I don´t get it, I simply don´t have these setting in my user config? I´m in my documents folder an there is dayz.cfg, user.dayzprofile and user.vars.dayzprofile. Neither contains any of it. What should I do?

I was itching to buy the standalone and watched Frankie play a little and I instantly noticed a dead body glitching through a wall. Shit like that annoyed me to no end in the mod. Zeds attacking through walls, items glichting through floors, bodies through walls, floors, everything really... Cards on the table, can this stuff even be fixed with the engine they are using?! I am seriously starting to doubt it. Buildings behaved weirldy all the way back in Operation Flashpoint. Then they behaved weirdly in Arma and then in Arma2. Arma3 I haven´t played yet but if I had to take a guess.... Nails in the coffin moment was when he got hurt and the blood was still the way it was in the mod, a stream coming out of nowhere next to his body.

Some guy drove a bus to Balota airfield, stopped next to a hangar and got out. I ran there, stole the bus and drove away. He fired some shots at me but didn´t hit anything important. I kept driving a bit and felt really bad about it, so I turned the bus around to see if I could return it to him without getting shot. As I got back, I saw him the midst of a horde of zombies, still running in my direction, taking shots at me while being pounded by the zeds. I just couldn´t resist running him over with his own bus. ^^ Some hours later I stole another bus, in the same live, on the same server. Still alive there, looking for more bus stealing action.

... wow. Stop posting, every word you write makes you seem like a bigger douche

Ok here is something constructive: It is painful to watch from 2:12 on how you try to get a look at the other tower while scoped in, watching those tree tops for a decade. Scope in at a tower, check tower, scope out, bring view to other tower, scope in etc. Tree tops don´t contain enemies :) PS: Anybody talking about fresh spawns etc in VORKUTA is insane. Vorkuta = gate to hell. When you go to Vorkuta, better expect something like this.

Patrol pack has 8 slots, main weapons need 10 slots, side arms need 6 slots. It got destroyed when you tried to put it in a bag which is too small to hold it(annoying bug, but you need to know about it!).

Imo you summed up two of the worst aspects of this game quite nicely: In it´s current form, basically it is a hardcore PvP game with some annoying NPC enemies, which only steal your time and get on your nerves. Killing them is punished in multiple ways(ammo waste, attract more of them through sound, give away your position, constant respawning). Also, the rarity of vehicles can be a bit extreme considering the size of Chernaurus. Even worse because of the spawn mechanic. Only chance to get a vehicle on populated servers is by logging in right after a server restart and checking the spots. And guess what? In most cases the people who already have a vehicle will be there first :-) And then they have two vehicles, or completely destroy the ones they find. Chernaurus is fun, but only in small doses or in organized, big clans, I guess. Otherwise I recommend Namalsk.

Wait till the muslims find out that there´s been pork in there all along. Chernaurus will be invaded by Takistan

Can I bring my satchel charge? -
When I try to access the site it says: I´m using firefox. Anybody know what´s up with that? Can I safely ignore it?

I completely forgot that dayzdb also has a wiki. I always use their maps. After looking at the wiki a bit I think dayzwiki.com is a tad bit more informative, but the wiki is still pretty good. And the weapon comparison is awesome.

What works? I don´t really understand why you posted a link to this thread in this thread. I mean... what? And there are still people using IE? Incredible. You Forum Team people are a weird bunch ;) :D @TheDuriel: Yeah I don´t really have an antivirus proggy atm  Damn things always cause so much trouble... anyway, will probably install one soonish and stay off the site until then. Very weird that other people don´t get warnings but I remain a little suspicious

Google.de also gives a malware warning. "Warnung- ein Besuch dieser Website kann Ihren Computer beschädigen!" "Warning - visiting this website might harm your computer" Nobody knows anything about this? I certainly can´t be the only person to receive these warnings

€: NVM found the solution! I quote IIII_joshua: "I was having a hard time but I figured out that I had to look directly at the engine and not the body. The engine has windows on the left and right sides (right next to where the drivers legs are)" Ok so I just found my first vehicle, an ATV. It was missing one wheel, so I got one. Then I took off... only to come to a stop 2 minutes later. No fuel. OK. I mean ****** but OK. So I take off to find a jerry can. 1 hour(!!!) later I am back at the vehicle with a jerry can. But guess what? I can´t refill it. I do not get any such option in the context menu. I´ve been to various(!) gas stations trying to fill up the jerry can, but I don´t get any context option for refilling it and the wiki also says that freshly found jerry cans are always full. When I enter the vehicle all is green, except the fuel bar is empty. Wth should I do? I tried logging off and on again, still no option for refueling. Am I missing something here? I spent so much time searching that shitty stuff and now it fails because of a missing option in the context menu?

