You can set this in a config file in documents. Its standard in-game setting is 3000m. 1000 would give a frame increace and is what most of the mod servers ran at. Carn't remember the exact file, but im sure a google search will find a guide or 2 ;) That being said im not against an in-game slider to adjust it :)

Possible immersive solution.... When you search a body that has been shot, you get blood on your hands. Can be washed off at lakes wells ect, or pour out an entire bottle of water or canteen to wash it off. You could catch bandits red handed. Could lead to some innocent looters getting the blame for a kill they didn't commit, but that would be the risk of searching a corpse :) -
Just need a black vest and hes finished....untill they bring out a black pack ;)

Hey i had this issue for ages...my gas mask is in my pack, but wont dissapear from the model in main menu. So i wanted to ask if i drop it on the floor and log, then log back in to try and fix it. Will it still be on the floor when i do, or is there loot cleanup active? EDIT - Well I took the timer hit and tried it. Theres no loot cleanup so thats safe, but it still shows on main menu model. Even if I drop it, log, then take it strait to pack. Gonna go browse bug tracker for it, but if anyone else knows a way to stop it would be great :)

Didn't R tweet that they were close to more, and respawning zeds? But I think that was before the memory leak issue, so that has probs pushed it back a bit :) AKM sounds good, first full auto rifle.....let the fun begin :) -

There is none, that's my point lol. If they are impatient enough to hop for gear, I doubt they got the patience to spend 50 mins waiting while they hop 10 servers. Probably just hop a couple till they get a gun, then go after combat. So limiting to 10 or 20 wouldn't really help :) -

I got a convoy one. We had a bus and a uaz, uaz was following the bus out the back of NWA. But the driver was getting really close pushing his luck. The guy in the bus stops to check his map and the uaz goes into the back of the bus. Meanwile the bus driver gets out just in time to see the uaz explode and kill me, but the uaz driver survived. The bus driver now drags the injured uaz driver to the front of the bus and starts healing him. But the secondary explosion for the uaz hits the back of the bus ...right in the engine, that goes up and kills the both of them :) -

Sour death.... Log in at north camp with a friend...jump in heli and take off couple of feet in auto...set waypoint...hit w instead of q by accident...front flip onto nose...fire and mayhem everywhere...both dead... Dayz rocks :) -
Always had a problem with the basic principal of the hive system for just this reason. Its something that made me go to private hive servers. Never heard such a good way to control it than this, might actually play pub hive if this was implemented. Have some beans :)

Its simple really.... All the makeshift solutions only prove the need for a more elegant, in-game solution ;) I really dont see how anyone could argue against it. OK so it would be a little immersion breaking to se a guy stuck on a tree. But if people are just rigging it or using keyboard functions, then that's gonna happen anyway. And if you don't like using it you don have to :) -

Hmmm maybe its the player increase. Did the update reset any vid options possibly enabling v-sync?? even though im sure that caps at 60 the effect you describe sounds a lot like what v-sync does. Beans.... I love the sax.....this should be the music for when you drop that sniper bandit in electro.....along with the dance animation from A2....the one at the end of domination :D As for some death music im all for that. Nice easy way to jazz up the death screen abit :)

Didn't A2 have the server name/ip on the top of the scoreboard before it was removed? Maybe putting that info on the player list (P) could help with this. And ofc making the history tab work is a must :) -
Firsty YES...great idea. Im sure things like that will come in with cooking and stuff. You coud defo just use the pot, or maybe introduce a mess tin that you can cook with and eat from. Also preparing a meal like that could provide much better hydration and energy values that eating ingrediants alone. One question though....should we be able to wear our bowls on our head....for fashion, and to save an inventory slot or 2 haha :)

