This^^ The zeds attack I think is a pistol round, im sure you have seen them unsling then holster there invisible rifles on spawn :). Increacing there attack range just slightly they could get the shot off during that pause where they think about hitting you....then just run again. -
Another thought was, its always nice in arma when you finish an editor creation to round up a possie and test it out, so a way to share your custom missions is sort of needed. Maybe just allowing people to run a local host with a 5 or so player cap could work. Keeping the numbers small, and no ability to host a dedi should stop people just running off to play on a custom server and keep vanilla servers full. However I don't even know if that's possible^.

[SA] I'd like to see more blood, dead bodies and body parts

All for a bit more gore on the textures, id like to see like a clerk in the market with a blood darg mark and some stuff can spawn on him....maybe an addaction with some loot. Bodies of people in the other lootable places would be nice aswell, instead of always picking your loot up off the floor. Maybe make the bodies spawn in slightly different locations, or not at all, as the building spawns its loot. Also more blood on the walls and stuff fits, everythings all nice and clean for arma, so they reskinned the clean people for the infected, so why not reskin the clean buildings to match. -
Steering this convo back in the right direction, the idea would be cool in an arma custom mission, but for dayz its a little overpowered I think. At least there will be more places to hide a heli with Utes on the game. Maybe if they added a ship that had a heli deck it could be a good way to secure a heli, most servers have low view distance an that makes the ocen a big place to search.

I did an editor post a while back, and yeah I couldn't agree more. Like the idea of just allowing editor in an offline mode aswell, that solves the problem of hackers a little....assuming they can disable custom scripting in MP, which im sure they can.

How about it done as in domination...when you get shot instead of going to "you are dead" screen it could have you just blacking out...fading n and out of consiousnes. In domi theres the timer till you are completely out, that could be replaced by some kind of "will to live" bar giving you 2 mins or so for a teammate to drag and revive you. A teammate doing CPR could slow the will to live bar(not forever but maybe CPR slows the bar a lot turning 2mins into 5 mins survival time) but if he has to stop for zeds/players it will begin to drop again. The revive is only possible when a teammate has a defib in there inv. That way if you come under fire and take a casualty....someone could drag the victim and do CPR while other takes out the bandit and goes to the hospital in search of a defib. The power issue is always gonna be there....should we do away with all electricly powered devices....that would mean no cars....gps....torch....anything. Maybe the power packs for the defib can be found separately, and if its a hospital issue one it could take up so much inv space that it would be a considered carefully. Do I take the defib...and loose a few mags and some food/drink, or stick with my normal survival gear.

I really like the idea of some kind of animal carrying ur message, mainly for the direction it approaches from. That's such a good way to balance the advantage of an attacking player. Obviously pidgions have been well and truly dismissed, but is there not another animal....or something this could be applied to?? its such a great base idea. First thing pops into mind is to deliver the message on a remote control car or something.....hell anything....long as it gives some vague indication of where the bandit is. Radios in standalone sounds great, but maybe make them super rare and make some sort of makeshift message sending the one people rely on most.

Some good ideas, only one I disagree with is clearing towns....that would just promote PvP...as the only PvE aspect would have been removed for 24hrs. But as for more zombies....BRING EM ON!!, I want cherno looking like dead rising 2 :P Chaining agro could be the best idea ever....would defo force a more stealthy approach to zombis, it wouldn't be "How many am I gonna agro" itd be "How many is that zed gonna agro if I agro him"

Keep the zeds as fast and strong as possible! Couldn't agree more with the stealth thing....it works great and does require a bit of common sense. Personaly if I startle a zed im disappointed, getting in and out undetected (especialy if theres a pvp firefight going on) is how I like to play, and gives a real thrill. Tip from personal experience...never lie down when trying to stealth zeds, they can and will spot you and then you will take hits while the stand up animation plays. A mix of crouch walk and crouch run can get you in and out of NWA (hangers and barracks) without agroing a single zed. Shooting at zombies should always be a last resort. Well... that's how I do it, but that's the beauty of Dayz....someone else may do it completely differently with just as good results :D

Yep...in a military action where they are launching air combat units. In a relief situation the carrier would be as close to the shore as possible to quickly ferry casualties by heli and boat ;) -
I like it...apart from the obvious abuse that would happen. But then again catching some nab doing a picaso of a dick on the wall would be funny. Plus the hunt for a screenshot of KoS dead with "Killed On Sight" written on the wall behind him would begin :P

I like the idea of varied run speeds, just to mix things up a little bit. Like the OP said you could have that 1 nightmare zombie....the one you tell your group about around the campfire that night hehe. They shouldn't all be walking dead speed though.....as someone said "that would be boring". And that's exactly why running zombies, branded "infected" were born....audiances were growing tired of zombies, the shock of a person rising from the grave just didn't have the same fear factor as people were becoming desensitised. I mean look the the lengths modern film makers go to to get that shock factor....things like "the hills have eyes" spring to mind, where theres inbred, cave dwelling, rapists....and people leave the cinema saying "meh it was ok" lol

