How I Feel a Chat System Would Make Sense (if Its Added)

I honestly see no problem with adding a global chat when you have a walkie on you and turned on. Just make it a server option and then let people decide if they want proper walkies or insta global chat walkies. Could give access to some channels using <> like in the mod, but more global channels just called "wakie channel 1" "walkie channel 2" ect. If your on a server with no glbal then the range is restricted, if there is global all channels are serverwide :) -
make v3s (or vehicle in general) more silence

This is great idea. Shush the rest of you, lets assume silencers worked :P. I assume it would be a strait through exhaust system by default. So if a back box was included as a piece of loot, you could use it a hacksaw and a wrench to cut the end off the current pipe and botch it onto the end. The result would be a quieter noise. This could apply to all vehicles. If you have no back box fitted your car runs loud. If you find one and get it on there it makes it more quiet. If the car you put it on is ment to have one its a big reduction in sound. If its a botched on one then not so much but still noticeable :) -
I hope its made of something tasty.. Alls I dois think back to Arma3 performance in the early days, man that was 10x worse than SA.....but now its great. If they achieve similar results in the months leading up to release it will be awesome :D

Theres a topic on the main page for 3pp lol. If 3pp was redone that way it basically is 1pp.....no need for a hive split anymore, that's one good thing I guess However I feel its breaking 3pp to appease the players that shouldn't be using it in the first place(as they clearly prefer 1pp gameplay). Having things pop in and out of existence is immersion breaking...ok so you could argue 3pp itself is immersion breaking....but why make it even more so just for the guys that shouldn't be playing there if they don't like attributes that go hand in hand with that type of perspective. :) -
I say Arma 2 complete collection. Its packed full of content, the editor can let you create any scenario you can dream up from races to murder mysteries to 800unit battles for cherno with tanks planes helis ect. Of course theres the brilliant Dayz mod but there are countless others. The Nimitz carrier is one of my faves....nothing like being catapult launched in an f14 tomcat, while going to hunt down some fully armed frigates (another mod). Arma3 is a brilliant game, and there is a mod called AiA (all in arma) that brings all A2 content (bar a few things) to A3. But the ported maps don't run too well IMO. Modders are hard at work bringing there mods forwards aswell, that Nimitz I mentioned has already been ported and improved on for A3. I don't like the way they are putting DLC into the game that you cant actually use until you pay. Much preferred the low texture way of doing it from A2. All in all id say arma 2. Most well rounded and content packed one out there. Like the devs say, only grab the SA really if you are interested in watching it grow/supporting the project. Theres a long way to go till its a polished release worthy game :)

The devs have said they cater for both views....end of. PS I have no probs finding populated 1st or 3rd servers on the server list inb4 lock/merge :) -

Try and play a little less OP, iv been very very good with this alpha...I think im still under 100hrs. Even the mod can get stale if you play it a lot, and theres a lot more to do there. Rationing how much dayz you give yourself can keep it fresh :) Imagine when theres a lot more vehicles, then you will see people more often. When they add helis you might hear it every hour or so and be able to try and track it, or hear a car pull up and set an ambush. Theres just so much missing from SA that makes Dayz. Think about when zombies are enough to keep you on your toes all the time, maybe its just a bit of alpha burnout :)

Don't hop for a truck at each town....that's decreacing your odds me thinks. If you check a site on one servr and its empty the chance at the next site will go up a bit as theres less left to check total. If you check 1 site per server chances are always gonna be the same because you haven't actually cleared the other sites in that server....example you check town A swap server and check town B swap and check C....you never checked A in the server your now in and the truck could have spawned there, basically when you swap you reset your chances because the sites behind you haven't been cleared so become poss spawns again :) Maybe try different goals like lets try and get to X location and see whats there, then just take whatever gear you find along the way. A goal like getting somewhere rather than trying for one of best items ingame is much more achievable so you wont get frustrated and feel like your failing. But disappointment and dayz go together , wait till vehicles persist and every span is empty because they are all hidden by players....maybe keeping the numbers low is preparing us for that :) -

Hehe as I said not very knowledgeable on guns, I did know it held some realistic merit, but not how exactly. Maybe I described it as a feature as most games its not there, the arma series was the first where I encountered it. Im starting to understand how it should function a bit now, so not entirely against it....just a more realistic implementation that doesn't allow for a quick 3 button press and centre scope shots allllll the time. I like the idea of having to find somewhere quiet and actually set your scope and rifle up with some practice shots at a tree. Am I right in thinking then once its zeroed in you still have to account for drop, or are there still settings for range when its calibrated? -

Ahh yes but as chain reactor said on other page atm inventories are very performance hungry. Don't get me wrong its perfectly logical to reduce the item count per building. But it seems the inventories would sap even more performance :) -

Good pint, maybe some models could be for spawning loot and some are literally just empty all the time and options for adding loot to. The only prob is players will figure out fast what models are player storage options and what are loot spawn models. Maybe f they made sooooooo many models animated and lockable then it could at least be like finding a needle in a haystack. So not really worth opening every single one along the way :) I just don't see any need for them to act like tents ect. In the mod we needed containers because of restarts. Remember the devs saying when they were discussing it and one of them just said "why don't we just make everything persist". I think persistent storage containers in they typical sense were rendered obsolete at that point -

Does it though? When I search for sticks it just spawns them on the ground when I search. There is no container involved. Why do we need persistent containers when every item persists anyway? It seems like over engeneering when we could just physically put the item inside a model and it will persist, not having to have containers everywhere. The only reason containers were planned this way was because they weren't going to make every object persist. PS im for all the ideas of storage containers in your post, but whats wrong with a model on which the lid/door opens and you just dump the already persistent loot inside? Some could be lockable...like...lockers lol. If you have a lockpick you can dump the items inside and lock it up. If someone picks it open they get the items, if they shoot it open they could damage whats inside :) -
Yeah it becomes a game of easy greens, just like snooker (easy reds) and then you have to decide do I kill this guy with the red drybag then go for another green, or wait for a guy with a black beanie and take the 7 points :D

I see what you mean with all the nerfs, however I think they wanna turn the mosin into the enfield of the SA. Im sure we will get a better rifle that takes a bipod and guillie wrap, SVD maybe? Im sure they said the LRS wont go on the mosin in the end so it wont be our sniper rifle. How would you feel about no zeroing if we had a fully fledged sniper rifle in game that could mount all accessories and was good on the accuracy? -
With green being the most common colour worn in charnarus and red being much more rare you could swap the values. Green becomes the 1 point red, and red becomes greens value and can only be potted after a green OFC :)

Wow that's insane...I didn't realise that was happening. Is that all down to clientside performance or is it at all server related?