Ok so this is a bit of a plea to the community, whilst I see a lot of good respectful debate on the forums, I also see a lot of disrespect, insults and silly meme responses, not that some don't make me rofl, but its not debate. Ok if you disagree say that, and also say why, present your case as to why, and rest on that. At the end of the day we are all here because we share something in common, an enjoyment of dayz. And, while we wont always agree, we are all just trying to make the game better as we see it. Now im not implying im some alien that can turn off my emotions.....iv got emotional on the forums a few times over the years, but for the most part I try to maintain perspective and respect for my fellow human. I think if we all just take a step back and realise we are all on Dayz's side, we can get past some of bickering and have more conversations that go somewhere. I also have a big problem with the casual use of the word retard. All I can do is ask people to show some respect, but I guess trying to combat that would be about as successful as an ash tray on a motorbike.... IRL you would expose only a minute part of your face to "peek" over the wall and see the field. In game mechanics require you to expose a unrealistictly large ammout of your body to see over a wall that height. That's just one of the things 3rd compensates for. Now call me crazy but I think that playing vs 3rd users is much harder gameplay, as illustrated in your shots. Approaching that airfield I carnt just check once and be sure....I have to actively keep checking roofs towers small walls for snipers. It keeps me alert, and increases the challenge ten fold. But man....really another 1st vs 3rd thread. This has been discussed over and over, with people just reiterating all the stuff from that vid. Nothing new ever really comes from it except people entrenching there position more and more. The inclusion of both views is good for the game as a whole. Brings in payers from other backgrounds, and having hardcore gives options for players that carnt handle someone peeking :P Lets face it if it was about your experience you would just hit num pad enter and play away. And if a challenge is what your after play exclusively 1st on 3pp enabled servers :) But your shots bring nothing new to the table. If you've seen the vid, its shown there quite clearly. Isnt this topic in a way making it rear its ugly head again :P -
More Effective, Less Frustrating, Hopper/Logger Solution

Don't know about the hopping stuff but as far as the log out timer goes, your right, this one doesn't do its job. The player element, the human being connected to that char is still gone instantly when they hit escape. All chance for interaction was lost completely, not like that at all on the mod. That timer (while not alt f4 proof) does the job much better because I can put them into combat and stop the logout attempt outright. Now I know they found it to be exploitable in private testing, that doesn't mean that they should just give up. And use a system that breaks immersion, doesn't do its job, and is really only offering a free yolo kill on a hopper IF your quick enough to get there. I realluy really hope the devs put some serious time in re-inventing the combat log system, and with what we have now we know its poss to keep a player toon in game and have the server perform a count. So whats wrong with having a live logout, then using the char remains in server as an alt F4/DC safety net? :) -

Ugh epoch...blah...nah I mean on vanilla dayz servers. Never liked any of the mod variations, well apart from new maps :) Honestly of all the camps iv had iv never tried to defend one. I always just conceal it as best I can and the "achievement" is how long it stands for. Iv been tracked back to my camp and sniped as I sat there admiring it lol. But if that happens its camp site blown for me, I abandon it and move on, as its more than likely been trashed. I suppose its something that appeals to some but not others. Making it was the fun for me, placing all the tents just so, making sure all the wire lined up ect ect. Noob reactions to a big camp is always fun aswell, like pick some guy up on coast and take him to the beta site, and watch him go apeshit over all the stuff he had to choose from :) It also gave me missions. Say I log in and my greedy squadies took all the stanag SD....well that's my mission for the night, try and refill the SD supply at camp (yes so the greedy buggers can take it all again). But that was it, the camp gave me things to do, supplies to replenish, parts to collect if the heli took fire...and many many more :) -

This Game is Being Advertised as an MMO Right? Char Bound to Server.

500 players....on a map the size of Chernarus.....are you mad lol :P Seriously though with 500 players you would never....ever be able to establish a camp that would last. You can't even do that on a mod server with 30 regular players. It would be like the wild wild west....everywhere lol Char bound to server will come eventually, they got these private shards on the way, then you can have the real survival gameplay with a regular playerbase. (im waiting eagerly for this atm) When rocket say he wants 1000?.....I heard 150 as a target...but for basebuilding and an apocalyptic feel I think even that is too many, on a map like chernarus 20-30 regular players is more than enough for a really good experience, with all sorts of "politics" going on between the various groups. More, and it starts too feel crowded, then you need those epoch style bases to keep stuff safe :)
