Claustrophobic is a great way to describe how i feel when restricted to 1st in the RV engine. Dont get me wrong it carries with it good aspects, that do make for a different experience. I play both because of friends tastes being different, and even though i really like FPS games (and use nothing but in dayz combat) I will always lean towards a 3pp enabled server for when I run trough the woods. I know money will be a high priority consideration, however depressing that is. But I like to think they would leave it there just to maintain its unique style of gameplay. Personally i think its the game thats "hardcore", the mechanics of it. Like the starvation, hydration, constant threat and complete lack of rules that makes Dayz what it is. I can empathize with 1st users feeling like second class citizens, but isn't it like that in most games. Not specifically a perspective divide, but maybe a game mode divide, or a map divide. Where some players favourite maps just arent popular, or everyone goes on campaign all the time not scavenge. At least this game only has 2 options :)

OK il try not to just ramble on about how i like it...TRY :P One realism point i can think of is that IRL if someone was stood less than 1 foot behind you you would know. 3rd allows You to see that space behind you......OK so its not that realistic, but if that was really your argument then its been beaten to death already, ever since that pesky vid lol Now why its good for Dayz, and maybe this is oppinion. But I think that having a multiplayer environment that includes both views is a rare thing, especially when it involves guns. And as such Dayz has attracted a lot of players from a lot of different gaming backgrounds. Then allowed us all to mix and play together. I have a friend who pretty much plays MMORPG's. Hes not a fan of FPS games, he loves Dayz though. The years I spent trying to get him to play arma, then Dayz comes along and its "this is awsome!"....facepalm lol Maybe 3rd lets the players that arent as skilled at, or dont enjoy fps games to get involved in a tactical shooter type game :)

But they dont help, at all unless clouds are off. Even with clouds on low you will have almost no difference in the colour. Now when clouds get turned off, thats where that black and white daytime comes in. Try it in-game youl see what i mean ;)

This made me laugh, first hoarding is bad....but not if i find the hoarders stash :) Im a hoarder....had a lot of 5-6 tent camps on the mod. We once made an epic one with 5+ vehicles, the server heli and loooads of tents. Was private so no hopping...all hard work. Having that raided was one of the most emotive moments in any video game iv ever had. I think i spent the next 2 hours of gameplay searching the map edges to get it all back :D -
Thats pretty much what i suggested a few pages back, except yours has books of varying level, like "for dummies" then "advanced"...ect ect......so i like it :)

In the devs words "when its ready" is when we will get everything lol. Lot of speculation on bases, rocket mentioned underground instanced bases, but that was a looooong time ago and i dunno if thats still the plan :) -
Gamma and brightness ARE NOT THE ISSUE lol, I could turn both to max on a pitch night and get no difference at all. Clouds is what makes it dark, testing it the other night i found that clouds off (even with gamma and brightness at default) it was just like having full moon nights on the MOD ;)

Well iv made a desision not to have one stuck on the end of my mosin, and even when they work i still wont....why? OMW to NWA yesterday and i saw what at first i thought was a branch moving in the wind behind the wall. But it didnt sway one way then back....it kept moving in a jerky motion along the wall. Took me a few secs but then i realised what it was :)

And this is exactly why we wait a few hours (or a day) after any update before logging in :) PS my guy was still on the main menu, didnt go any further....waited for threads like this lol

Yep as frosti said they back up now, mine updated about 10 mins ago and everything is good now :)

While viewing other players at only 'medium' distance they are so hard to see and appear as almost invisible floating pixels/shapes

Maybe im a lil late realising it, but im trying very hard not to wring SA's neck before its finished lol.....only 30hrs so far ;)

One....found it early and never left. Also never had a toon wipe....connected?? Im hoping that it becomes a whitelisted private hive when the option becomes avalible. But yeah stick to one, as you will have to pretty much do that when basebuilding comes because i carnt see them persisting over servers :)

Probs more than that to fix in what they break, But i think the revision number is more for dev reference, so they can know for sure what update caused what issue. There will be a lot of revisions internally before we see the one that gets put out. Thats why we dont see just the final didget go up.....all the numbers inbetween are the revisions tried in closed testing :) -

Hang on....we have seperate hives for hardcore and regular already, Multiple toons will come in with private hives (your guy will be locked to that server(or group of servers)). Now for multiple guys on pub hive i just have to say no. Its the gear sharing that gets me most with that, i could gear one, leave him at the coast then just dump his loot and log in as my other guy and collect it all pretty instantly. But also there is no need for multiple on the pub hive....the only need would be for exploit, we can only play one at a time :) -
I literally carnt stop doing that when im playing L4D.....i dont even realise after iv done it a couple of times.... hell not even after the hundredth time lol Thats defo a feature that should become a lot more mainstream in FPS games :)

Thats exactly what happens on private servers, and one of the reasons i carnt wait for them to arrive. In the mod we had maybe 4 groups of around 6-10 players and it was great. Some groups had pacts with others to leave there camps alone, but if you meet randomly its game on. Sometimes we would find a camp.....then spend ages trying to find out whos it was and if we should destroy it or not. Some clans formed outright alliances on the fly to battle with other clans. Thats what Dayz is to me, long term survival and interaction, way beyond just hadcuffing someone or whatever.
