since standalone was announced the general atmosphere in dayz forums seems to have changed from Q.Q to $.$, if you know what i mean ;) no i'am just joking. but its noticable that the development of the mod was really put in the back of the row. no updates since weeks, not even changelogs are announced, even though mr. rocket said that the development of the mod will continue regardless of the standalone project. some months ago there were updates every few days. but who didnt know after the standalone announcement that it is impossible to work on two projects at the same time?

good that you have read my postings so carefully and show us that you are the kind of man this world needs the most - with giant balls and stuff. oh i see that you are registered since 2 weeks in the forum, you must know everything about this game already. i had some characters in this game which were quite a bit longer alive than you seem to play this game at all. to be serious, you would have known that i didnt expect a hack/bug free gaming experience here, if you have just read my postings. i just became too excited yesterday because 5 or 6 very wierd things happend to me within just an hour of playing. this showed me that this game needs to get tweaked alot before it makes sense to seriously search for bugs and to play this game intensively longer than 3 months. especially the hacker/cheater issues are hindering a serious search for bugs, because you expect a cheater behind every corner. in many occasions you dont know if it was a cheater who killed you, if your gear was taken by an esp hacker or by server issues, or if it was officially wiped, if it was all together or if it was just bad luck. just to give an example. and btw iam not attached to my gear. i stopped to be a hoarder about 2 months ago, because it was pointless then and it is still pointless now. its fun how a simple typo can entertain half of the audience here :) thx for your posting! it shows me that it was again this incredible time luck i had so often in this game. i mean that the server restarted exactly in that second when i wanted to look if some of my gear was still there. it was like when i was trying to build up my first uaz months ago in stary. i built it up almost completely but missed one tire. i was looking for that tire and had to log off then for the night. after more then 10 hours later i came back to the uaz with the missing tire and exactly in that second somebody else had fixed the car, jumped into it and drove away infront of me. it was the first time when i thought that you cannot have so much bad luck, because he could have easily drove away in the 10 hour time frame before when i wasnt there. but he drove away right infront of me and i had numerous similar and funny experiences afterwards. very good game but it needs some fixes to make it attractive again to me. -

these are some wise hints. i think the sandbox game concept with no rules (at least superficially) and no goals is new and interesting but it gets more and more boring after 3 months of playing this after you did everything and saw everything. especially when you have to deal more with server problems, hackers and cheaters than with testing and finding bugs. e.g. your tents or vehicles are on servers which dont save them, or which are up and running well one day but then are down the next day and stay down forever. or when 90% of the players you encounter alt+f4 after the first shot was fired or when you get constantly teleported to elektro or into the thunderdome, start to dance mysteriously or your camps never stay longer than 24 hours because there must be ALOT of people who use these ESP hacks. ill wait untill battleye gets more powerful, i think thats currently the biggest problem. graphics glitches, teleports to the coast and the like is all avoidable but you cannot avoid cheaters, alt+f4ers or ghosters. -

ahahha make a random posting in a forum and 2 out of 16 ppl are grammar teachers who cannot add anything but complaining about a typo. xD i recognized the week/weak mistake right after i started the thread, but you cannot change the heading after you've posted it. and iam sure you didnt read the rest of my post because there shouldnt be too many mistakes in that. besides of I/i and missing apostrophes. i got used to the bugs and glitches, lags, hackers and what have you for the last 3 monts, i think iam, at least in this current thread, one of those who played this mod for the longest time. and i played it a lot. i dont know how often i wandered from south coast to the north (on foot) and back and from there agian to the north and so on. I've just, as someone said, reached a breaking point, after i experienced 5 or 6 wierd happenings within an hour of playing and you cant explain them without "cheaters, hackers, bugs, glitches, wierd servers" coming to your mind. i've had many other weird experiences on other days but yesterday too many strange things added up in a too short period of time. i just felt the need to write that story down to get some ideas from other people about that. the interesting part is that about half of the answers here has nothing to do with my posting or is just trolling. i think thats quite representative of the current dayz community. there are alot of kind people but also too many super cool badasses adding nothing but annoynce. -

