    Sounds like you want a solution now? Im saying its not important untill features and other things are in :)

    Having both options would spark a new debate akin to 1st vs 3rd. Players with no accel would have a distinct advantage over players that used it. You may not like it, but you would get used to it over time....for me it was a short time but maybe more for others. Twitch shooting would be an epic problem....ever been in a city on a crowded server? You would run into the market and that guy looking at loot on the floor would e able to swing and shoot you in an unnaturally fast movement. Accel is just another challenge for the player, and an immersive one at that. Tell all those Kos ers that it isnt a competition lol. Theres competition for everything in dayz....loot...cars....even good camp sites. Whilst i dont know the SA map like the back of my hand yet (only 18hours played), The mod map i could draw for you in my sleep. Navigate it with absolute certanty (without map), and know pretty much what every building spawned. That came from a mix of hundereds of hours on modand many on Arma 2, game + editor. Trust me after a few weeks Chernarus will start to feel a lot smaller ;)

    Honestly....again? This is an issue that will only really effect your enjoyment of the final game. Right now, for the purposes of testing, there is no need to fix this. I have managed to go a while without saying it but....ALPHA! lol. For me this falls into being fixed towards the end, around the time they are playing with loot spawn rates, locations, and other balance related issues. I see it like this... Server performance... Add a feature... More server performance... Add a feature.... More server performance.... Remove a feature..... More server performance.... Waaaay down here somewhere.....balance loot and introduce combat logging and hopping features.... More server performance ;) Basicaly if its ruining the game for you, wait a while....this early stage may not be for you. All that being said, if they do implement something soon, great! :)

    If you turn at a consistent controlled speed there are hardly any accel effects. Its quite nice when you get the hang of it, just have to remember not to try and "flick" round but more "pan" around :)

    Like i said search around the forums, i think at this stage its all speculation though. I would say that we arent acctually playing Dayz atm, we are testing. Helping the team solve basic server issues. Hopping for loot isnt really a problem in the testing phase, its more a gameplay issue. One that dosent need fixing till much closer to release. Sure would be nice, but not exactly needed right now :)
  6. Ok so this is an idea that may help with Kos but thats not the reason i thought of it. It was an idea i had for the mod, to make it harder to clear out zeds with guns. But seeing some of the Kos discussions, it could also be used for that aswell. The idea is realistic effects from over/prolonged use of firearms. Things like... Long range rifles - Firing many shots from a long range rifle would eventually (to be balanced out) causes some messages to apper, along with some negative side effects. "My shoulder aches" Aiming dispersal increased by 5% "I feel a stabbing pain in my shoulder" Aiming dipersal increased by 15% "My shoulder feels broken" Aiming dispersal increased by 50% The big jump at the end is to make players try to address the issue early. Letting it get very bad has a serious effect. Painkillers could be used to combat these and keep your guy fit to fight. LMG's - This could also use the above, or for something different this... "My forearm aches" same as above^ "I feel a sharp pain in my forearm" same again^ "I can bearly grip my gun" you guessed it...same again. I think you get the idea now. Could be loads of statuses related to each firearm. This adds another consumable to gunplay, beyond ammo. While i think fitting with the game quite well. Bandits wouldnt just need a gun and bullets, but stuff to combat these effects. Also heros going for a zombie slaughter would have the same things to think about. Also they could go away over time themselfs, if ofc you didnt use a gun. Well.....have at it :)

    No shortage of ego here lol. While the story was entertaining, i feel you class yourself as "elite" too easily. Theres 101 vids of people taking down large armed groups on dayz. You got the drop on them , thats the deciding factor in like 90% of engagements on this game. Now if they had got the drop on you....and you had turned the tables i would class it as "elite" :P. Not a bad bandit story though, have some beans. I saw a MOD post about duelling the other day.....lee harvy vs you in 10 paces duel (with you tube vid)??? :)

    The faster you try to "accelerate" the "negative" the effect....meaning a quick flick of the wrist over an entire mouse pad will only achieve say 30 degrees of turn. Where a slightly slowwer and more controlled movement can achive much more. i understand perfectly what it is and how it effects the player in-game. Load your dayz right now and try to turn in a slow, controlled mannor (dosent mean 1cm/min or anything) but a fair speed. Then you will see just how responsive it can be. EDIT - This puts the chance of victory in the hands of the player. Remain calm and move controlled to have no accel effects. Panic and try to spin 180 in .001 of a second and you will fail. IMO thats pretty realistic.