Sod all you no guys.....I like this idea :P, ok not the drivable part it should be static, but why not have it?? 1) You want a backstory......Upon the outbreak of the infection in Russia the US and EU countries scrambled aid to help the survivors.....they took people onboard to test and treat....the infection spread trough the carrier and boom....US carrier stranded off the coast of chernarus. 2) Weapons.....we have massive door guns on the huey, why not something similar on the carrier that can be loaded with MOD 0 ammobetl. im not talking the main guns.....anti missile gatlings or missiles themselves, just the small arms guns mounted for close defence. This could make it a place people go to garrison. Groups with a heli would have to be cautious approaching and stuff. 3)(this would be if it moved) Fuel.....I seriously doubt we would have to go looting plutonium for the engines,these ships can cross ocens, and im assuming the zombies haven been sailing up and down the (extremely small) coast wasting it all. And why not have a relief fleet....carrier with the 2 stock arma frigates. Would the carrier not carry a reserve....and could the support ships not be carrieng emergency reservs. 4) Bambie hunting from carrier...put it far enough out so sniper rounds will be very inaccurate say 1500m, and make it something to work towards, for example....the carriers fuel cells have cracked....the whole area is slightly irradiated....you need a hazmat suit to survive long enough to loot the place properly and guess what....they only spawn at high value military up at NWA :P 5) I jus wanna put the cargo plane down on the carrier and make my camp there if im rly honest :D -

I like it....i made a thread a while ago about getting people to team up....and activitys for teams that don't involve killing other players....this could be it. Heres a couple of ideas to help with the cons....sry for any repeats. Camping - That's a really easy fix....make 5 (or jus 1 to make it super rare) of the special objects and have them in random places each restart using the existing crashsites system. If the object has already been recovered (using the super duper tank as an example) it wont spawn again till destroyed. If they were extremely hard to spot then it wouldn't be something that people could "farm" or find all 5 in a heli in 30mins. Teams Having The Power - that's not even a con, that's the way dayz always has...and always will be lol. I never check spawn points anymore for cars...i jus head into that belt of forrest around the map. Then you aren't just finding a car...its usualy fully repaired and comes with some loot :D -

I gotta update my dayz!! i know you are sorta complaining about it....but for me this is great news. Agree with Obama the "infected" (for the sake of all the zombie babble^^ :P) are waaaaaayyyyyyy too easy once your all geared up. But haven't they always been able to sprint? -

Im split on this....i want hard zombies for when im playing hero. At the moment they just aren't a challenge once geared. But i do agree that anti-biotics should spawn a lot more, i haven't seen a pack for weeks......i mean theres rare....and impossible to find lol.

So in ACRE if i pressed the TS chat key it activates direct chat ingame? I honestly think that would be awsomes, sure people would cry at first, but if its universal then its completely fair. It would mean being a lot more carefull when executing a "fake" surrender, and a lot more planning (for a team doing it anyways). Isnt having the team of friendly players with you just as much an advantage as being able to communicate with them.......VOIP is just a bonus :P

Gears would be awesome. Only prob i can see is we have no way of putting varied pressure on the throttle.....so you would have a load of veh screaming around at max RPM in third gear lol

Not everyone in Russia is poor lol, as in any country, Anywhere in the world there is devision of wealth. Just as in the US or UK there are people that have mega bucks and people with next to nothing. In Russia you would find pretty much any car, some people will import them. There are people in US that live on welfare and can bearly afford there food.....that dosent mean that there are no luxury cars in Amarica. Same in UK......same in Russia. I say expand the range of cars and veh to include everything that you could possably imagine and make the spawn points random.....so you could find a different car at a spawn each time you go. And one server could have a completely different selection of cars at a given point to another server.

Iv always just used steam to txt my teammates, but if anyone can just download and use TS is it unfair that you carnt use ingame voice? Just get TS lol. Besides when your knocked out you scream and moan on the floor, that's usualy enough to locate a teammate ingame regardless of voice of other programs. Could they not achieve absolutely no voice when incapped by locking all keyboard input when you go down. So even the voip software dosent recognise the key press? -
Surrender would be great imo. Endless possabilities for how it could be used and its very realistic. If a guy with a gun comes up to you irl and tells you to surrender or be shot....im sure you would lol. As for the fake surrenders, and the communication with teammates....ok so talking away in TS is a little un-realistic however irl there would be so many ways you could indicate to your team to fire....a twitch, tilting your head, ect. If it was a fake surrender for an ambush then I assume your squad would have eyes on and read the situation from distance. The ambush could be achieved without any voice software. Then for the people telling others to surrender, they could instruct the other person to say "go into the red brick house and surrender" then the ambushers plan would be totally screwed, and they would have to adapt or just abort and have the "bait" run for the hills.

Iv thought about this quite a lot, the basic idea is we need some sort of "boss" that needs a team of players to take down. Had a few ideas at first like a zombie in a tank at nwa jus blundering round, but that's not much challenge to just avoid it. Another was a huge hulk type zombie almost like the tank in left for dead, but that dosent fit and departs from the realism of the game too much. I think iv finally got it......a family of massive grizzly bears or packs of wolfs. The idea is they would guard a specific location (could be there den) inside that den is a good number of corpses they have dragged back full of great loot. They would have to be powerfull, fast and have huge hp. I just have visions of players sitting around by the entrance to the dens waiting for other people to show up so they can help eachother. As per usual the paranioa level would be high....arguments may ensue over who wants what loot....and the bandits could wait outside to ambush the lucky winners :) Id do it just as crashsites are done with 5 dens per restart in random places. I feel this would give a proper PvE aspect to the game, and encourage teamplay instead of KOS.
