This may make some of the base builders amongst us shed a tear in memory... Remember that epic camp you had (we all had one at some point), you know the one. Few really good camo vehicles, good few tents, maybe some wire fence or sandbags for asthetics....your own little sanctuary in the harsh world of Chernarus..... Now remember when you logged in and there was NOTHING THERE lol, sometimes hundreds of hours work that you know was destroyed in seconds.....iv heard more rage on TS when iv announced that our camp has fallen, than over any act in any computer game. I really hope they put a lot of focus on bases when they get past the performance issues. We need those moments in SA! :) -
haha :) Honestly I don't know on that one. I had something strange happen other night tho...was pitch black so im wondering round with headtorch on. DC'd and rejoined....it was day!.....some seriously funky stuff going on atm. All hail alpha! :)

I don't think anyone means over complicated for the user....just in general. I mean you would still get a 300 sec penalty with or without that system. For a hopper to exceed ten servers they would have to spend at least 50mins waiting, are they really that dedicated lol ? :) -

Storage was always my first reason to build a camp, followed closely by "man....how cool does this look" lol. My group dosent roleplay really, but I don't mind. But sitting round the campfire admiring your tents/cars while chatting away and having a smoke was brilliant. Not to mention logging in and being able to think...."hmmmm what loadout should I take today" :) -
I got no doubt that specific spawns will go in the end. I think a lot of the problem atm is well....put simply...alpha. But I wont just say that lol....Its a general lack of diversity in loot atm. We haven't got even 25% of the total loot items that will be in the finished product (yes that's a guess :P) But in that guess im not even factoring in car parts or junk loot. The first hurdle will be to just get loot in every structure, not just a few. Then once all the items start coming in I think it will get very hard to find specific things. I don't mind things like civy weapons in houses, say rare chance for a magnum or a shotty. But I feel like 99% of houses should be food/cloths/junk loot. If there is even a slight chance for something like an M4 to spawn, then I just see some people camping next to a small out of the way town and playing the odds. Especialy when loot respawn comes in and people start getting there farm on again. That was one of the good things in the mod, if you were to farm for an M4, you would have to do it in a real high risk location :)

Agree with adding 10 seconds if the weapon you are swapping to is in your pack. That's a must have. But you can take any item into your hands,so letting us carry another in our pack would mean we could have 3. Maybe you carn't access the one in your pack unless you right click and select rebuild rifle....animation plays....then it goes into your hands. Making you drop the third gun you were carrying :) PS....just ignore all the meme responses ;)

Did a suggestion on this ages ago for mod, short version is... Build some utility stuff at our camps (workbenches, water containers ect), not just storage. That way people might "visit" your camp and leave it intact so they can use the facilities until they build there own. Because lets face it...in the mod...you see a camp....theres only one option really :P -

Hmm the flagging servers seems a little over complicated. What's wrong with just 300 wait every rapid swap? Also if you don't have the timers on when joining same server, people could start ghosting again. Especially in long range engagements ;) -

Yeah, you could even close off the entrance with an extra wire kit when you log off, for fear of logging back in and finding zombies ruined most of the stuff in ya tents lol :) -

That pic is perfect, its what I always wanted from SA. Same principal as the mod, but with more options. I don't want camps like thos stupid tower things in epoch, but proper CAMPS. I always thought it would be cool if zombies could damage stuff at your camp. With roaming hordes it might be possible. Then the barbed wire would have a purpose :) -
Only found 1 scope in whole alpha lol, LRS in a barracks and was pristine :) Never really tried to find on till the other night though. I checked NWA, then down to Zelen, then finally got it in the new mill base south of Zelen, so they are rare :)

Most of the guns in atm are civy street. with exception of m4. Those guns will need to be made a bit weak to suit that role, then you will want to go somewhere for a mill spec weapon. In the mod you could find the enfield aka "the dinner bell" really early in a run but it was so deadly some of my group were using it even though we had tents full of big snipers. That might have been realistic, but maybe not great for gameplay mechanics :)

So I could shout at someone inside a shop to come out with there hands up.....but from further away than normal direct chat range. A walkie talkie wouldn't be able to accomplish that. Think of a negotiator on a megaphone....that's the kind of use im thinking of ;) -
spawn delay is nice, but 300 seconds is way too long

When I DC I only get a 30 second timer for rejoining quickly. If I DC again within 30 mins then its the 5 min wait though. But really when playing a game like dayz 5 mins is nothing, and well worth it to combat hopping :) -
I hope there is a clear divide as to where mill loot spawns and where you will only find civy guns. If not there wont be any player hotspots, where people can go for PvP. There wont be that moment where you decide your crappy civ gear is finally enough to head to an airfield, in search of something better. Finding high value loot in low value locations would just mean people avoid the airfields and let the dice roll gift it to them from a garden shed after enough tries :)

Zombie hit ruined my headtorch in the middle of town earlier, you don't know fear till it all goes unexpectedly pitch black. And all you can hear is the footsteps and screams of the approaching zeds, while franticly trying to get your bearings :)

There was a 3 girl 1 guy group on one the old mod servers I played on, and guess what, they were the main bandit group on the whole server. My gf won't play dayz since force feeding came in...says she doesn't like where the game is going now, but meh what does she know lol Always used to laugh when a zombie yelled that on the mod :) -

I think long ass your in-game for 30 mins before you swap server it wont effect you. Its only for rapid swaps, so I say keep it to put off server hoppers :) -

OK i didnt make this, im not plugging my own vid or anything. I saw it the other day and it gave me some tips even as a mod vet and having some 40 hours in SA. Also it gets a lot of info over in a short time, no rambling on for ages. Anyways taught me some things I didnt know. And I think any first time player should defo give it a watch :)

Yeah good point, maybe if it got louder the closer you were might help with that. There would be a risk aswell, letting everyone know where they are and not having a gun in there hands to kill anyone with when they come to shut them up :) EDIT the secnario in my head is bandits are trying to get a bambi to surrender and walk out of a building unarmed.....the bambi hears a firefight outside.....next thing a new voice is on the megaphone, either telling them all is well they are safe to leave....or that they are now in more trouble thay were a min ago lol -
Was clearing out my PC and I stumbled across my old face pack for the MOD. Question is can I use these like I did in A2, or would battle eye have a go at me for editing game files. Also it used to be a server setting to allow them or not, is that still in?

Hmm never used a .pbo for any face related stuff just the face.jpg When you say server side enabled/disabled, does that mean like the mod...some servers will some wont? Or the main hive server decides? Sorry for all the questions as well btw, I just really like this feature on A2 and the mod :)
