Personally I love Cyberpower for pc's. They build it for you so no need to worry, but you pick and choose all your components. So your getting the best of both worlds. Just google cyberpower, and pick one of the configurators, or check out whats on sale :)

That rig sounds fine. Im on a 7770 and I don't get those kind of drops. Sure the 1/2 extra power leads are in the top of the card? His old one might not of used them. Maybe try, Is PC in high performance mode Is grapichs card in high performance mode Does Motherboard have a boost function? if so try that on Check all the cables (especially those top 2 power jacks) Try lowering res (im at 720p with r7770, getting way over 30 in wilderness, mid-high 20's in citys) EDIT - Oh yeah and as others have said, drivers.....its always a driver issue lol

Ahh I see thanks guys :) Id guess its an engine setting for how long text stays for, does it stay for about the same time as a direct chat, or status message? If its that, this could be one for the bug tracker. Or if someone can figure out custom loadscreens might be a better way to get the info across.

STUPID QUESTION ALERT!.....whats MOTD?? Do ya mean a custom loadscreen for that server?
-
I quit that for quantum physics :)

Space to raise weapon then single right click to scope/iron sights ;) The space thing is really just to show your friendly but while keeping your weapon ready (ish) incase of a backstab. Or if you are amongst friendlys and don't want any "accidents" :)

Lots and lots of Melee! An actual firearm should be insanely hard to find. I would like it if shotguns were the most common weapon, found in farms and police stations. That way the engagement range is kept small, meaning players have to get close, and will then be much more likely to get spotted at some point.

20 Plus Million Dollars Later...
Karmaterror replied to Hero of Suburbia's topic in General Discussion
Money is irrelivent in a way. No amount of it can speed up creativity. Sure now they know that the bills are paid for a while but I wouldn't want them suddenly hiring a huge staff to make things move quicker. A small team means more of Deans time with each member keeping a strong unified vision of what they want to make. Also we know alper is gonna last about a year, whats a week or 2 now to celebrate, and unwind after what I imagine was a very stressfull few months getting to where they are now. -
Hey...its hard to find stuff to do when you don't want PvP...I can relate to that. As of now I don't think there is much you can do, when base building comes in you will never be bored. For now maybe head down to the coast and help a fresh spawn, or go and explore the new places to the north. Something that's fun as a friendly is trying to stalk a player without them seeing you. Good training for when bases do hit aswell ;)

Point 1, Yep we need more and I think we will get them. I like the idea of them outside towns aswell...reminds me of in the mod when we had them spawning along treelines for a while. Point 2, The speed is varied in the SA now, but overall they are just too slow for me. Id like it if most were as fast as the player. Say 60%....some slightly slower, say 15%, but the last 25% are actually faster than the player. That way fleeing is a tactical decision, and might stop people just running round full speed looting, while they know they can always run away faster than they can be chased. Point 3, I agree they should come strait at you, but I feel like a lot of the challenge in shooting them is gone. Id like to see not the old mod "zig zag" but more of a gentle wave to there run. Also I think it would be cool if they tripped up and fell sometimes. That way its not just a head moving towards you ....easy no skill headshot lol. Point 4, Yeah they do seem to detect a bit better (vision wise) in the SA, but iv found I can jog on concrete and stuff really close if they don't have LOS. Something that would have defo startled them in the mod. Id like to see the hearing upped so they can be alerted that way more....and the sight slightly reduced. Point 5, Havent really tried to loose em properly yet.....how can I resist chopping them all down with an axe :D I think how it was possible in the mod was fine though. Point 6, Defo give them different power, ya never know whats gonna happen then and adds to the threat. I remember the recent mod patches have made them a lot tougher, I think we will see that happen towards the end of the Alpha phase. I think the things we will see first with zombies is the numbers go up and respawns happen. As the servers get more stable they will want to test how much they can handle. I don't see things like balancing zed damage/run speed and such till much later on. Sort of when everythings in, stable and functioning then balance starts.

There is a great guide on optimising a bit lower down general discussion page.

