Good man rocket.....stick to your 2 guns :) Even give them a little ego stroke by calling it hardcore :) Playing 1st is basically saying you dont want the possibility for someone to see you without you seeing them (which is very possible IRL), then you are making the game EASIER on yourself....not harder. But you all keep thinking its "hardcore" and the most of us will just use this feature as intended. To immerse ourselfs in the world, and compensate for things first simply cannot simulate. Also knowing we have another challenge in the game world to deal with that you all just ran away from :P There is no deviding the dev team at the moment, the only difference is a binary number changed to dissable 3rd. Yes going to take a lot of devs a lot of time to switch that....its really gonna hurt development speed. Where....anywhere....does Dayz claim to be a competitive fps game. Its so much more than that, but i feel the 1st only brigade can only see it as counterstrike with loot :(

    Weird Mouse movement DayZ standalone.

    Do any of you guys turn up DPI on you mice? I got a theory that DPI tricks negg accell into thinking you are moving the mouse way too fast. Maybe try DPI down and use the ingame sensitivity more. For me 1st in SA is exactly the same as in A2 ;)
  3. They ok, not great.. AMD 6 core @ 3.6ghz 8GB DDR3 radion 7700 1GB That was an empty editor map though so frames were good. I had a thought, do you turn up the dpi on your mouse atall? That might be tricking the accel into thinking you are moving faster than you are. Maybe if you use low dps then turn up the ingame sensitivity it might be quicker :)

    True....i did forget a lot there lol... but werent they all medium value? Like some guns only spawned at the barracks or on CS (thinking AS50 before it was removed) and some exclusive to CS. Im still playing the mod, but im not as clued up on the spawn rates as i used to be :)

    Mill weps aren't that rare, especially compared to the mod. In the mod there were only 2 barracks buildings on the map. So only 2 places you could get some guns. Ok we also had the chance to srike lucky on one of 5 crash sites, if they werent guarded by a bandit group. But even then thats only 7 places per restart, 5 of which didnt even respawn. When i started playing the SA I felt the opposite of you. I saw 3 barracks at balota, more tents at NWA, a whole new mill base and police stations everywere. I thought "wth....they've made it into one of those damn extra barracks everywhere, insta pvp servers :(" I really hope in the end its something like only pistols in police stations and have less barracks in some places. Finding a good gun should be an event :)
  6. Ok so im finding that the healing status is waaaay too effective. From the vids explaining the system I gather it regens at 1hp or blood per second. Id say reduce that to at the most 0.5, personally id like it around 0.10-0.25 per sec, but I think that may be a little extreme for some tastes. That plus reducing food a little more in the next patch, and survival might feel like a challenge again :D

    See this is something that bothers me, i really really like the sound of a "hardcore" mode, where loot is super rare. But i feel if they did do this then they need to do it for both hives. I dont want to play in 1st all the time on hardcore hives, but i would still relish the extra challenge from some gameplay tweaks. Maybe if they did a "survival" mode, that could be run on both the 1st only, and 3rd enabled hives then it would be good :)

    What got me thinking about this was hunting on the mod. With the zeds doing so much damage per hit now hunting is a real nesesity for solo play. But this whole healing thing just seems like it would remove the need to hunt. If food gets more rare as loot, then it could be better (and yep....i mean even more rare than now :P), because i can still leave a town with 3+ cans of food. If they made real food super rare we would have to lean towards berry picking or hunting more to survive :) This sort of came from how easy it is to heal atm. If regen took a lot longer id imagine people would try to avoid getting into situations that cost them valuable blood :)

    Have you watched the vids explaining food and drink....I couldnt get it either, but after watching those vids i had it within 10 mins, and i havent lost it yet. The healing its self is too quick for me. Like i take a bit of a beating from a couple of zeds, dispatch them and check inv....it says healing, but by the time i reach the treeline its back to healthy. I suppose cranking the zombie damage could have the same effect :)

    Loot is still fine, just been turned down a lot. And thats a good thing, make it harder to survive, because it was way to easy before the patch. I think we will see stuff like rifles in residentials getting very very rare as time goes on, and lets not forget junk items when they arrive. That little spell of guns everywhere at the start was only due to lack of other loot. Now we getting more items too pad the tables wave goodbye to guns, food and drink everywhere you look :)

  13. ATM the server i play on is pretty dead. When i was looting military stuff i got an error about "couldnt load military beret" Now every time a player pops in (im asuming hopping to a mill location) the same message appears. Maybe for a while we have hopper early warning system :)

    Im completely against armoured vehicles. Arma is for just that, playing with armour. Dayz is about survival, no matter how rare you make it teams will just get all the armoured vehicles on the map, stash them, then save up enough ammo to take out cities from a hilltop.....do we really want that in dayz :)

  18. I got a pristine headtorch but i just carnt get it to work... Iv tried.. Removing the battery Re attaching it Doing the same with it in my bag and in different inv slots Also the battery is pristine And passed the lick test Then i attach it to my head, but no scroll menu options, L dosent respond but i dunno if that still works from the mod... What am i doing wrong lol :)

  20. Something iv noticed is how many less wrecks and barricades there are around the place compared to the mod. They really helped with the apocalypse feel and I hope we see a lot more as the alpha goes on :)
  21. IRL a twitch movement will be inaccurate, thats what it simulates very well. That speed was completely realistic and if you can do it, i fail to see what the problem is....now you are just arguing for twitch shooting :) EDIT when you twitch round at paintballing you are only moving your head to sight targets.....arma simulates this also by having no accel in free look.
  22. Right here it is, first off sorry for the music....didnt know fraps would record that aswell lol As you can see my first movement is a "twitch" and results in the gun going mad. The next movements are with slow controlled motions over the mouse pad. Now my mouse mat is exactly 13.6cm wide (very small i know) and i dont even have to use all of it to achieve this, so small movements for the people with artritus should be ok. I may have to do another vid but i dont play with max sensitivity, usually about 3/4 but the result is similar. I only moved it to make the vid because of all the "this only hurts max sensitivity players" posts. Hopefully this clears some things up and shows how responsive the controls can be when you adapt to them. Its not fair to call something broken when it really isnt.
  23. 20 mins till vid, max sensativity....360 in less that a second i think (or just over) and an example of what happens if you try to "twitch". Had to use arma2 though because dayz servers are down :(
  24. 360 in 2.75 secs is wrooooong.....its way faster than that when you know how to use it.....il look for recording software now and try to make a vid. At the moment your head turns faster than your body....thats correct. You can also hold alt when in iron sights and negate mouse accel when you have lined your body up with the target.....lining up your body isnt even that hard (as i will show in a vid). The punishment isnt out of place, it screws up your attempt to aim if you do it in an unreasonably fast manor....working fully as intended. It also adds a feeling of weight to the player. Its like going from Dayz to l4d where it feels like your skating on ice and have the reflexes of a damn superhero. Might take a while to post a vid because i got no you tube account or recording softwareor anything, but i will try because 2.75 seconds is just rediculous time to spin round. And i know from experience the engine is capable of a lot faster.
