're looking for a european based vanilla server, give ours a try: UK498. GMT -5. Veteran difficulty.

I voted for leaving them in the game. Wouldnt mind them to spawn less frequent (although it's been a long while since I found an AS50/M107). Just make sure you dont put yourself in a position that could get you shot by ANY sniper (be it a dmr/m24/svd or .50 sniper). You're obviously doing something wrong...

Got my trusty Thrustmaster joystick to fly about.. Been flying a lot in ARMA2 before I even realised there was something called DayZ. Dont use the auto hover option, like some1 else mentioned, you should learn to fly without using it, but according to most of my teammates it's a usefull option if you dont fly with a stick.