    The mouse move exactly as much as you move it....as long as you stay controlled and dont try BF, epic win, no scope, 360 headshot The gunplay in the mod gave me hundreds of hours of mouse accel fun ;)

    Nothing wrong with acceleration, takes 2 mins to get used to (unless you go all angry German kid) and scroll faster and faster, then you will just get more annoyed. CHILL, move the mouse in a controlled fashion, and you will see it responds well. Accel gives this game an identity that others lack, and for me, a better sense of immersion. Generic mouse input, aka L4D, BF4, would turn this game into just another shooter.....but maybe people have been spoon fed that style by AAA studios for so long, anything different is just dismissed.
  14. Iv kinda given up on the shoulder thing, seems that's just because I was a noob with the gun lol. But I would still push for forearm pain. Another situatin I felt.....not pain...but discomfort that did effect my aim, was at paintballing. Not to mention leg pain from crouching all the time lol....but that's for a different thread. My re-think was something like this.... Having your weapon raised all the time would bring messages like... "My arms feel tired" "My arms burn" "My arms are exhausted" With the same values as before. That way its not based on firing the gun, but keeping it raised :)

    Il be honest i did have a lil "huh??" moment when i saw the price on steam. But i wanted to support Dayz so i went for it :). Maybe im just being a bit paranoid but my first thought was that BI didnt think it was gonna do so well. So they pumped the price a bit to make off the hardcore fans that would have bought it anyway lol. But either way it worked, im glad its been so popular :)

    As far as i know its a problem with some servers connecting to the hive. You sort of have to find servers that work and play on those. Make a toon, just some simple gear. Then hop round and bookmark servers that save the gear. Another fix iheard was that if you do get reset. Dont touch any key after spawn.....log out strait away (only key you ever it was esc) then re log in.
  20. Hi, i dont see this as a skill, but a condition. Akin to being hungry or having an illness. Wouldnt adrenaline make us forget about our hunger, or inspire us to make it a few feet on a broken leg. I guess everything has a gap in real life consistency, i just feel this would bring it a lil closer. And we have lived ok with no adrenaline system, but things it could effect, for a long time. So i dont see adrenaline as required for this idea :)
  21. Il admit it lol....after hefting that shotty up from pointing at the floor so many times my forearm really felt it. Thinking about it the shoulder stuff didnt effect me much while firing, just in the morning. The forearm thing was very noticable while acctually doing it. Maybe more that than shoulder effects. Pistols shouldnt really have any imo. But iv never fired a pistol so i wouldnt know :)

  23. He might of paid for that a bit in the morning lol. I havent fired many guns, but when i fired a farmers shotgun at thosse red disk things, i did have a bruise the next day and was a bit sore. Thats kinda where this idea came from :) Also after bout 20 shots my forearm was very......very tired. Im thinking onset would be quick, recovery naturally about 50% more than that. But if you have the painkiller supply you could fire from electro hill all day.

    Toon Wipes ....Urban Myth???

    Ok, so iv heard about these database wipes a lot on the forums......im starting to think its just players falling foul to the servers that are having problems staying connected to the hive. Just logged in a few mins ago and my guy is still there, gear and all. Hes gotta be over 2 weeks now...maybe 3. Anyone else still going? And if it is this then get those safe servers bookmarked people ;)

    Or, like me, find a "home" server and just play there. I find it a lot more rewarding knowing all my gear came from there, not from 10 different ones lol. Looking forward to private hives...especially now that the server owners wont have access to the server files :)