This map is awesome, thank you!

Maybe some other noobs find reading this interesting. Especially if your idea of fun does not include: - Getting shot in Cherno + Electro trying to find some basic gear. - Spawning in the south, running a trillion miles to the north without having basic gear. Was fun the first time I did it, now even thinking about it sends a chill up my spine. Disclaimer: To me, public hive is "anything goes". Shoot on sight, shoot to kill. Private hives are there for more serious play. Public hive has one objective: Find some good gear. Stash some gear. Find more good gear. Kill people attempting to get even more good gear. And so on and so forth. Serverhopping/Ghosting: Well, not in ongoing firefights. But logging out at a nice position in the middle of a city or on some hill -> yes [The gentleman thing to do would certainly be to log out in the woods somewhere, having to flee cities before logging out and approaching them each time, not logging out at nice positions in the middle of cities] Only thing I don´t do in public hives is logging out in an ongoing firefight. Lose a firefight -> die. So here is the story of my first "succesful" play, aka getting good gear and holding on to it for more than 2 minutes! Took many fails before that happened, luck is always involed. If you get lucky... don´t take too many chances, is my advice. Not the very first time. - Join a server. Spawn near Cherno. Go to southern church. Barricaded by barbed wire. Hear flies buzzing. Circle the church, find a dead bandit and a dead regular guy lying right next to each other. Mkay... bandit has AKS Cobra with ~20 bullets, toolbox, matches, compass... lucky start. Church is empty though. - Log out. Join empty server. Find more mags, food, drinks. Log out on the hill near the hospital in Cherno. - Join full server. Approach city. Enter some roof. Don´t know the city, have no idea what I´m doing. Get shot at by someone with a silenced weapon. Strafe around more insanely than a headless chicken, get down ladder and ruuuuuuuun. Somehow survive with plenty of health despite being hit at least one time and bleeding a good while. Flee the scene. Wouldn´t have entered the city anyways after that, no way in hell. So either log out or go somewhere else. As I said, on a public hive I want deathmatch, not marathon. *disconnect* - Join full server. Approach city. Enter some building, go to roof. Hear shots, see trillions of zeds gathering at some building. Nobody there? Aha, look upwards. It´s the highest building in the city. Even see guys up there... take some shots at them, they hit the floor. Leave building, approach enemy position with care. Throw a smoke grenade to lure the trillions of zeds away from there. Enter building, slowly crouching. Blood is raining through the ceiling beneath the roof. Get up the ladder, see a sniper looking at the ladder. Get the fuck down. Sniper goes down the ladder. Guess he was trapped between a rock and a hard place at that moment. Shoot him, get really nice weapons and gear. Reeaaaaalllly niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. Hang around for a while. Too nervous, log out. Cowardly. Yes. Nobody was actively shooting at me, or probably even knowing I was there. But I´m not sure I could´ve fled the city without dying. Anyway, just too nervous about holding a sniper rifle in my hand for the first time. Haven´t even configured the keys to really use it yet, never mind about zeroing etc. - Join emtpy server. Learn how to use sniper rifle. Find tent. Stash all my shit in tent. Go to city, find another backpack + m4a1, having a sniper rifle + assault rifle + sweet tools + best backpack stored in a tent. - Join full server with m4a1 + empty backpack, ready to die without a care in the world or get more sweet, sweet loot. Now at this point, at least for me, the game starts to be more than a frustrating, hellish chore. I can interfere in some firefights with a chance of winning them and if I die, I don´t have to start with absolutely nothing(as long as my tent is not looted). So, people who play this game for ages now and have every extra rare weapon stashed a trillion times on a trillion different servers, you now may bash me for being a coward etc. trying to get a foothold in the public hive without being everyone´s bitch again... and again... and again... and again... :D

Hello, I noticed that whenever I turn debug mode on all the status icons appear dark green, as if fully satisfied. I can only see my actual needs when I turn debug mode off. Is that a known bug? Can it be fixed? Thanks