Well we have readable books, and the mod had a journal that did have some info on what had happened to you. Maybe combining the two somehow. I think both are clues that something like this will eventually happen ;)

lol beat me to it^ Welcome to the forums btw, try doing a lil search before making a new topic though ;)

A couple of ideas to make characters unique.
Karmaterror replied to ugi68's topic in General Discussion
Im sure what we have now regards clothing is a small chunk as apposed to what will be in the full game. Things like gas masks and camo clothing I guess will be much more rare. Where civy cloths will be the norm, with a lot more variation. -
The only solution for DayZ: Simulation.
Karmaterror replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Liked it all, months worth of development right there. Was thinking maybe the medical stuff, like the dice rolls for repairing an organ, could become more favourable toward success the more times you successfully do it. Maybe also a slight speed gain aswell. So like with building resistance to infection, it would be another incentive to survive longer. Might also make teams designate there "medic", make them perform all the surgery, and get good at it. Then in combat another group could target who they think the medic is to hurt the other teams chances :) -
Find a server that saves your toon properly, add to fave list, always play there ;) Iv never had mine reset while iv been playing on fox company gaming server, and hes about a week or 2 old now.

Please do not change the loot of intensities to prevent Server hoppers
Karmaterror replied to tiagoaccorsi's topic in General Discussion
In the mod they made buildings respawn loot every 15 mins to stop farming. Something similar on the SA could be good, just a bit longer. Say somewhere between 30 mins and an hour respawns each individual building. -
In my opinion, the current compass is an example of over-design.
Karmaterror replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in General Discussion
New compass is great. Think about it, only thing you really loose is the ability to shoot and see it at the same time. So it takes some time to access it but that's realistic. I couldn't IRL, take a compass from my pocket, take an accurate bearing, and then put it away again in 3000ms. More like 10-20. If you are using 1 hand for compass then you couldn't fire a rifle with one hand anyways. -
For all of those that want to raise the player limit
Karmaterror replied to The Legit Pie's topic in General Discussion
In the games current state I would be all for more players. But when base building gets introduced, a 150 cap would be so harsh lol. Remember trying to sustain a base on a 60+ server....hard as hell. Most of mine lasted less than a week. I know there would be groups, but even say 75 players trying to build could get crowded. -
game needs a patch with something to do
Karmaterror replied to dgeesio's topic in General Discussion
Theres plenty to test....go to any of the new locations and start snapping things like.... Bushes clipping trough walls ( thousands to get stuck into) Tonnes of fences and small walls that clip or dont line up right. Basically, i think atm map errors are a priority. Let them get the servers done.....finish off the map.....then start rolling out content to test. Also as work on new map areas progresses there will be even more things to test. -
Make 1st person less clunky - remove mouse acceleration, deceleration, smoothing.
Karmaterror replied to franzuu's topic in General Discussion
Ofc you can turn faster with sensativity up, but even with it up the effect is still very noticable, try it. I play with sence maxed and i get the same effect.....move mouse slow....good accutate turn speed. Try to turn it fast and it dosent move nearly as far. Removing it would allow for these rediculous, unrealistic snap shos where a player who whas flanked a sniper could easily have the tables turned. Thats just not right, if you have flanked a prone sniper theres no way irl hes spinning round.....hefting his dmr or w/e into a fireable position and pulling the trigger, before dude with ak squeezes anc ends him. Thats why i would prefer it stay. -
Feeling naive on my "no KoS" policy
Karmaterror replied to Armonikills's topic in General Discussion
Playing friendly is a big challenge. But the rewards from teaming up can rly rly out weigh the benefits from Kos. Sometimes you will get shot....sometimes robbed, but sometimes......just sometimes.....you will meet someone nice. Together you can acomplish much more, things like more inv space, help when unconcious and someone to cover you in a new meet. Iv teamed up with several players while playing Sa, most tried to kill me in the first ten seconds. You have to take a chance....and in most cases the first step to show you are friendly. Approaching a player with both weapons on ya back helps....iv met people who lined me up to kill....untill i shouldered my m4 and waved. Ofc theres always the ones that just shoot.....most times ends with you dying. But when ya do manage to run away, flank, and get the kill....its so much more rewarding than just shooting a guy who dosent even know ya there. Next time ya meet someone take a chance....all the guys in my lil group met in the mod. All ingame and all through bieng friendly. -
Id say there isnt too much point investing too much time in zeds just now. Imagine if they got them all fixed, then went to implement it....but doh the servers carnt handle the new scripting , or increacing there numbers makes servers crash. Servers and there stability should be top priority, need a good foundation to progress on.

Karmaterror replied to franzuu's topic in General Discussion
I acctually like the neg mouse accel, i think its in to stop twitch shooting like in Cod or anything made in source engine. It gives a feeling of weight to the weapon, and also a reward for bieng calm and controlled in gunplay. If they removed it and all of a sudden it feels like every other fps game out there i would feel like it had lost a big part of what made dayz great.