hello dayzetters, just wanted to write down my wierd final adventures in dayz. after building up several helicopters (about 10) on several servers in the last days (not a single one remained longer than 12 hours untill the server ate it or untill some ESP hacker found it) my friend and I launched a final try to repair a heli and just want to see it parked for longer than 24 hours. we gathered the parts, everything fine. so we hit skalisky island, switched some servers and finally found a chopper on lu385. but there were some other survivors there too at that time trying to repair the chopper. after i connected to that server i wasnt able to switch to my primary weapon and i wasnt able to walk (1st wierd). so i started to shoot that guy repairing the chopper with my pistol. after firing the first shot that guy alt+f4ed. i wouldnt even be able to be as quick as this guy to alt+f4 if i really wanted to do it (2nd wierd). after some 30 seconds or so the friend of this guy came from my back, i was standing at the green house, and fired about half of his dmr-mag into me. i was insta dead of course. my friend joined a bit later and killed one guy, but was then killed by the other. shit happens. then we spawned at the beach, everything fine, and headed again to skalisky. we arrived, swam over there and saw the chopper lifting. maybe they left some of our gear there? we approached and exactly in that second when we reached the chopper spawn point the server restarted (3rd wierd). after the restart the chopper was again at the spawn point, our corpses of course not. after that enjoying part we were just looking for some other choppers on other servers (still unarmed). eventually we connected to de 745 and there was some guy standing besides the chopper in his ghilli suit. the weird thing about him was that he wasnt moving, i think he was bugged or something. so we were able to loot him while he was standing there. he had some interesting weapons with him. a g36 camo and an as50 aws. i think i dont have to explain that these weapons dont exist in dayz normally (4th wierd). we looted him anyway just because we had this enjoying experience some minutes ago. we swam back to the coast, but STOP! easy come easy go, when we were about in the middle of the bay the previously looted hacker gear disappeard and is now swimming on the ground of the ocean. even though we were swimming several times with full gear to that island without losing anything. (formerly, i think at least in dayz v1.6. something your gear was dropped at the shore, i know, but since some time it was able to swim without losing gear). and that was then the 5th absolutely wierd thing we experienced in about an hour of playing dayz. maybe others experienced similar wierd things? or even more wierd things? anyway, after playing dayz since v1.5.8.4 the events of this evening brought us to the descision to stop playing this game for some weaks at least because hackers, bugs, the general arma 2 engine and i dont konw what else is adding up to something what makes this game no fun at all at the moment. i know its alpha and everything, we all try to help to gather bugs and describe them (look into my postings i really tried to help), but I think you all know what i mean when iam a bit excited about the summation of all the things mentioned which make playing and testing at least no fun and almost impossible. i wish all the best to future patches for dayz and especially to the standalone project. i will stay tuned but i will now turn to something else besides of this game (isnt there summer time at the moment outside? do i not have to earn some money?) :D regards -

maybe you should try to roll back to beta 95819. this worked for me very well. 95883 gets me stuck at loading almost every time. thats what i asked for already yesterday... can anyone confirm that many tents were wiped since 1.7.2.5? -

I am pretty sure that this has to do with the latest beta patch 95883. when i have this one installed I get stuck at loading screen almost every time. when i roll back to 95819 I never got stuck yet. but there are many servers running 95883 already, so thats problematic. anyway I think that hardly anybody will read this. questions or suggestions are hardly read or replied to here. but maybe it helps that about 950 people said that they still have graphics issues? (to make my irony explicit ----> I am sure that rocket NOW knows that the graphics issue still exists) -

you must be quite new to this... i just installed 95883 and i hardly found any servers (maybe 150 with version 1.7.2.4). aswell the video in the main menu lagged a bit for me. so i rolled back to 95819 and everything is fine for me now. i can find all the servers, the main menu doesnt lag. there were quite a few occasions when the newes beta patch didnt work well in the last 3 monts iam playing this game. -

this seems impossible due to the performance which should be more than poor after 5000+ zombies (or whatever number?) are spawned all the time and wander all over the map. -

i was always wondering why our camps and vehicles are always gone in less than 24 hours after we built them up. when i read about this ESP shit and saw some screenshots (just google, you'll find them very quickly) of ppl actually using it, then this is no surprise for me anymore. there are ESP's out there which allow you to see vehicles, survivors and tents over the WHOLE map. ESP is something like a much more powerfull magic rangefinder. thats just insane and makes it really pointless to me to play this game any longer. you cant hide camps, you cant hide vehicles, you cant even hide yourself from this. this really must be stopped. otherwise iam afraid that this game will be cheated to death some day. i experience this especially since the reintroduction of helicopters. my group has built up 6 or 7 choppers on different servers yet. not a single one stood longer than 24 hours where we parked it for the night. -

i guess there is no solution for this atm which everyone helps. we found and built up 3 helis on 3 different servers in the last days. every single one poofed after server restart. yesterday we did exactly what you recomment. we built up the heli on skalisky island, fueled it a bit at a fuel station, flew around with it a bit for like 15 minutes and landed at 2 or 3 different spots where we all exited the heli and saved it. then the server restarted while we were flying around. relogging let us spawn somewhere near where we were flying before but there was no heli to be spotted anywhere. then we checked all the save-spots where we were before - nothing. neither was the heli at its original spawn point on skalisky. the interesting thing is that another vehile we had on this server still was there where we saved and left if before the server restart.
